I have seen nothing that has been p2w added to the game and for me pay to win means just that, there is no item I can buy that will give me an obvious advantage in pvp, where I can one shot and not be killed.

Nothing we say will matter, if ZOS wants lockboxes in the game it will happen, the best way to say no to them is not buy them.
That's the only recourse you have.

This is the perfect compromise for people who missed out on a mount they really wanted, without really taking away the benefits of buying them on time.

The video posted here short cuts to exclusive mounts. Mounts are hardly P2W or did I miss other content in the video? Hence miss the outrage.

I'm more bugged by the fact that for a full player of the game, i.e. Trading, crafting, collecting, etc the game keeps getting made simpler and I dont get it. I get making core content accessible to all but for example Enchanting got made Way easy, provisioning Writs way easier (in fact wrecked the sales of rare recipes) harvesting top level stuff is just going to get easier.

I get for those that hate farming / crafting but foe those that enjoy that side of the game I don't get why everything has to be made simpler. Classic socialist views everyone can have it all. I dunno. I like effort / reward.

It's not about P2W (mind you I really don't care about P2W, I am not competing with anyone), it's about another trick to get customers to spend more.

Just like we have a cash shop currency instead of paying straight for items, so everytime we buy Crowns we are sure to have some left over ... guess I gotta buy some more to use those Crowns, gotta get my money's worth after all. Just like we have fake scarcity to have players buy things on impulse.

I hate that kinda stuff in any game, from DOTA 2 to Guild Wars 2. I can live with cash store currency, but RNG sucks balls. I want to buy things straight or I won't buy them at all. They'll be sure to make money off these lootboxes, but not my money.

guys the issue isn't pay to win. random packs aren't going to make this pay to win. but the bigger issue is the screw over this will do. suddenly instead of paying 7-20 bucks and getting the item we WANT, we'll be paying whatever the cost of the gambling box is and praying we'll get something we want. as more and more whales spend hundreds of dollars on these boxes, the focus will shift more and more to the random boxes. PLEASE ZOS, I left SWTOR because despite loving SW, the whole focus on gambling boxes destroyed the game for me. don't do this! gambling packs may inject cash, but it'll destroy the game! think of the value of your IP before you milk!

As long loot boxes will not be tradable noone can talk about p2w . Some people thinking that ZoS is charity fundation and doing this game pro bono. They need to make the moneys and they need to find new ways to get the moneys. There are real people earning moneys for their job in ZoS. As long as crown store gives no real adventage and it's purely cometic i have no problem with new items added to it.

I would not want this, as mentioned above the concentration of the developers would switch to making new mounts that everyone wants in order to make more money, and i like having limited buy time mounts, gives players who have played longer something for it that can no longer be obtained

People making a LOT of false statements here... so here are some FACTS...

First... 'There will never be pay to win in the Crown Store, they played BDO too and they hate what they did.'

Second... as far as items in the boxes 'Mounts and Pets (currently in the store and old limited time ones even the ones that never have been in the crown store on console, they can also have mounts/pets from digital collectors editons. Excluded: Imperial Edition and eso sub reward mount/costume)'

Third... they are completely revamping Pledge system so that players without DLC will not be left out anymore.
