ESO PC Graphics Outshine ESO on Console

I like ESO on console, playing for an Year on PS4. Today I tried on my new PC and found ESO graphics amazingly better than PS4. Just wow...

I hope with PS4 Neo or Xbox Scorpio release, ESO console graphics will be on par with PC. I was always thinking about poor ESO graphics comparing other games.

I don't think it will improve graphics that much, they usually prefer that companies get more efficient at creating console games; which is always part of the problem with newer consoles.
Any PS4 games with really good graphics have ways to minimise other things. One thing I dont understand is how eso on PS4 focuses so much on creating good shadows; I'd rather low shadows and high ground texture detail

It's roughly any PC with a dedicated graphics card as of now that can run the game

Any graphics card GTX260m and newer on PC look waaaay better and that's not even able to play this on PC due to direct X but it looks that much better.

I'm just not sure what consoles offer anymore in 2016.

It used to be it was easier to just plug in a game, turn it on and play, but that is no longer the case. Consoles have basically the same setup process as PC's these days with the loading the game on a hard drive etc..

It also use to be PC's were in an office in some other room being played on tiny screens, while the console was in the living room hooked up to the big screen. But today many PC's are located in play rooms or living rooms and are easily hooked up to any TV with an HDMI cable.

Controller can be used by PC too, so not that either.

The only thing left I can think of is expense. If you don't already have a moderately descent PC, it can be expensive to transform it into a gaming PC if you need to upgrade CPU, GPU, MB, RAM and possibly HDD. But for many simply buying a $300-400 video card will put them at a performance level greater than the newest consoles.

Game exclusives are another thing I guess.

Well, I would totally agree if they lower graphics on PS4 to WOW-Style but *** GIVE ME LAGFREE AND 30 FPS+ GAMEPLAY!

There are youtuve Videos on PC where people play with 60fps and this looks amazing, not the graphics itself. On Ps4 if Im ina 1v1 and have no lags FPS are around 30 FPS (dropping down to 20-30) and that just sucks...

but yeah it mostly depends on your GPU. playing on a laptop myself with 5fps in trials is kinda horrible :pensive:

For me, it was affordability and convenience. When my much-loved but very ancient gaming rig finally gave up, it had reached the point where upgrades just wouldn't deliver the performance I wanted. To make matters worse, it also happened to coincide with a number of educational financial commitments and personal demands on my time. Put simply, I couldn't justify getting the PC replacement I desperately wanted. My PS4 was a temporary compromise - bought very cheaply in a sale.

For what it is, I think the PS4 is a decent bit of kit. The ESO graphics aren't as good as any reasonable mid-price PC can produce, but they're not terrible by any stretch. I really, really miss my gaming rig and I know that the PC folk enjoy many great benefits that I don't, including some stunning graphics performance. But the PS4 has meant I can still enjoy this game, and for that i'm grateful (and pretty relieved).

Anyway, apologies for the slightly off-topic ramble.

Graphics are perfectly fine. I think ESO looks great! :)

I just want my FPS to stay between 20-30, and for stuff to load (and no more tons of random loading screens introduced mostly in DB).

More expensive thing performs better. Fascinating. And are the screenshots there all that much different? Maybe something got lost in the translation to here on the tablet I'm using. We've reached the point of "Who cares?" It all looks pretty good.

I sacrifice a slight change in graphics to be able to install a game, sit down and play it. When I want to play I know it works.

For me, quality of every other game aspect is a little heavier than whether or not it looks as good as PC.

Really depends on your PC hardware.

I'm running ESO on such low settings, it looks a bit like Minecraft. The youtube clips I've seen of PS4 and Xbox versions look much better.

If I was upgrading from PS4/Xbox to next generation console I'd be more interested in pushing the frame rate up closer to 60fps than fancy settings.

Playing 3440x1440 on pc looks awesome and the consoles cant do that (at least not at this time) that said I also have it on the xbox one and it looks pretty good to me so while I agree with your statement I feel either option is fine.

Isn't it more like graphic depends on graphic card (hence . . . erm . . graphic) and the performance depends on your CPU?

Considering some graphics cards cost more than the price of a console (sometimes much more if you go bleeding edge, very high end), I cant see console graphics being on par with up to date PC graphics, although they have improved.

Yeah man same here! Sucks for all the console players that can't get a stable, comfortable playing experience with eso. It's nice to get home after work sit down on my couch boot up my glorious comp grab the controller and play eso with lush visuals, 60+ fps, my addons that completely refine my experience, all in the comfort of my living room.
