I have heard that there is less lag and dashboarding from guildies who are using the new Xbox One S. We mainly do PVP in heavily populated campaigns. Is this the case with any of you?

Supposedly, the last patch helped with Lag in PvP, so if those changes came to the console, that could be some of the reason.

I'm not surprised, I think that with the Project Scorpio 4K Xbox One console we might see a slight improvement of 5fps and a very big maybe 10fps, but even then I don't expect very much. Unless maybe ZOS makes a 4K version for the new console's, but I don't think that they will and besides I fully expect both Sony's and Microsoft's 4K console's to have massive issues that will take a year or two to take care of. That's why I recommend to just use an external Hard Drive instead of the internal, because I've noticed with my 7200RPM External it is slightly better than the internal, but load times are still long and lag is still there.

The issues with this game can't be resolved by the console itself. The issues you describe at least...it's on ZOS' end largely.

Maybe things in your control may contribute like being wired vs wireless and having good bandwidth from your ISP and the correct router port settings.

Then your in the minority if that's the case if most players are having the issue than its on ZOs end.I can't honestly believe your not getting random load screens whenever you switch zones.

-There are two other threads where discussions have identified causes of lag to be linked to the number of quests in your quest log.

-There is also the issues with sound popping, crackling and other weird non-ESO sounds on headsets and DTS optical surround sound that only comes from this game when loading certain characters

-Entering towns where Undaunted Dailies occur seem to never load certain textures until after 1-3 minutes

-Inability to play in Orisnium, Elden Root, etc.

-Queuing in activity finder for any role or any character never joins a group since TG release.

-ESO Plus renews or is purchased and successfully charged on Xbox One but crowns are not credited to the accounts

-ESO Plus still is not in the xbox one store, listed on xbox.com or via smart glass

These are all specific to ZOS and not an xbox one related issue

I haven't talked to anybody who regularly plays in Cyrodiil that is not having issues on console. My guildie had many issues before he bought the new Xbox and is wired and has a super fast internet. I wondered if maybe it was because he had to reinstall the game so it was fresh. Another guildie had to reformat his Xbox so told me that was not the reason.

Maybe he now has more space on his Xbox? I don't know. I am getting mine August 16 but that is when the Hist is released so I won't know for sure either.

I'm gonna have to do this. Up until Thieves Guild I had been one of the lucky ones, but since Dark Brotherhood my screen looks like it's melting.

Weirdly enough the ONLY place in the game where I have virtually zero issues is the Imperial City. At least I can ruin duels without getting DC'd.

Well, I'd say no because depending on what you're doing, you should always have at least 4 - 5

    Cyrodil 4+
    PvE just doing quests 4-10+
Main Story 5+ (different DLCs included)
    Writ dailies 3+
    Undaunted 2+
    Raids and Dungeons ?+

My point is....ZOS needs to get on a couple of things and stop releasing any and all content because if update 11 makes things worse, I don't believe the game will be playable....

It's not to do with that it's how much you've done. My day 1 toon with no quests immense lag.

Stamplar that lived in vma and only ever done trials...no lag or loading issues at all. Something notable there. It's done nothing except vma and normal and trials. Same for magblade but that's ventured out a little now.

Hey boys and girls maybe i can add something to this covo

I have a xbox 1 Elite which as you guys know have SDD and my brother just traded his elite for the S ( still has the elite controller lolz) anyway i could not see that much of improvements between the two to be honest.

So maybe between HDD and SDD there might be a difference but between the elite and S its really hard to tell.

I will be waiting for Project Scorpio :)

I would not expect to see a major change with ESO on the S. Microsoft has stated existing games will play the same on the S as the original. The major change is the 4k video. Games will need to update to take advantage of 4k.

I been playing ESO since release on XB1 and on the Elite since release. I saw a difference when loading in highly populated areas. The characters do load from the black silhouette faster due to the SSD.

I have two characters. My alt plays with no issues before and after DB. My main was fine before DB but was having loading screens, lag and black silhouettes since DB. I deleted quests per Gina that I had prior to DB and all issues have been resolved on my main. I did keep all GC quests in the journal, which were taken after DB.

I noticed that with my Toshiba Canvio EXT 1TB 7200RPM HDD that my load times on ESO are a lot better than the internal by quite a bit. I can usually load into the game in under a minute depending on zone, this includes going through both menus, meaning the sever select screen and the character select screen. A more intense game like Fallout 4 though still takes forever mods or no mods, but it is still better than the internal, but only slightly. I'm somewhat hoping that when I get my Gears Of War 4 Xbox One S console that since the hardware is brand new that it would make a small difference, but somehow I doubt it. FYI I've had my Xbox One since Assassin's Creed Unity released back in 2014, it's the bundle that included AC4 & ACU.

If you install ESO on an external hard drive with a usb 3.0 connection and it will load faster on the xbox than using the internal hard drive. I don't think this helps crashes but I haven't had any long load times since moving the game to my external drive. USB 3.0 is faster than the SATA connection. Even more performance if you use an SSD.

I was thinking about using an external SSD drive but decided to order the Xbox one s. Incidentally, I have the original Xbox one and lately it has even been taking forever to boot up. My Templar is my main and day 1 toon and the one I play on the most. I haven't played on the others lately so do not know if that would effect the lag.
