New Motifs - Can there be more ways OR more of a chance to obtain them?

I don't know if this will be controversial, I hope not. I love crafting in ESO, especially crafting armor in many different epic looking styles, but I feel the new motifs (and even older ones like Trinimac, Malacath, etc) are a little too frustrating to get the chapters of. For example, I know a few friends and I would LOVE to craft some sets in the new Akatosh, Minotaur and Dark Brotherhood sets, but obtaining the whole books worth of chapters would mean constant dailies (with a small chance to receive one) or saving up enough gold to pay near 70-120k gold for ONE chapter. I have learned over the past few DLC's that the way ZOS has implemented the motif chapter hunting is simply as a reward from daily challenges, quests and world bosses. Is there anything wrong with this (imo)? No. Not at all, but I have found myself grinding those daily tasks and more often than not just being rewarded with a blue armour/accessory/weapon. Those weapons are usually just immediately dismantled or sold.

I would like to suggest upping the chances of being rewarded with a motif chapter in these dailies, or being found in other places such as Undaunted Gold Chests. The reason I say "I don't know if this will be controversial" is because Motifs are purely cosmetic in nature, and asking for Rare items to be made slightly more common seems to trigger some. They don't give you any kind of overall benefit other than looking pretty dapper. Rewarding more of these motifs wouldn't be anywhere near game breaking, fun ruining or unfair to any one. It would only serve to make those craft-crazy cosmetic lovers (such as myself) much happier.

It can definitely be annoying when you go on a barren rng run but then its great when you do finally get one, even if its a duplicate you know you can either swap it or sell it and buy one you're missing with the proceeds.

As there's you and a few friends if you all concentrate on different motifs so whoever gets the chapter its given to whoevers learning that one. That should speed up at least one of you knowing each style so they can craft for the group.

    Trinimac is old?

    I still haven't gotten any.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I've only got about 3 or 4 pieces of Trinimac. 1 or 2 of which I bought from guild stores. I forgot to mention I am on Xbox, don't know if that effects drop rates.

That's the thing though, most people get a motif and immediately read it, either because they want to or need inventory space, even if they aren't a high level crafter. I just wish they'd update the drop rates a little so I wouldn't have to ask friends for stuff they earned.

Think of motifs as a time sink or a gold sink. :) Collecting them yourself is a huge time sink. And as OP noted, RNG makes it not only difficult, but unlikely that one person will get all on their own.

Buying them can be expensive, but it doesn't have to break your bank. If you buy motifs when they are released, of course you will only see exorbitant prices. But, as with all commodities, prices will come down. Wait a week, or a month, or longer before you buy. The longer you wait, the lower prices will be, and generally, the more available they will be as well There is a fine edge to waiting however, since attention always shifts to new motifs, and that can make some older chapters harder to find since they are not farmed much. I have all motifs except the last three released. I bought most of them. I rarely pay more than 25k per chapter, and I try to pay much less. That includes the latest motifs as well. Shop around for bargains. Set a budget and don't break it. I still farm a little for new motifs. It's great to loot one I don't know, but I sell duplicates, and sell them cheap just to get rid of them. I try to buy from players doing the same....unloading cheap. It's a successful strategy for me, since I have most motifs and over 5 million in the bank.

Trinimac isn't hard to get though. :\ The dailies it drops from can be done solo, aren't very time consuming and aren't terribly difficult.

I've done the dailies to get Minotaur and Order of the hour, over twenty times and haven't gotten a single page. I don't know what is going on, I see others get one a day, and I get nothing, I am getting a bit upset over this, hopefully they fix this issue soon, I am not going to pay a lot of money for these sets, I rather buy Dro m'athra, which I have been doing, also been doing page runs for this trial to get pages.
I have been a member of ESO since April 4th 2014 but didn't get a code until recently when I asked.

RNG can be a b.... at times, but my personal, absolutely subjective, observation is that Trinimac and Malacath currently have a higher chance to drop (I do the Orisinium dailies currently on multiple chars to farm Briarheard weapons & jewlery) then the newer one.

Availability at the traders is always in flux, on my platform (PS4/EU) Ancient Orc is virtually non-existant currently.

I hate the daily grind for motifs. There's only so many times I can do it before it becomes just too painful. I grind it out for the motifs as long as I can stand it, then I'll buy the rest of the pages that I'm still missing from the guild traders just so that I don't have to do another damn daily quest.

Trinimac is cake, and I'm not even being funny.

Abrahas Watch, good lord, what a swift kick to the crotch this little pice of misery has been. Hous and I do mean hours of mindless pick pocketing, safe burglaries, and inventory management so I a,ways had what the covetous countess wanted and I'm still only at 8 of 14 chapters. This little pills actually made me take a break from the game it was such a mind numbing exercise in boredom.

Thieves guild from the Heists, can this game cater to nightblade any more oh wait Dark Brotherhood kill quests, either your a NB and can do theses in less then five minutes or your anything else and taking 45 minutes only to get spotted by an invisible enemy or a sleeping NPC to miss the perfect score better chance at a motif.

I hated these things when they were released and indidntbplay them. They added motifs to content I hate with absurdly low drop rates IMO and now once a day on 1 to 3 toons I'm doing content I don't like and font want to be doing.

I only recently figured this out for myself (and, of course, someone had posted the trick back in June): you can just do The Covetous Countess over and over, and it simply self-sustains since the items you need will be in the Laundered Shipments you earn.

You don't even have to accept and abandon the other quests: just back out of the Tip Board if it doesn't start with "Esteemed Thieves...".

It's still mind numbing, but WAY faster. While I enjoyed the safebox x 3 quests, I hated pickpocketing x 30. Instead, you could do this Countess trick 20 times in an hour; since 3/4 of them send you to Rawl'kha, I can almost always find a guildie to transport to.

As for the class advantage on the DB Sacraments and TG Heists: I keep a set of Night's Silence on all my toons, and a stack of Invisibility potions...and I still screw them up out of sheer impatience about half the time.

What annoys me is that they set up Minotaur VERSUS Order of the Hour: you can only get a chance at one or the other from the same Bounty Board each day. I'm at 2/14 each after a week...just added two new alts for more chances, and will probably max out my alt slots in the next few days for even more daily attempts.

Please up the drop rates for motifs. Crafters do not want to run these dailies/tasks over and over for RNG to make our efforts fruitless.

If motifs are intended to be a rare drop, through what task(s) do players propose motifs should be gathered?

I'm seeing that players don't like the quests or dailies ... should they be a rare drop in crafting writs? Just throwing out ideas.

I didn't think gathering Minotaur or Order of the Hour was that bad of a grind. It was just over 2 weeks on eight characters for me ... including a bunch of trading with other players.

I wouldn't mind if they had a chance to drop from crafting writs too. This would be a much better idea - crafters already do daily writs.

I have been running the quests on my 7 characters and have several days where there is not a single motif drop. Or when it finally does it's a duplicate. Also, if these dailies dropped worthwhile sets maybe it would ease the grind with them (who wants flanking, morihaus, sithis, etc.).
