Adjust stealth in Cyrodiil, please

How is it that 15+ enemies can be completely invisible to me while in an open field, in broad daylight, 12 meters away?

I'm so tired of this game's main PVP zone overly-rewarding players who sneak all the time. Dealing with a small team of cloaking nightblades is tough enough, but this whole "army hiding in an open field" tactic is so infuriating. Having to constantly follow a large group of people to ensure my safety from teams of invisible players or having to constantly sneak myself, isn't fun.

Can we make stealth actually make sense, please? I should be able to see someone, who is in an open field, in broad daylight, at 30 meters - at least. Then I could actually re-route myself from danger instead of running into an invisible wall of death. Please, adjust stealth in Cyrodiil.

There was an idea i remember thrown around on the forums not to long ago that would fix this issue. The more players in stealth would create a very large detection radius. So if you were a lone player sneaking up on 30 people in stealth you would be able to see them and react miles ahead before they would see you. I personally think it's a great idea.

In an open field I could see this happening, but if they hide on a cliff or whatnot it's perfectly viable to large-scale ambush.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. People will realize more and more just profound of a negative impact PVP has had on this game and player base. As well as just how horrible PVP is. PVP used to be amazing and solid. Now? It's a cesspool.

@Ch4mpTW PvP balance and performance have problems, but the community is super strong. It's what keeps this game alive. ZOS has also been improving the problems steadily over the last few patches. .

Anyways yea I'm not too much of a fan of the stealth mechanics. Maybe make full stealth a medium armor passive and buff invis pots? Increasing detection radius when in the open would be nice. I don't think this should be ZOS' priority though.

I don't think stealth is a problem, they should maybe have less up time on it? What I think is a problem for PvP is 100% block chance and the lack of parry and dodge ratings, it's either 100% or nothing with those things and I don't know how that could easy to balance.

If people had to gear for block chance, hit rate, dodge etc then they could remove a few utility skills; and the lack of certain utility skills in PvP would help to balance everything else

Just my two cents. I also find tanking interesting in how blocking takes stamina rather than health. Still don't understand the ease of balancing

I actually sort of like it. I dont know why but to me it is one of the most amusing things i can have happen. Just strolling around and bam 10 guys just rise up and kill me.

It always sort of makes me think of these movies where the out numbered forces hide in holes in The ground and jump out when the enemy comes by.

Agreed. Also, here's a fun fact. The other morph for Inner Light actually helped quite a bit in dealing with stealth players back in the day. But then the GankBlades whined about how unfair of an edge it gave non-stealth players, and it was changed to the crap we have now.

Technically Radiant Magelight is supposed to do what it did before, except all but the stealth-revealing applies just by being slotted.

There should be a simple to acquire magic device (not inexpensive) that serves as a stealth detector (something like the guards/sentries in the thieves guild DLC). It goes off at 50 meters range if it detects magical weapons, armor or staves in the area. Range increases by 25 meters for each additional source. It should burn through a Grand Crystal for every 4 hours of use. It can be put on your equipment wheel and toggled on or off.

This would permit players to be warned if they are walking into an ambush, unless the ambusher was not wearing any magical equipment. Employing it with a group would be impractical as it would be going off constantly. Hence during an assault/defense/open battle, not too useful. However, very useful for lone scouts.

I like being able to be in stealth in the middle of a field among my army buddies. We don't do that much at all though. Normally we ride on our horseys though the fields to steal your forts.

I understand the annoyance though. You see one enemy standing by himself in the middle of a field, apparently digging through his inventory or playing the flute, and you think, WOOT, easy AP. When you approach to kill the poor sap, WHAMO, his buddies pop out of stealth and slaughter you!

I love doing that, I also love stealthing my whole raid and waiting until a few unsuspecting players take a resource, then BAM!! Massacre!! Happens to me enough times as well, all part of the game. OP needs to respect and understand that.

Ok let's just destroy the NB class even more when it comes to stealth and ignore more than a dozen ways stealth can be countered. L2P. Use one of the counters and make a gank proof build.

The best work around to prevent this from happening is to wear "the Sentry Set". This set will extend your detection radius by 50%. With this set you will see anyone in stealth before they see you.

You cannot see nightblades who use cloak compared to the Radiant Mage Light Toggle though. That was what made the Toggle so amazing. I used to combo both with Sentry back in the day and i could see Nightblade's cloaking from miles away.

Sentry is alright at doing the job but it's defiantly not as good as it used to when combo'd with RML. I may pick it up again once it gets daggers. I miss that set for sure, i loved being a sentry. I'll need to do some testing to see if the Utility/Damage Sentry provides would sway me from using Vipers Sting.

    Ok, serious reply.

It is quite easy to memorize/learn where these sneak groups are going to sit. Once you got that, it is similarly easy to either bypass those locations or prepare (e.g. by sneaking where necessary) for them.

Sneak groups lose their advantage if they have to move fast. Not rushing solo through choke points and not using the main reinforcement routes helps a long way to not fall for them.

Alternatively, countering them by sneaking in with your group and have a tank run behind you openly and jumping them once they jump the tank, is really satisfactory.

Sneaking is a fantastic mechanics for PvP and adds a lot of flavour. Removing it because some can't deal with it is preposterous.

invisibility should not exist in a game with PvP IMO. Not in stealth, not with potions, and certainly not for an entire class to use as crutch.
making it harder to see you in stealth is one thing, but going completely invisible? ....never should have been a thing to begin with
