I think that everyone that finished vMA can relate to this feeling:
The feeling where you just KNOW, after countless deaths and failure, you finally will succeed in killing the boss.

Well, look at what happened I first got this feeling.

LOL
I was so excited, that I forgot to put Power Surge up before going in Overload (so my light attacks were pretty weak)
But even with this mistake, there are so many other ways I could of finished the boss..
I was literally shaking of excitement during those final seconds....then that shaking turn into...

Anyway, I managed to Finish the boss after 5 or 6 more runs.

I would like to thank these guys for helping me personally with my build.
@X3ina, @Nightzerk, @Oreyn_Bearclaw

@Joy_Division, for creating an awesome step by step guide.

And Deltia for his, also awesome guide that can be found here!

Without all of those person's help, finishing vMA would of been so much more painful.

Before I beat him for the first time I died at 10%, then 1% (!!!).

You can never neglect your defenses in that arena. It ain't over 'til it's over, as they say.

Big congrats! vMA is considerably the most challenging solo PvE event. Heck, it was cakewalk to solo all the DLC areas' world boss pits compared to vMA.

Lol I remember doing a perfect run till I got to stage 7 where the fire lurker 1 hit me thanks to it hitting double 7k. I then went on to killing everything even the last boss on stage 8 without dying on my stam dk.. I was pretty mad.

The one I wanted the least...

I got a Powered Mace (one hand) and a shield.

Pretty much. I got had got him to 16% before that vid. But 0.2% that was just... painful to say the least.

Now, looking at the video, I laugh at all the fails... So many things I could of done to do the required 2k damage..

My magicka pool was good. My health was full, I had my shield up, but most importantly, I forgot for a sec the mechanic and stand near him when he did his explosion. It was all my fault. :)

Omg I am so sorry for you :( It was like one light attack left... But I know that people can be distracted and they forget about defensive when it comes to execute the boss. I had the same during my first run through vMA when I was killed at 3% of the final boss' health...

    Good luck!

Thanks! I managed to kill him at like the 5th run after this. :)
I'm now somewhat comfortable agains't him and with most of the VMA content.

I managed to get to stage 9 in about 1 hour, with less than 10 deaths.. (Much better than my first run of like 7+ hours and 300+ deaths LOL)

I had a totally different kind of fail last night. It was the first time I attempted this thing and I was blowing through it. I kept thinking why is everyone complaining about this? It's easy. Still, I'm watching video guides in between each round, because I keep thinking that it's going to turn on me. So, I get to the final round and I get through it without any issues and I'm making guesses at what kind of weapon I'm going to get and how incredibly awesome I am. There is no weapon. I got a blue ring of some kind. Yep ... I was on .... normal mode ... because I'm .... an idiot. I may never recover from this.

My 1st clear of vMA was a double KO. He killed me but my DoTs killed him almost immediately afterwards. Not realizing he'd died, I wayshrined it, and a chest appeared outside with the quest finished promt going off, telling me to talk with what's his face.

Got a Precise Maelstrom Bow for my efforts.

Sorry to say so but it is.

Stage 1 to 4 is a piece of cake compared to stage 5.

But don't worry...keep at it. Make sure to read this guide: there is a great step by step for the last boss.

In the end, I don't find this stage that hard now that I am used to the mechanics of it. I still die a few times throughout the stage, while I run through stage 1 to 4 without even using any Sigil.

The most important thing to note here is your priority kill list.

It's probably the first stage where if you don't focus on the right target, you're doomed. Stage 1 to 4 are much more forgiving of who you target. (Stage 3 ranged attackers are annoying but more forgiving than stage 5 overall)

    Good luck!

IMO, stage 5 wasn't too hard. Just keep up on the ranged adds so they don't 1-shot you.

Also, take your time with the final boss of the round; it's not a DPS race until she gets to ~30%.

Grabbing the shield sigil at the beginning of Rounds 3 and 4 of Stage 5 makes it a breeze. Just FYI. The ranged stuff will kill themselves. Not needed, but if you dont care about score, it's highly recommended. If could only use one sigil in the whole arena, it would be the shield sigil in round 3,stage 5.
