GEAR AND JEWLERY BINDING

Please make something in this game where we can spend gold or crowns or whatever to unbind an item. Toooooo many times I have almost equipped something I was going to sell and almost lost out on a gold gain opportunity. Also, not to mention in every OTHER mmo there has always been this option and also options to trade gear. The forced binding to account is annoying. I get monster helms and undaunted sets and such should be bound because if not there would be no purpose to go do end game content but having a crafted set bound? Also, my precious agility pieces bound.

Perhaps instead of paying to unbind your mistake you "pay" more attention to what your doing & not bind them?

I never bound an item by mistake, I've simply stated that these things happen and the whole binding mechanism is pointless. We should be able to sell things we have purchased. Gear in other MMO's are always resell able. What makes this any different and why? @Sypher 2 cents please.

Why the opinion of Sypher would matter in this argument exactly, more than everybody else opinion?

And in every mmorpg I played there is equip binding, every one without exception

    Less mistakes more for resale.

Why is this such an aggravating topic for you guys. I just don't get it. It's a simple matter. Give us the option to UNBIND items.

It would ruin the economy if people could unbind items at will and put them back on the market.

At least once an item is bound, you can use it on ALL characters of yours. That's a nice change from a lot of MMOs.

On the contrary it would help the economy. Prices are way to high in this game for new or low level players. Gold is hard to come by especially if you just started the game.

I would go for the idea, but I didn't like you reasoning and argumentation.

ESO is very nice in this aspect actually, most of the gear is BOE, like I would guess 90%ish of it? You can also trade BOP items with your group comrades. You can trade things you buy with Tel Avar stones etc.

Do feel like, there ain't any issue about bind on equip item, did had an issue about lock item where once you lock an item this item can no longer be trade if unlock... that to me seems a bit wierd.

Personnally group-only tradable item should remain tradable no matter what you do with it during that two hour window, if you equip it or if you lock it, it should remain tradable inbetween your group, since those item are usually harder to get and sometimes player would like to run some test or check some stuff up before trading it or even are likely to do a stress reliated mistake as we've all seen some (sometime with master weapon even).

So group-only tradable item, I agree; the game should be a little bit more convienient about those; would also lower the amount of call to CS Bind-on-equip item... I agree it's an honnest mistak I do have a Dreugh King Necklace that I kept because of that but it's still very rare that it happends....

Maybe create an option for Craft gear so that those aren't bound with any mecanism... that seem fair too. It would also help experience crafter to receive some money for gear they have crafted and used when those items are becomin obsolete. I do have an Hunding's rage gear that's been in my bank for a while all gold

This is a public forum. If you want to talk to your "friend", you are able to do so with the right means (TS, ventrilo, chat, emails, pidgeons).

The fact that 1 one single mmorpg has it, doesn't make it a great idea. As someone else has said, it would ruin the economy.

Never heard of an option to unbind, in any MMO. All MMOs I have played have had gear that's BOE or BOP. It's only the shite gear that doesn't bind. As someone pointed out it would screw the economy and you can use them for other toons at least as they are bound to your account.

OP, I really don't get why you want this as you state you've never BOE an item anyway... :/

Would be nice to unbind crafted sets you no longer use and sell them rather than deconstructing them for 10% of the value.

Reason why I brought this up because I was going to sell a robust ring of agility but bound the item instead and now I'm out 200kish and that hurts. Specially when it takes a lot to make gold in this mmo.

Shouldn't bother you either, the fact that I asked for someone's opinion on a public fourm weather it's sypher or not has no affect on what this forums discussion is about. Regarding other MMO's. Not every mmo is BOE or BOP. The MMO's that don't have this feature do just as well as the ones that don't.

I wanted to link a Ring of Healing in chat to show my buddies during a VDSA run once. Right-click, scroll down and ... equipped it instead of linking it in chat! This was back in the VR14 days when Ring of Healing sold for a lot. I don't think anything should bind until it is worn in combat. So you can stand in town, put it on to gauge affect on character sheet, go to dye station and see how it looks, etc., all without binding. But as soon as you take into PvP or into a dungeon and enter combat, it binds.

To clarify, only Bind-On-Equip would become Bind-On-Combat. Bind-On-Pickup would still bind immediately.

Plus, people need to see how ugly Sting of the Viper armor is before it binds and they are stuck with it. ;-)

You might get a better response if you avoid statements like "every mmo has this feature" when talking about something most of us have never heard of. And you're arguments are all over the place dude, you say one thing and contradict it a couple posts later.

In wow when you equip a boe item it makes you confirm that you want to equip the item and that it will be bound, that would make more sense to me than being able to unbind gear, unbinding defeats the whole purpose of having bound gear in the first place.

If something like what you suggest was in place, your ring of agility would sell for about 500g on the trader, since there would be so many of them out there.

So, yes, I enjoy some rarer items costing a lot, because I can then sell them for a lot.

And I'm with Ghost on this one. I've never heard or played an MMO with anything like this (unbinding items). That's since EQ1.
