Is this the patch maintenance or will there be a maintenance now + one in 9 hours?
No, the patch maintenance is in about 8 hours. This maintenance is to address the issue where some of you either got kicked out, or cannot log in. Things were going downhill and it was starting to affect more and more people, so it was a necessary evil.
Makes sense, any eta on them going back up or is it still unknown?

Keep in mind that pvp players are also extremely solo minded people. Damage Dealers run with resto staves and spam Healing Ward. Tanks don't slot taunt, because taking aggro is a bad thing. Healers often run with hybrid builds and have 1-hand and shield slotted.
In the harder pve dungeons, the lowest enemies are as strong and have as many hitpoints and mitigation as the Emperor/Empress of Cyrodiil. The bosses have difficult mechanics alongside millions of hitpoints.
Imagine the talk over teamspeak when the team struggles after 2 minutes in a pve dungeon.
Haha, I guess that is always this way, when one changes from PvE to PvP or the other way round - both are basically screwed at first, because it is so different.
Reminds me of a friend in EVE, who just does PvE and never did any PvP - and I showed him a fitting for my PvP ship - and he said "where is your armor repairer?" - and i explained that I do not need one, because before that repairer would have completed it's cycle I would have either won or be dead - just buffer tank and high alpha burst damage - that kind of thing was totally alien to him. Quick kill or die basically.
In ESO the pvp crowd cares too little about their dps, healing or tanking - so they run around with hybrid builds, to have better defences and more utility and fights take a long time. I rush in with pure pve build & gear for dps or healing - so I either kill fast or I'm killed fast.
I really don't mind dying a lot, as long as I can kill just as fast. I just hate when fights drag out ...I usually play at late nights, and after a little alcohol, so my patience in a fight is lowoh and the zonechat is precious in Cyrodiil, because banter is more accepted within that community... I sometimes just go there to read the drama.

Not yet, but will let you know as soon as we have a better idea.
That's the oposite of ESO pvp, on top of that healing and damage dealth on players got a 50% nerf too... It's what I love about EVE though ...I have never played it, but I like to read about the pvp drama and fun there, I love how brutal the pvp in that game can be.That is how I do it as well in EVE PvP - just buffer tank and high burst damage - kill as quickly as possible or go under. Guess most do it like that, there is no reason to stretch it out - if I cannot kill him and he not me - well, then we part ways and good. Otherwise, one has to die.

Oh, ZOS has a team in the Olympics as well. Great
Developers doing sports. Oh boy do I have some stories about that disaster...
Please tell us, sounds fun already. :P
Yeah, "fun".
So a bunch of us used to play softball together after work. There was one game where I was running to 2nd and they threw the ball to get me out, but it was a low throw. The guy swung his arm up when he caught the ball, but didn't realize I was so close and he uppercut me right in the face. Broke my nose and everything.
Then there was the game against Firaxis where a ball hit our Audio guy right in the head, and we took him to the ER.
Let's not forget another game where @ZOS_RichLambert was in the outfield and ran into a ditch, and screwed up his knee so bad he was out the rest of the season.
Oh, and there's the other game where one of our artists broke his arm throwing the ball from the outfield.
I can't make this up!

Untrained is always a health risk - that is basically the problem. Well ok, a broken nose cannot really be avoided with training - that was just unlucky.

It's softball...seriously softball...six year old girls play softball in the U.S.
It's more about being non-athletically inclined geeks than it is about being "untrained".
Nothing wrong with that though...I'm a geek myself.
I CAN play softball without dying though.

I just had her in my lap, and was balancing my laptop on the couch. I've become really good at multitasking.
