Problems joining group if name or race changed

Just to add my 2 cents......

No changes at all, no unusual characters in name, yesterday I ended up forming the group because nobody else could........

Today for the first couple of groups I again did the inviting, then suddenly I became bugged and could no longer invite.

Also the people who cannot invite, once in the group we find we cannot assign them as leader.

This all happened on one of my characters(my main), haven't tried any others as yet.

@ZOS_GinaBruno this is a massive problem especially for Trials we often swap the leader about so people can follow the crown in certain situations, for example, if you can't give your tank the crown it's not good.

On my 1st created character; single name all letters no special characters. No changes (name, race etc etc).
Running round in IC sewers (PC/Mac EU server) and had an invite 3 times from a character I'd linked up with. Chose F to join every time and had a 'failed to join group' error each time.

Goodness knows what the other player thought....whose this idiot joining in on my battles but refusing to group

PLEASE FIX THIS INSANELY ANNOYING BUG.
Can't group, can't accept groups, can't offer group invites, can't pass lead!!! This is the literal worst.


I don't think it's associated with name or race change though.

Yeah, it's sounding that way. We do have an outstanding bug that sounds very similar to this, and isn't tied to Race Change. Will follow up tomorrow on the status and when it may be fixed.

Is the bug regarding apostrophes in userIDs also being addressed in the same fix? The same problem occurs for many users with such an ID; they can only be invited or whispered if you use their character name. (Which, allegedly, has been a "known issue" since 2014 but still seems to exist.)

There are so many problems with the group finder right now.

• Can't invite a member of the Guild.
• Can't invite a friend.
• Can't invite a member of the same Alliance.
• Can't invite a member of the same Alliance while physically standing in the same place.
• Once someone finally managed to get the group put together, she couldn't pass lead to anyone else.
• When she logged out, my character became lead. I kicked her from the group, invited her other character, switched the dungeon to Veteran and warped in. When I arrived at the dungeon, she was lead again on her other character.

I dind't change name or class or w/e but I can't get invite or invite many of my friends, it is very frustrating.

Definitely not related to name/race change.

Group lead logged, lead passed and bugged our entire group. New lead disband so I could start the group over but alas, every single member of the group was bugged so none of us could invite/accept. Even a relog didn't fix it, had to get another guildie (who wasn't in the original group) to start said group over.

To be clear, I meant next Monday's patch (August 8th), not the one we had on August 1st. Sorry about that.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Groups are still bugged and require a zone change or relog to see the group. Still shows that a person joins and leaves group immediately. Mondays patch did not fix this.

Monday's patch did fix this for me, I was able to form groups last night on my previously bugged character without issue. Sucks that it's still bugged for some folks though.

The bug has nothing to do with race/name change. Changed names and race of 2 characters Sunday and was invited to a group with one, no issues. Last night I grouped with both and no issues.
