Really really good ideas. I hadn't jumped on the token system train until just now, but those are great ideas. I know I will get hated on for this, but l am sick of watching videos of people beating Maelstrom Round whatever and their build includes a Maelstrom weapon! It is annoying. I'll run Maesltrom 50 times on Non-Vet before I even want to try it on Vet again.

And that is so disheartening and sad to read. Things shouldn't be this way. They really shouldn't.

See what people are saying, dude? And it's not just him, it's tons of people. Tons. @ZOS_RichLambert

I'm quite glad of VMSA difficulty despite the incredibe frustration of the 1st few attempts.

It's challenging content which you can simply "pick up and play" anytime. No need to set up raids. You advance at your very own pace. I'm glad ZOS added this kind of content in the game.

Like most things in life, once you practice alot VMSA can be done quickly.

As far as loot distribution I believe some people in this thread nailed it when they claimed that the real issue is that 99% of traits are still useless. That's the main problem.

I don't mind it being hard, but when you hit the wall which seems to be stage 5 for some reason and you finally get over it only to find theres nothing of worth , thats poor design as you state in the last part .

Tokens may be the answer or choose which weapon you want then take a gamble on traits even this would be better than what is on offer now

Even if unsure on exact details I 100% agree with OP reasoning in opening this thread.

My take on it would be:

Normal drops 1 'bronze' token per round, with 3 from last boss + 1 'silver' token.
Veteran drops 1 'silver' token per round, with 3 from last boss + 1 'gold' token.

Bronze tokens can be traded for RNG boxes of a SPECIFIC set (e.g. winterborn box) 2 types of box per set, weapon and jewellery box, or armour box.

Silver tokens can be traded for specific trait set item, specific set, 3 types of box per set. e.g. divines winterborn armour box, impen winterborn armour box, sharpened winterborn weapon box, winterborn jewellery box.

Also: silver tokens can be traded for a MA weapon box. 1 box, any weapon, any trait.

Gold tokens can be traded for specific weapon type boxes. e.g. Dual wield box, staff box etc RNGesus dependant.

However it turns out something like OP's suggestion, my suggestion SOMETHING along these lines should be takes into account.

@jrgray93, your solution is perfectly what is needed.
(Except perhaps the token system should be set that you may get your wanted weapons after ~10 runs instead of 2)

Anyway kudos for the well written post with a clear solution.

There's a VERY good chance that such a system is getting looked at, considering how update 12 will be changing the pledge key system.

Maybe it will get tested and scheduled for update 13, which is also supposed to have housing.

Yeah, the number of runs for a guaranteed item shouldnt be small. I would think the sweet spot should be in the 15-25 range. That way if you want 4-5 weapons, you can reasonably get them in approximately 100 runs. If they honestly expect the vast majority of people to run any content more times than that, they are out of their damn minds.

There is no such thing as a good country song. :p
