Devs asking us not to go into Orsinium so lower craft skills to lvl9? Honest question here.

As most of you know the Devs have asked us NOT to go into Orsinium because of the crashing loop. I my self have fallen victim of this 5 times now and have had to get a DEV to move my character to a safe area on multiple occasions.

My question is this.
Are we supposed to lower our crafting skills to lvl 9 so we can at least do writs? Because all of the lvl 10 writ turn ins are for Orsinium because I am ESO plus I have absolutely no control over not having to turn in my writ quest there.. If I do go there I run the risk of sending in a ticket and waiting for a dev to move my character AGAIN.

If ZOS cannot find a fix for this crashing bug then they could at least do a hot fix that will move the turn in for level 10 writs in a different zone that will not crash players to desktop and make the character unable to log into the game.

So the question to the players in my position.... Are you personally lowering your crafting skills so you can at least get some kind of credit from writs until ZOS get it together and find a way to fix this crash loop nightmare?

I would do tier 9 writs anyway. It's the smarter gold per hour option.
In craglorn, you have chance to get nirnhoned which substantially increases your gph.

    I see.

It is just frustrating that those of us that are already level 10 will have to reroll our points just because of this. But I guess it is the only option if we want to do writs for the foreseeable future. :/

Guess I am off to spend gold on a stat makeover that ZOS is forcing upon me lol.

It is like a stealth gold sink lol

Maybe include your platform since this thread is probably not relevant to all platforms. On PC I've never had an issue getting into orsinium or any other zone.

We asked the Devs many times for a PC section in the forums and a console section since most topics apply to one or the other and not both and most fail to include which platform they're referring to.

    My bad..
Sorry I took it for granted that everyone that knows or has had this issue would know "As I am sure you do" that this was for me on Xbox, But I have had it happen to my son one time on PS4, but it seems to be mostly the xbox that is plagued with this the most.

Well I play Xbox and can do writs I just pick my rank 10 writs up in craglorn port to Shatul way shrine and just run up the the writ drip off and run back out as fast as possible so I can still do writs.Plus I do rank 9 on my alt.

But you need 60 night wood alone for it and farm is too time consuming. Tier 9 mats now are too expensive to buy vs the possibility of getting nirn.

If they made a vendor sell them it would be far better as an interim measure. Like 1k a stack is a better way forward for the time being.

Go to northern craglorn there are lvl.9 matz everywhere. 1 hour should get you what you need for those writs. I to have had to do mine in craglorn as im afraid of getting stuck in wrothgar.

What happens if you don't have the DLC? You said you subscribed to ESO+, so you automatically have the DLC.

What if you canceled ESO+? Would the turn in location revert to Craglorn? If so, I think that's the best solution. It solves your problem, and sends ZOS a message -- "I'm not paying you anymore until you fix your stuff!"

Another option "One I think would be best for everyone" is to allow the player to CHOSE exactly what level writ they want to do by the town they pick up/start a writ from.

That way if you are max level and still want to do 9s for Nirn you could and it would also allow players to avoid the problem of not having the correct mats for the level writ they are cornered into doing simply because of crafting rank.

I just do not understand why this was not how it was designed to begin with. This alone would keep people from the frustration of
    1. Not having the correct mats for the ONLY writ they are allowed to do because of craft rank
    2. Allow the player to chose what writ rewards they are shooting for."Farm for Nirn even though you are no longer R9"
    3. Allow the players to avoid problem areas ORSINIUM at the moment.

As it is now if you are ESO plus and are rank 10 crafting you are forced into Orsinium and risking having your character stuck in a crash loop and not able to even play him/her until your support ticket is read and the devs move your character.

What? They actually said this? Really? That just blew my mind. I've never heard a company tell their customers to not player their expansion because it's so jacked up.

Moving the writ turn it makes too much sense. They'll never do it.

I do love my crafting bag, but I'd give it up for a few months if I was locked out of an entire DLC due to an unfixed bug.

Well, investment of time yields larger gold sums. There are circles you can run in Craglorn for 60 minutes a day to farm those tier 9 mats. In 90 minutes I can get 800k unrefined voidstone on my circle. I invest maybe 3 hours a week to replenish mine. If you don't enjoy node harvesting, then you can put time into farming any gold zone dungeon and deconning the drops. I did that prior to discovering my craglorn farm spot.

I have about 8 or 9 toons now doing craglorn writs, I break 1.2 million a week in gold sales.
There's a reason why tier 9 mats are highly prices, because the tier 10 writs are pretty stupid (ESPECIALLY the Woodworking one since Ruby wood is dirt cheap)

I can move stacks of nightwood at 5k a stack right now on PC.

Basically you can't have your pie and eat it too. You can't spend all your time in Cyrodiil and expect to be raking in 1 mill+ week.

No your missing the point. If I HAVE to go Craglorn if zos tell me to not go to wrothgar where red mats are a plenty then why the hell should we have to spent 3hrs a week farming mats that have no purpose other than for writs.

Honestly, you can GET the writs ANYWHERE, so u should be able to hand them IN at any town.

It really doesn't make much sense that one can pick them up in daggerfall, yet, somehow, it was someone from wrothgar who posted them?

Seriously the idea of having truck off to some random place to hand them in based on the level was silly (Esp considering that one can pick them up anywhere)

Just let us hand them in ANYWHERE. Done deal. (Although no, this is NOT a 'fix' for the issue the op, and many, many others have, its something that SHOULD be part of the base game and not some 'ploy' to force us to buy a DLC)

You can pick up Writs in Hew's Bane, too.

So why can't I turn them in there? And if it's never intended for us to turn them in there, then why can I pick them up?

When I was crashing, it tended to be within Orsinium but it didn't matter how I got there. If I went through the Orsinium wayshrine or the Shatul and just ran my way in, I would usually crash as I was crafting my writs. The clothier station was notorious for crashing me.

Now I do my writs in Craglorn but turn them into Orsinium via the Shatul wayshrine. I am in and out of Orsinium in under a minute and it avoids my crashing but I've had to stop using the bank there completely.

If you deactivate the DLC you should be able to turn your writs in at Craglorn. If you bought it with crowns i don't know how to do that, but if you are a subscriber you can cancel your sub and once it lapses your writs should go to Craglorn.
