Maybe Tweak Malubeth?

I was going around in IC today with my Heavy Armour Stam DK.

I got ganked by a Magicka Nightblade and his Malubeth Set procced on me. I don't do massive burst damage but rather wear down targets over time, however due to the use of Maulbeth I could not deal enough damage to kill him, I could not break it by getting away as he would just Teleport to me. He then killed me.

Later on the exact same Magicka Nightblade jumped me again, his Malubeth didn't proc and after a medium length fight I killed him.

This makes me think that Malubeth could use a tweak or two. Perhaps lower it's effectiveness slightly but at the same time increase it's proc chance so it's more reliable. Even if it is only changed in PvP.

Thoughts?

I can see how average magicka nb are comparing Stamina builds..

You should doge roll to get away and break beam.

I think we need to hear something official about Malubeth performance because this is the 100th post on the topic. Some say it's fine, some say it isn't, apparently both sides of the debate are "scrubs". I don't wear it anymore because I don't like exploits, perceived or otherwise, but I'd like to know if the set is working as ZOS intends rather than as other players think it should.

Malubeth is the " cheese build of the update " right now and the best solution for now is use major and minor defile.
Other than that get a zerg to out DPS the healing.

Maye be you were also snared, my player died with this beam once only that time I got stunned first..

Dodgeroll works good for me, definitely u also need to heal to survive earlier took damage. U shld also root or snare other player to plan timely escape from beam..

Out of 2 lengthy fights it proc'd once and your asking for changes? You lost 1 out of 2 fights and something needs to change?

Then I got nothing try adding minor defile through defiling poison ?

I was wearing Malubeth on my sap tank, very powerful since every attack I did healed me and with 30% increased healing while the beam held it took a good amount of people to bring me down. And it's definitely not easy to break the beam because Lotus Fan will find you where ever you run.
Until I hear something official about the set, it's back in the bank though.

If u were snared and dot then u were obviously gonna had tough time.

I do not agree to nerf this set, If it has some problem then Developers should fix..

I'm not saying to directly nerf it. Turning up the proc chance while slightly toning down healing the should keep it at a similar potency to what it was before.

There are only 6% chance to proc, it's already very lower.

I don't know the state of Malu on console (as in, its exact behavior), on PC however, from what I've seen, Malubeth scales with the number of targets. It will always tick at the same rate, but the +30% extra healing seems to have a chance to proc for every single target, hence why I couldn't replicate the huge numbers on one target.

So basically, if 10 targets are hitting you within range, you get a potential +300% healing received. Not bad... The only case where Malubeth truly works "as intended" is when you're facing a single opponent.

A friend was testing it last night. All okay, 1k healing ticks, them bam, there'd be a couple of 9k ticks. If this is working as intended, we need ZOS to say so, but it doesn't smell right.

This .... I was thinking the same thing. I guess in OP's mind he feels he should have beat him both times but then I am sure the NB was saying to his self .....damn the DK was wearing ( X ) and I could not kill him that last time the first time my MAL proced and saved me....................

Zenimax already knows Malubeth has an issue that needs fixing and once it is it should seem considerably less op than it does now.

Read my above response to that statement which people are blindly just agreeing with. This is by no means my first few encounters with Malubeth. The time I used as an example was just to present how the Set seemed very Hit / Miss. I have fought lots of people with Malubeth and it screws me everytime since I use heavy armour and cannot do burst damage.

The seconds fight where you jumped me there was little competition and I beat him with little issues. Due to this being the case and seeing so many other people get so much more powerful due to Malubeth I thought that it might be a good idea to increase the proc chance so it is more reliable however also decrease how much healing it provides so it does not make you invincible when fighting someone who does not deal Burst Damage.

If it was fixed then great but as for a link all I can suggest is search around the forums as I would have to do the same to acquire it.

I would really appreciate that.
I can wear Malubeth on one of my builds and I do not because it is so cheesy
But it really fits perfect with the total concept of that build
Also when the bug is tackled and the set is somewhat tweaked down
Now I have to wait until ZOS has tackled the bug.......... wait for how long ???

Seen it in practice a number of times. You'll get them to 20% execute be firing off your executes and bam. Purple beam, next thing you know your health is dropping slowly and they're back to full health in seconds.
There's a reason why there are tonnes of threads about this.

To be fair, malubeth is fine when used by a burst damage person. The chance for it to proc before you kill them isn't that high anyway. But when it's used by a tanky ass DK or templar it's just a mess and I usually just leave the fight if I see it proc against one of them.

Malubeth is currently bugged.

Without changing builds, sometimes it procs for 500 heal per second (which lines up with the damage), and sometimes it procs for 14k+ heals per second.

It's literally a bugged set. I've worn it since the fall, and it just started behaving this way in the last two patches. Naturally, I stopped wearing it...
