I sincerely wish you the best. Competitive dueling is next to dead on PC. Hard to take it seriously with the game's current state of balance. Our skilled dueling community is completely checked out.
Also how do you enforce some of your rules, namely gear, skills, and CP change?
Please, ban black rose, reactive, ravager, heavy armor, engine guardian, bloodspawn, molag kena...
Ban armor sets or pros will cry.

Problem is almost every fight will last 6 minutes.
Hope bad decisions like the decision made in Malcolm vs Shey's semi final duels don't get made either. Quite clear who was winning based on pressure/not camping mines etc. and someone/some people made the decision to take shields off which handed the win to Shey purely because of his skill setup, build and race.
e: Nonetheless I wish everyone involved good luck and to the you Lieb/others who are organising it. Hope you start early enough because a lot of 6 minute duels will be happening lol.

I did discuss this with Lieb, but the thing with implementing this is that the fight is based more on the build of the characters instead of the skill of the players.
Take, for example, a magicka Sorcerer who knows how to keep her/his shields up very well but clearly has less skill than his/her opponent. We simply can't go for the choice to drop em both.
And we will, ofcourse, judge as objective and precise as possible.

I doubt it, i already have experience with hosting a tournament. On average 10% of the fights ended in a draw, which was suprisingly good. I do nevertheless expect more draws to be occuring in this tournament due to that the meta changed to Heavy Armor, but that'll still be fine, I can assure you.
We'll figure something out for the final if it, indeed, seems to be lasting for a really long time. We will also try to keep the solution as skill-based as possible.
Cheers ^^

Sending them both out would encourage people who just focused on sustain and survival to adapt imo but its your tourny

Making Shey and Malcolm drop shields made skill completely irrelevant. Shey won based on build/skills/class within like 2 minutes was it? when they got ordered to drop shields. I'm mates with the judges of that tournament but they made a poor decision in that scenario, really poor.
Also the last MP tournament a lot more than 10% of fights ended in a draw lol. And that wasn't even a heavy armour meta.
CP campaign = every duel will last more than 6 mins unless one of the players sucks.

I only actually dual on PTS when new gear is out as you can fight various types of builds and it's never about the winning or who is the better player, I find it a lot of fun. Duelling 20 NB's in a row all wearing Viper/Black Rose and running Incapacitating Strike is not fun.
I'll pass it on to the guild mates, I'm sure a couple will be up for it! I just cannot wait for duelling in update 12 so I can duel friends.
woah this looks awesome, not sure if i would try participate but i totally will be there for watch it

Well don't forget Shey also had emp + scroll buffs. I still think he might have won based on build but it was a large advantage.

Yep. However the judges didn't even take that into consideration and decided to *** Malcolm over later on. During the first fight, it was clear Malcolm was out performing Shey (even though Shey had emp/scroll buffs etc.), everyone at the fight was saying it in MP chat as well as in Blobs stream chat.
@Lieblingsjunge There were quite a few questionable decision in terms of the draws in that tournament, not just one. The top end players don't make mistakes until 15+ minutes into a duel, like in the finals of the last MP tournament. As mentioned before, you need to find a campaign that doesn't have emp etc. buffs too otherwise you may as well hand at least 2 of the semi final spots to some people in that alliance lol.
Also, you do have too much faith in humanity lol.

For a ranged build detection potions are literally the only half working counter to cloak.
