We were able to get the helmet from cradle normal mode for the first week or so but now we can't

is it bugged or removed?

I guess it was bugged in the first week

You shouldn't be able to get a monster helm from normal so the bug was you getting it in the first week.

Sounds like you need to learn, I was literally in a group where a groupmate got the monster helm from Normal RoM, had the ability to trade it within the group and everything. A lot of questioning and "you're trolling" later and indeed it was a legit drop.

Now whether it's intended or not is the real question; the new Vet Dungeon final bosses (especially RoM) are disgustingly hard and RoM's monster set is really, incredibly lackluster.... so I could see it being intended. Or someone made a big oopsie.

This was only a few days ago as well.

They should only drop in Veteran mode, or else everyone would have everything without any actual effort.
Thank god Maelstrom weapons are still awarded for skill, on console at least.

The helm does drop in Normal mode, been trading with people in my group since release so they can get the pieces they need to continue with end game content.

Vet mode gives you a much higher chance of getting a helm. Almost a guarantee. The Normal mode gives you like a 20% chance for one person in your party to get a helm, which I have absolutely no issues with.

Yup, the helms for the new dungeons drop in normal mode. I've heard that you still have to do vet mode for the purple jewelry, though.

The chance for helms on vet was increased in dark brotherhood - before it could take 20-30 runs if unlucky - since then at least one person gets a helm most of the time - often times 3 people will all get it

I've done Veteran City of Ash well over 30 times and only have a lone, Propserous Skoria helm to show for it. RNG can be a real son of a gun, especially since most of those runs everyone linked the helms THEY got while I got blue loot.

At least now I can trade for them...

It's not uncommon. I ran vet dsrkshade countless times and never looted a helm. Ended up buying one from the vendor. Later on, once I already had the helm, it did end up dropping for me. Kind of annoying... But it is totally random.

Its possible some helms drop more or less than others though. I'm not sure. But being able to get one in 2-3 runs or having it "almost guranteed" isn't the experience for many players.

On topic... I've always understood that helms are only supposed to drop in veteran dungeons. I would agree with others in this thread who have said that.

If this has changed I'd like to see an official comment on it from zos somewhere. Otherwise itj wasn't working as intended.

Lol, i have 626 CP on console and can do any dungeon pretty much confident.

I was only saying in case if veteran dungeons drop not happened for me sooner..

In pc i have 200 CP and had once tried One dungeon and we were unable to kill mighty chudan.. these new dungeons are enjoyable but hard and require good team.

I've had to solo every boss in that dungeon when my allies die asap. They get the helm. I don't.

He (or she) is simply incapable of ever giving constructive criticism or advice without sounding arrogant. Worse, the advice is rarely worth listening to. Wish forums had an ignore button.

To answer the OP question, it was commonly thought that helms only drop in vet, but there are a lot of accounts that contradict that. It might be that they only drop in normal at lower levels, but until the devs confirm, there is no way to know if it is intended.
