Is there any point to this set with rally being such a good heal and already giving major brutality? On a stam dk is what I'm looking at it for.

It can be very expensive to get it and the jewelry only comes in healthy so you lose out on stamina. However it's great if you wanna using sword and board with bow. Even better for a templar too it gives great mobility that you don't normally have. Love not being forced to use two handed anymore.

I think it's worthless. You can get major brutality from pots or skills. Why waste a 5 piece bonus on it when you can get another 5 piece bonus and MB from those pots/skills?

Well it is a neat set that offers utility but in the exchange of overall output. It allows you to run something like bow/bow or bow/S&B without having to use pots for the buff, or simply to allow you to slot another skill other than a buff skill. Problem is the 5 set is usually pretty significant addition dps wise and this 5 set offers only a change in optional setups without actually increasing your dps potential. The fact that the jewelry only comes in healthy makes it all that much more worse. Literally it is accepting a lower dps potential in order to be able to run a non traditional build.

I guess main reason why peeps use 2H is Rally heal, not weapon damage buff.

I love it. WD sits at a constant 3700, stamina at 38k, health at 20k, never have much problem with anything. I tried changing to Hundings Rage and Skirmisher and Viper and they all reduced armour to horribly low levels while giving very little in return. Oh, they boosted my stam regen from 1600 to 2000 and added 5% critical (and extra crit hit every 20 hits...)

Because you ALWAYS have the bonus up. Don't need to use pots or skills (then you can unse inmo or invis pots instead of MB)

Why waste a skill slot when you can get MB from a set bonus?


I run DKS on my Stamblade and i really like the extra skill slot ...

i m putting together a DKS set for my stam dk- i wanted the speed as much as the brutality bonus, i can unslot igneous and put in another skill- esp useful for solo maelstrom, etc, which is why i wanted it- a cheaper version of the vicious ophidian basically. but the cost is large in terms of sacrificing a lot of slots in my armour and jewellery to get the bonus.

i have a question though- I'm running 5 piece hunding, dreugh daggers and jewels, what bow and 2 pieces armour can i put together to maximise my stamina- or compensate for the loss? right now its painfully low. marksman?

I guess that depends on your class and build setup. I wouldn't use it on my stamsorc, but I use DW/Bow and wouldn't give up critical surge for anything.

it is a bad set, unless you want the speed bonus but even then you can use a bow and get it or rapids. dks have a great way to get major brutality and it give minor brutality too. only class that might run it is a stamplar.

it is definitely not "cheaper version of the vicious ophidian", but if you insist on using it i would go with night silence and us your bow bar for regen, 2 piece is max stam 3 is regen, or get hawk's eye, that has 2 max stam on the 3 piece. in all honestly i would drop DKS and use leki jewelry and one weapon. with either one kena or BS and the sets i have mentioned.

In my opinion there is no point using that set. Rally has become the most crucial ability for all stamina classes nowadays. As a nightblade, its the only heal that does not take you out of stealth so its a must have.

Until Rally gets a nerf and stamina receives other alternatives to healing (or just roll dodge cost removed after Rally gets Nerfed), Rally must stay on stamina players bars.

Gank builds can get away with using it but i personally could not do with just Vigor. I also get to use Clever Alchemist instead of this set which adds crazy burst.

in a word no. it is the same buff and that is one of things that makes this set bad.

It's not great but fun for the speed bursting just to relieve boredom
Also if your a potion cheapskate it's worth considering , actually is probably the best non potion speed buff in game. It doesn't break stealth proccs on any kill and a long duration

For a dk specifically:

Pve dps - it's not bad coz investing in that healthy jewelry saves you from one shot mechanics and you don't have to buff weapon damage in your rotation, and you get and extra dot.

Though it is for casual players that don't chug pots on cool down.

In pvp - only viable if you run troll king as 2 piece undaunted then run a weapon damage proc set like seventh legion, extreme tankiness and pressure, green dragon blood will "burst heal" you out of execute range and also proc troll king, after a vigor and troll king procs you a very hard to bring down and the more u get hit the more u heal and ur weapon damage goes up.

DW wield sword and board here, for reverb bash and blocking.

Drop hundings and use hulking draugr + slot flames of oblivion and use thief or shadow mundus and use 2 piece velidreth.

You gain 4K Stam > 299 damage from hundings but lose 6% crit.

You also gain more Stam from battle roar and helping hands (200 each cast)

Edit: for bow you want to use master or maelstrom coz u should be using both those dots
