Maelstrom weapons are a 50% chance on the last chest. 100% chance for a weapon if you qualify for a weekly placement.

Leaderboard scoring only applies to runs done in one sitting, or rather done without leaving the arena or logging off.

Only 50% chance stinks. I definitely understand your reason for not wanting to farm that horrible place for hours on end, only to not get anything worthwhile.

Thanks man I worked super hard to beat it. I've cleared it twice now. Made leader boards on Xbox one this week. Only scored 127k though. Should have done better but round 5 killed me... It's the only one I actually struggled with to be honest. Platform 3 kept breaking and I wasn't focused. I kept trying to zero him down from 30% instead of attacking the adds. Grabbed power ups a few times when I didn't really need to also. But I'll just keep scoring higher I think.

Do you completely understand the mechanics of the first boss? I find that being able to fully understand what the boss casts and what skills he uses that do mass amounts of damage and how to avoid them will help you to complete it.

For the first boss he starts out very simple basically allowing you to just apply a lot of damage on him. He then summons adds, teleports and begins casting several magic attacks at you. As a Dk, you can reflect these. What I do, is lay out tons of damage on the boss, as soon as he teleports I begin killing the adds and cast reflective scale in between abilities killing the adds. Once the adds are down, time to lay it on the boss again. He teleports in a clockwise circle and only has about 560k health which is relatively weak compared to the boss in round 7 that has 1.2 million health. The first round boss is rinse and repeat killing adds then laying damage on the boss. Remember dodge roll sparingly and blocking is also your friend. But use those wings to reflect that shots he's throwing at you.

Im new at trying the arena on vet lvl iv been running it on normal to just get better,
thanks this will help il give it a try, I do tend to use the wings alot but I think I forget towards the end and thats what gets me, im not gonna quit trying, since my first complete on normal im enjoying the content I just cant seem to get past the first area on vet but like the normal it took many tries to complete it

I found that veteran was extremely more difficult than normal. When running normal it kind of felt like I was on beginner islands. I think the difficulty gap should not be as wide as it is by making normal a tad bit harder.

I understand why the veteran is way harder. But I also understand what you are saying. Its for sure a double edged sword. Veteran is not impossible which should be noted. Honestly after beating it twice, I feel like its really not as bad as people make it out to be and it is seriously satisfying when you beat it.
