As a console peasant Ive only been playing since console launch day, so I can only reference what I have experienced since then. PVP has taken a turn for the worse. The Viper/Veli/RM proc builds are hurting PVP. Battle spirit was introduced to prolong fights but with the stam influenced power creep fights only last secondsl if RNG procs at the same time.
For the most part, yeah
Welcome to the meta!
Ever wanted to feel you were great at the game, when internally you know you suck? Ever wanted to 1vX but can't figure out how to kill quickly enough on your tank/healer build? Ever wanted to take down those pesky players running the "weak" classes that 1vX you?
The correct OP setup is as follows:
1) Roll a Stamina character, preferably Nightblade since they are bursty in nature. Along with great passives, they also have access to:
• Incapacitating Strike: Buggy CC, great damage, reduces target's healing taken by 40%, increase your own damage against the target by 20%, guarantees 1-2 hits of Surprise Attack after use, and lowest Ult cost in-game #WorkingAsIntended
• Surprise Attack: High damage, debuff, perfect to spam with procs for unmatched burst. #StrongerThanCruelFlurryInVMA
• Siphoning Attacks: Effectively grants infinite sustain when used correctly, even on a full damage setup with no other source of somewhat-reliable regen. Nice duration, couples well with NB great sustain passives
2) Run this gear:
• 5x Black Rose: Heavy Armor grants massive mitigation, more health, and more healing recieved. This set also grants you a great damage and stat boost, while simultaneously causing the Heavy Armor resource sustain to spike. An all-in-one set. #totallybalanced
• 5x Viper's Sting: Allows a high damage proc every 4 seconds. Can be procced from a Bow when used correctly. Widely know to be too powerful, but everyone is a Stam NB now so what does it matter. Pairs far too well with the bursty attacks of Stam NB. Use Dual Wield for the 4 and 5 piece bonuses. #BalancedAF
• 2x Velidreth: Another set to add to the list of bursty procs you can set off. This set can hit multiple players as well. Good thing ZOS realized it was too strong, and decided to give it a second look to address the burst for next patch!..... and by that, I mean they reduced the cooldown on the proc. -_- #ZOSLogic
• Master Bow: Cast Poison Injection. Deal much more damage from everything = more burst. Why not? Your burst might not have been enough to one-shot that tank
3) Go full damage:
• All Weapon Damage/Max Stam glyphs.
• Your sustain/stats/mitigation is 100% covered thanks to Black Rose+Siphoning Attacks
4) Go be great in PvP! Good thing Stamina is so much stronger than Magicka! If it wasn't, then you'd have to reroll again
*sigh*
In a way, we have 12 Class Specs. Stam/Mag/Hybrid variants of each class. By cutting out Hybrids, this was reduced to 8 Class Specs (less to balance). By One Tamriel, Magicka will practically become unused/unwanted in PvP. If there are only 4/12 Class Specs left to balance between, it is far easier to reach that balance. This is either the current goal, or the Devs are literally this ignorant about the direction of their own game.
Back before Dark Brotherhood, there was a lot of variety as to what players chased me with when I 1vXed. Mag NB was more prominent, but there was a lot more variety in who I fought. This has died overtime since then.
EVERYONE IS RUNNING STAMINA! One Tamriel will make this worse after people are settled in and get bored with weak old Magicka again.
Don't believe what I said in this post? Check out Cyrodiil.
Perhaps you'll get lucky and spot a few Mag NB Bombers or Mag Sorc Negate Monkeys for easy AP. Maybe a Mag DK tank who roots for a living or a Mag Templar who heals everyone he can. When the best these Mag builds do anymore are play as slaves to a group of Stam builds.... I mean cmon now.
