Lol magicka sorcerer battles for top dps on all mixed aoe fights which is almost all boss fights. While providing your group with spell critical and ultra powerful conduits

I hope both of you realise that he is a beginner ? For newbies spamming 1 button like sweeps and them executing with radiant will lead to waaaaay more damage output in general. Plz don't speak like all u see is a sorc with 40k dps in any vMoL boss fight ...

That's such a terrible counter argument. How do you expect someone to learn if you tell them to roll a different class and spam 2 buttons....

Magicka sorcerer doesn't even have a hard rotation.

This is a video of a sorc pulling 47K on zhaj with the simple rotation and he isn't even in best in slot gear

Don't even try and tell me that nb is easier for endgame

    NB is easier for endgame.

[SNIP] Magicka sorcerer has a stupidly easy rotation. You have 3 dots(I'm counting curse as a dot), and you force pulse weave til you get a frag proc

Can't watch it now, working, but search "Reflective light dps" in youtube it's about 4 month old allready and then compare...

Sneak watched few seconds of the start (they couldn't kill it or what?) 58% so mostly oveload fight i guess, and what happens when overload depletes ? i guess his dps will slowly fall into the ground floor.

He doesn't overload at all. No-one does anymore. I personally know the person who made the reflective light build and I can tell you I haven't seen a Templar out dps a sorc in maw since it launched.

its not an overload fight, that reflective light build, i get more dps that that on a sorc with 3 abilities and heavy attacks....... you can get that much dps on a sorc by dropping liquid lightning, wall of lightning, curse and heavy lightning attacks. thats insanely easier than a nb.

Edit: oh and no bar swaps till execute.........

Overload is the bane of our existence. Everyone that talks about overload has clearly not played a sorcerer since thieves guild. It just needs to go away altogether.

Quick question...I see people mention frag proc. I know crystal fragments has the 35% chance of dealing more dmg and what not after another spell, but is there some way to know when that is? You guys talk as if you only use crystal frag when it has the buff. Currently I just cast it whenever and hope it has the buff.

agree, but i still use overload, i put surge and ward on it for Rakkhat meteors, but thats all the use it gets lol. no point anymore, you can get more dps without overload, even on short fights.

Even if i agree with u about overload (cancer). Was looking for a dps parses in tamrielfoundry....found a sorc but nothing serious for a templar.
Watched the clip, and lol its just a aoe popcorn on the ground... pure single target damage he does to the boss is literally low. Even if considering pretty high uptime of raid buffs. And in same situation mtemplar could profit more from spear, wall of fire and reflective light spam imo... esp in loooong execute phases.

The thing is as a sorc u have litterally nothing... except that crit buff. While templar has a spellpower (??? not sure was it spellpower or spellcrit) buff.

P.s.: i haven't raided for a big period but if peeps are linking mixed aoe dps like this ... i can do about ~70k+ish dps on my mdk.

You have nothing to back up what you're saying. And even admitted you haven't raided in a long time. So it doesn't matter what you think, what matters is what has been documented and proved. I'm sure his single target on that fight was over 35K but it isn't the dps job to just focus the boss. All of the adds in all of the new trial boss fights need to die.(except maybe foundation stone) you're looking at dps from an outdated mindset

Also if you link me a 70K dps parse on a trial boss I'll eat my foot

Edit : the sorcerer critical buff provides more raid dps than 5% spell damage that Templar's give

I completely agree. I noticed it is in my character sheet where I find other buff info but not noticeable on my skills bar.

Anyways, I swapped out winged twilight for inner light to start leveling that up. I also tried swapping out clannifer for bound aegis but without the clannifer as my tank and main heal I didn't do so well. :(

It looks like I'll continue to run a bet build while I solo level.

I use pets everywhere. I am 95% pvp player.
I also use them when I tank in pve, heal or dps. But Sorc DPS is not very good, so i usually stick with tanking.

The US server unfortunately. I really appreciate the offer though. I forget how much of a learning curve many MMO's have and I feel this one has even less 'tutorials and guides'. It probably doesn't help that I am jumping in about 18 months after launch and with about 4-5 DLC's.

