They should take it down for a week if that's what it takes, to fix the damn lag. How are you sposed to beat vet maelstrom when you can't even bar swap to your shield and buffs.

It would be good if they did that, but the last overly long patch didn't give me much hope, since it didn't seem to fix anything.

It's server maintenance, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a patch. And to be perfectly honest, if it is/was, the one thing they're not fixing is the lag. Get's worse all the time and nothing is done about it.

It's maintenance. Might not even be on ZOS' end; last time it was because the data center which hosts the EU megaservers took them down.

Thinking about the pro's off a long maintenance for the game...

    Oh yes...
    NPC's in Trueflame
... can hear birds sing today instead of arrows
... no (zerg)trains rushing through their villages
... fort guards got a day off...
(add some more if you want)

good job @ZOS.. You made some some people happy in the european realm

Well it's a Tuesday, quite a lot of people work during the day - more so than at night I believe considering prime time is somewhere between 6pm and 9pm.

^^ indeed, updates are done on a 1 by 1 basis normally. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the host doing work not even ZOS.

    2pm here. U.K.

Yes there are different time zones.

Someone is always going to complain whatever time they do maintenance. MMO's require server maintenance. Suck it up, sport.

Does it matter? If you were at work you prob dnt get in till 5pm and the first thing on most peoples mind is not to jump on a ps4 game. Like i said zos should take the servers down fix the lag and quit messing about with useless crown store stuff and what ever other stupid things people like to moan about like how the npcs are not looking at you when they talk to them ROFL.

You literally can't please everyone on a server that is used in time zones around the world. By British Summer time, this was in the low hours, while if you live in Australia, this ate up the peak playing hours. There is literally no safe time on a server used internationally.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Actually it's 9am and they're working on the same time zone as me which means most people still have a full day of work ahead of them, including ZOS.

In most international games prime time is 9-11pm GMT. Best to be seen in Second Life, where parties are scheduled when most people have time to join the party and those times are chosen by the players (called residents there) themselves. They do not schedule those when not many are online - and they choose normally a time between 1pm and 3pm pacific time (what is Second Life time), which is 9-11pm GMT.

I suspect it's the data center again this time, given that there's no corresponding maintenance on the PC NA server this week.

For those confused between patches and maintenance, always check the announcement at the top of the forum. It will either say "patch maintenance" or "maintenance" and therein lies a clue as to whether it involves a patch or not.
