Update 11 No new motifs ?

solwest
solwest
We'll be discussing some of Update 11's additional features at a later date, including new motifs, new item sets, improved facial effects, the ability to dye costumes, and as always, many changes and improvements to existing content. Watch for additional information on our website and social channels, and get ready to join us on the test server (PTS) soon!

Am I just missing something in the patch notes ? Will these new motifs be talked about later or am I just to assume Zos has decided that no new motifs; besides the dlc dungeon sets will be introduced. Also are the Ra Gada, Ebony and Dromathra motifs not coming even though they are already in the in game Eidetic memory lore book section. Are they coming this patch yes or no ?

I didn't see anything about motifs either. These patch notes are definitely lacking a lot of info.

There is a Russian site that data mined all the crown store additions and one was called "Hallowjack Motif" but take that with a grain of salt because their have been others data mined and we still don't have a Motif for them

I think Hallowjack is the Halloween event motif, some official thread was mentioning it.

So, I suppose we'll get Akatosh and Morihaus from Gold Coast bosses
And Dark Brotherhood from... Sacrament reward containers?

Should I start piling these up?

No don't waste your time, saving up the rewards in the last two patches didn't yield and good results. The boxes or containers have to be from that patch most likely to get the motif rewards. Let's hope it's a better drop rate than the Abahs L motif.

    Here's the patch note update:
We've just updated the notes to add the previously missing details below. (And our apologies that we missed these when we first posted the notes!)

    New Motifs
The Akatosh, Dark Brotherhood, Dro-m’Athra, and Minotaur crafting styles are now available to craft.
    • Akatosh
      • The Chapters (or rarely, the full Book) are occasionally found in the reward for the Daily Quest to defeat the champions of the Kvatch Arena.
      • Pearl Sand, the style item for the Akatosh style, is guaranteed to come from that same Daily Quest reward. It also occasionally drops from those bosses. Grains of Pearl Sand, the raw version of the style item, can be found in resource nodes throughout the Gold Coast. Your chance of obtaining Grains of Pearl Sand increases with your knowledge of the style.
    • Dark Brotherhood
      • The Chapters (or rarely, the full Book) are available by completing Sacraments for the Dark Brotherhood. The better your performance, the more likely you are to obtain a piece of the Motif.
      • Black Beeswax, the style item for the Dark Brotherhood style, is occasionally obtained by completing Contracts for the Dark Brotherhood.
    • Dro-m’Athra
      • The Chapters (or rarely, the full Book) are available by completing the Quest to clear the Maw of Lorkhaj. You will always obtain a piece of the Motif from this quest, regardless of whether the quest is completed on Normal or Veteran mode.
      • Defiled Whiskers, the style item for the dro-m’Athra style, are found in that same Quest reward. They are also obtained by killing bosses in the Maw of Lorkhaj: Occasionally from bosses on Normal mode, a guaranteed drop from every boss on Veteran mode, and multiple Defiled Whiskers from defeating Rakkhat on Veteran Hard mode.
    • Minotaur
      • The Chapters (or rarely, the full Book) are occasionally found in the reward for the Daily Quest to kill Limenauruus, the giant Minotaur, in the Gold Coast.
      • Oxblood Fungus, the Style Item for the Minotaur style, is guaranteed to come from that same Daily Quest reward. It also occasionally drops from that boss. Oxblood Fungus Spores, the raw version of the style item, can be found by killing lesser Minotaurs all throughout the Gold Coast. Your chance of obtaining Oxblood Fungus Spores increases with your knowledge of the style.

    New Item Sets
The following new item sets are available from the Shadows of the Hist DLC Dungeon Pack.
    • Ruins of Mazzatun
      • Amberplasm
      • Aspect of Mazzatun
      • Heem-Jas’ Retribution
      • Mighty Chudan (Monster Mask Set)
    • Cradle of Shadows
      • Gossamer
      • Hand of Mephala
      • Velidreth (Monster Mask Set)
      • Widowmaker

Shadows of the Hist Loyalty Reward: Personality
A new "Drunk" collectible personality is available by purchasing the Shadows of the Hist DLC Dungeon Pack and visiting either the Cradle of Shadows or Ruins of Mazzatun! Using this personality will allow you to take on a new inebriated attitude by changing the way you stand, move, and even emote.

    New Titles
In Update 11, you will be able to obtain three new titles:
    • Hist-Shadow: Complete Veteran Cradle of Shadows and Veteran Ruins of Mazzatun to earn this title.
    • Mageslayer: Defeat the Mage Celestial in Veteran Aetherian Archive, while the Trial is scaled to Champion 160 to earn this title.
    • Shehai Shatterer: Defeat the Warrior Celestial in Veteran Hel Ra Citadel, while the Trial is scaled to Champion 160 to earn this title.

I'm surprised that there's no motif drop from the delve dailies.

hmm...does anybody care about motifs? I am a master crafter and I can't remember most of them. Most players who ask me for some armor say something like "make it nice" or "I use costumes so whatever". Last time someone asked for a specific motif was months ago.

I think meanwhile motifs are just a way to keep crafters grinding or paying others to grind. But they don't add something to the game itself. In the beginning a daedric motif was rare, something to be proud of. You knew what it was when you saw it. Meanwhile nobody cares about motifs beside completionists...

As you, I had all motifs in the past, but as they add too many and too many and too many simply doesn't care, I simply slow down. Zapped Trinimac first, and now it's Abah's Watch. I think I simply collect the easiest motif of that update and wait few months for others.

Agreed. Options are good but to many options makes people no longer care. Daedric used to be special. When you saw someone wear it you knew what it was and wondered where did they got it. You were willing to pay to have a set made and pay well. Now we have to many options and its killing the crafting experience all together. Rarely do people ask me to make something that involves glass, trinimac or malacath. These will be the same way. Hurry up and get it then after a couple months no one wants it.
