About that extra buff for low level characters... bang on!

If you haven't just been playing with CP300 templates to check out weapon ultimates, duel, theorycraft armor sets, etc., and have made a new low level character you might have noticed that extra bit of bolstering that level 1- level 33 players get.

At level 1 i the tutorial you start out with a whoping extra 97% damage against monsters in addition to all the other bolstering and a bit of extra health. Each level you lose 3% of that additional bolster so by level 10 it's down to + 70% extra damage and so on until it goes down to 0 at level 34.

Of course when you level up if you use your skill points wisely on morphs, passives, etc. and add to your damage dealing stat (magicka or stamina) you more than make up for that 3% you lose. You do still have a feeling of progression and steadily becoming more capable as you level.

I don't know how much internal testing you did on this but that 3% per level thing you settled on feels bang on.

It's a great way to hold the newbie's hands while they get their bearings while slightly buffing the mob difficulty for the rest of us.

Kudos on this.

Haven't tried it out myself but sounds wonderful.

If anything I would love for them to increase the low level buffs even more, but simultaneously buff mobs as well. Overland monsters are too easy in this game.

(I used to play LoTRO, and the sense of adventure when solo wandering around Angmar was amazing, you might stumble across 3 Elite monsters with no chance of killing them solo, you might die, but it somehow made the world feel MORE open, not less so).

I hope ZOS reinstates the difficulty of former veteran zones (before they got nerfed) for some of the future open-world zones.

If anything, the DLC's should be this difficult. After all, you see characters from previous 'base game' story, thus suggesting the DLC's should be played after all the base game content is complete (including Craglorn).

Thus it would make sense to have the monsters in DLC content harder, having players with end-game gear to take them on.

It annoys me slightly seeing level 5 players questing in DLC zones, because I always believe that they've missed out on the amazing content they could be playing through for free (I know that they could be an alt of a CP531 player!)

This game will be free to play or at least that looks like thats were there taking it. B.s. that all the people who have had to bust butt to get to were they are now over the last 2 years and people who buy the game now basically get everything handed to them. I feel like your just laughing at all your true customers like haha the game you bought is not the game you have now and were just gonna keep messing things up, what you call balance is actually not. The future of your game is looking grimm in my future, but thats ok you'll find other idiots to give you there money, i know i sure did.

It's not quite like that but the mobs ARE buffed. You notice it in the TTK (time to kill) increase everywhere in the overworld and public dungeons with their larger packs? They're back to being a challenge.

And speaking of public dungeons... I've gotten quite used to soloing the "group challenge" boss in them when no one else is around for that skill point... easy peasy. So I took my level 34 magicka sorc with 300+ CP into the public dungeon in Greenshade and soloed that group challenge on the PTS... after a fight that lasted a good 5 minutes, using self-heals and the healing staff bubble like crazy, re-summoning my clanfear more times than I could count, I barely survived it and actually feel like bragging about it... so /flex :) Best of luck to no-CP players trying to do that.

So not quite the horror show that the original veteran zones were, but close.
