Has there been any talk of being able to change your armor style through crafting? Would be nice...

From the community, yes. From the devs, no.

Yeah, people have been suggesting this for two years. Very annoying that it doesnt exist. Most sets are a mix of crafting and dropped so it makes it almost impossible to get sets to match, especially when each set will look slightly different with the same dye color applied.

If you follow the money, their solution is costume dying. What's even worse is it is already in the game for those with the imperial edition (again, follow the $$$). Shame, that I have no interest in making anything imperial for the most part. I did do it with Martial Knowledge back in the day because I thought it was really ugly.

If you have the Imperial Edition, and roll an Imperial, you can change most armors to Imperial. There are some dropped sets in unique styles that can't be converted.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I really hope they implement this someday, especially when they release so many new motifs every DLC. I've got four characters outfitted in CP160 gear and don't want to completely re-craft a whole new set only to change the look for a new motif.

    FTFY.

Honestly, the Imperial Edition allows you to transmute armor, weapons, and (weirdly) jewelry on any character, not just imperials.

That would be amazing, i'm not a fan of most armor set aesthetics and the costumes we have aren't the most flattering.