Using in the Bound Aegis/Inner Light combo will seriously restrict your utility, but if you want to try it then I would recommend replacing Curse with Hardend Ward or you will be dead very soon.

If you can get your hands on Julianos and Magnus, grab the theif mundus stone. all the gear in divines. Get your crit up to 70%

    I set my bars like:

    Bar1 Destro
Crushing Shock(I use this morph for maelstrom but the other is probably better), Elemental blockade, Crystal frag, Inner light, bound aegis. Energy Overload

    Bar 2 dual wield
Hardened ward, Liquid lightning, Harness Magika, Power Surge, Bound aegis, Shooting Star.

I usually drop bound aegis for stuff like maelstrom but in 4 man group content running that set up is solid.

Until you find your own rotation, I would buff up, put down your Dots and the light attack weave crushing shock(or the the morph) until you need to reapply yours buffs and DoTs. Use energy Overload for huge damage and to restore your magika.

    Hope this helps.

I have a High Elf Sorc with 96 CP currently and I am still VERY new to ESO.

My build while leveling was unstable clannifer, endless furry, crystal frag, liquid lightning, and either twilight pet or another AoE. Using a destro staff and all points into Magicka. Leveling seemed pretty painless.

Now I read pet builds are no good for groups and its time for me to start trying dungeons and progressing past solo play.

Can anyone make any suggestions? I try to read the forums a lot but there are just so many different ways to take a sorcerer it seems. I prefer DPS but if I am never going to be able to get a group with a DPS source then I'd consider another route.

I looked at Yolo's build but it talks about a lot of gear, skills, and equipment that all come much later or require dungeon farming to get but I need a decent build to ALLOW me to dungeon farm.

Thank you so much in advance for your time!

I am just going to post this here.
    pONgjvr.jpg

I tank, dps, and heal at times (currently tanking).
I use pets endgame, rarely do they ever die in trials/vet dungeon. You can do anything in this game if you are dedicated enough to try and make it work.

A lot of it is the armor you're running so don't be discouraged about skill performance till you know and have the gear you want to complement a certain playstyle.

    If curious about my setup.
    My gear:
    2x Maw of the Infernal
    3x Grace of Ancients
    5x Necropotence
2x Magnus Gift S&B (front bar) enchanted with crushing and max magic.
2x Trial by Fire S&B (back bar) enchanted with Hardening and max health.

    My skills:
    Bound Ægis : 1 : Bound Aegis
    Inner Light : 2 : Pierce Armor
    Hardened Ward : 3 : Daedric Prey
    Volatile Familiar : 4 : Volatile Familiar
    Twilight Matriarch : 5 : Twilight Matriarch
Replenishing Barrier : Ult : Greater Storm Atronach

If I use lightning staff I use full spell power enchanted accessories with precise and swap Pierce Armor for Elemental Drain while chugging spell power pots.

1.) How do I find out what mats I need to have someone craft the julianas set? I have tried googling it with no luck.

2.) Once I find that out do I just roam around checking guild traders till I find it if I just want to purchase instead of farming?

3.) Is there a particular zone that is better to shout in to find someone able to craft it? Or a website to post on maybe? I noticed it is against TOS on this site.

    Thanks!

Quick question...I see people mention frag proc. I know crystal fragments has the 35% chance of dealing more dmg and what not after another spell, but is there some way to know when that is? You guys talk as if you only use crystal frag when it has the buff. Currently I just cast it whenever and hope it has the buff.

it lights up when its procced

Hmm, it doesn't do that on Xb1 which is stupid. Just tested it and nothing on my skill bar changed what so ever.

thats lame, i dont play on console, but i would think there would ahve to be way to see the proc?

On PC you can see the proc by the purple aura and rotating small shards around your hands and wrists.
The same color purple you see when you hard cast Frags, and smaller shards.

When you have Power Surge up, it is a bit more difficult to see
But Surge is more blueish-white sparks

Just test it for yourself :)

We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

Yep, I see it now. Like you said, my characters hands turn purple when it is ready to proc. I was expecting my skills bar to highlight or change color so wasn't looking at my character.

This effect is very well visible when you play 1st person.
    Looks beautiful :)
I did that for more than a year.
But you miss so much overview on the combat situation that I had to fall back to 3rd person.
