So how do we go "anywhere" when travel is still locked behind quest triggers?

I decided to roll a brand new low level character to see how she fared as a low level with a beginner build in places like Craglorn, Particularly interested in the new Craglorn.

So I did the tutorial went to my starter island, Khenarthi's Roost and ended up in Auridon as usual... and now I see there are no travelling changes. In order to go to Grahtwood, so I can go to Elden Root and from there go to Craglorn I have to quest in Auridon enough to unlock the Grahtwood ship transport.

And yes I know, I could group or use a guild mate to travel to Elden Root as a workaround. I just thought part of opening up One Tamriel meant we had easy access to the other areas through non-workaround means.

Did I miss the memo that said we can sort of go anywhere but only if you figure out how to get there yourself?

    The roleplayers lore friendly method.

Go to the nearest tavern and talk to the locals (player characters) and book transport with their adventuring party to far off lands.

    The non roleplayer method.

Just use the guild/group/friend list as you already mentioned.

You find ships that allow you to travel within your alliance as well as to other alliances in Auridon (Vulkhel Guard docks).

Edit: I guess ZOS should make it more obvious, perhaps a new quest that sends you to the NPCs?

yeah I know but they only allow travel there after you do enough of the auridon quest line.

I figured with this new open system we would start off with at least one wayshrine accessible in each and every zone.

Cool. That makes sense. I'll look for a "navigator" NPC

No, the ships & NPCs I'm speaking of are new. There's one that takes you Davon's Watch, one to Daggerfall and an NPC that allows for travel within your alliance territory.

No, there's a new character on the docks in Auridon who will take you to Grahtwood or Reaper's March if you choose the "travel within AD" option, or to Glenumbra or Stonefalls if you choose the "travel to another alliance" option. No questing required.

In addition to the new Navigator NPCs, the original NPC that took you from Skywatch to Haven (Scout Linimondil) is still there too, and can be used immediately.
