block mitigation for different weapon types

Has anyone done an analysis on the blocking mitigation for every weapon type?

From what I understand, capped physical and spell resistance will block 50% of incoming damage.

I heard that sword and board will block 50% of the remaining damage.

If you block with 2-hand, staff or dual wield it reduces the incoming damage, but does anyone know by how much?

That should answer all of your questions.

Base block with even just your hands is 50% mitigation. Weapon type doesn't matter. But passives from skill lines do.
