Explain something to me, please... About

Hi,

First - english is not my native language, please forgive me some simplifications and errors.

I have a question about the One Tamriel.

Is it true that the new characters (from the start of this update) will be held at the start of Level 50 and 160 points champion?

If so, in what sense is the development of character in this game? I know that 160 level champion is not the end, but honestly - what a joy to have at the start so strong and ready character? Where's the joy of the RPG aspect? This reminds me of selling the finished characters form on eBay.

The same objections I have to itemization. What is the joy of acquiring more and better weapons and armors, since at the start it will be scaled to such a high level?

Have I misunderstood something from the patch notes? Is it really the character development since the patch 12 will be so marginalized?

Greetings.

You will not start out at max level, you will still start at level 1 but every area outside the tutorial will scale you up to lvl 50 / 160 cp. You still have to level up for the attribute points and skill points, you still have to level skill lines and skills, you still have to level mages guild / fighters guild / legerdemain / undaunted / alliance rank, etc. So there's still plenty of progression to be had, you just get to progress anywhere you like with anyone from any alliance and at any level.

If you start a new character, it will start at level 1 and you have to work your way up to level 50. However going from level 1 to 50 only takes a few days, and week at the most, depending on how often you play. Your CP are shared account wide, so however many CP your account has, is what any new character will start with. If your account has 0 CP, then a new charater starts with 0 CP. If your account has 160 CP, then a new charater will start with that amount, etc. All the new patch 12 does is allow you to play anywhere in Tamrial and your character will be bumped up to 50 level. You still has to earn skill points and CP like normal.

I have been playing for over two years and still have low level characters. And I play just about every day.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Progression wise @Ezaxsu , they are trying to lower the barrier created with that system because as stated by @newtinmpls a player who's questing everyday in order to reach max level might end up with a long lasting experience of being low level since most player nowaday don't quest that much.

+ since the new training traits has been introduce you also have to take care of not getting overlevel for the quest you'r currently aiming to complete so with that system they no longer have to worry about it since the game will auto balance those character who want to quest.

So overall the end-game community won't feel it and new player will sure loose the initial progression feeling but should not be that much of an issue from the overall perspective since vet level grind are really where you get the power.

Ahh @potirondb16_ESO let me correct you: I'm not questing everyday; even since the start of the game I do some of this, some of that, change characters around (not reroll) and in terms of the "min-max" approach I play very inefficiently.

I have few characters with a horse at 60 speed, and even after two years don't have any horses, any bank space or any bag space maxed.

I do agree that there is very much a "two-tier" system; players like me don't stand much of a chance against the speed-level, farm-sell-trade, min-maxers. Even if I wanted to buy BiS gear; I couldn't afford more than a single bit of it (and that's a big maybe - I borrowed gold to get a monster helm and it took me a month of work to pay my friend back).

I assume you were questing because it is still a very slow way to level  . But it's true that some type of content are really not bringing any experience as there're multiple way to enjoy the game.
