This is the official feedback thread for the Hair Style Bundle (Crown Store.) Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • Was it clear what hair styles you could/couldn't use on your character and why?
  • Did they work as expected?
  • Is there anything you would like to see changed and/or added to the experience?

It's really hard to see the styles - the preview should zoom into face so you can see the styles better. Also it would be great if the styles were added to the creation screen so you can use them when creating a new character after buying them.

Purchasing the big hair pack in the Crown Store was a bit confusing at first as to what it was used for and where. Why would I want to buy standard hair? Did not make sense because I thought it was used for the Crown Appearance change.

In the Collection-Appearance, it would be nice to filter out, or clearly mark visually, anything in the Collections that does not apply to my character. There are a lot of hair styles, and it is necessary to hover over them to see whether they can be used.

In Collection-Appearance, I did get to a point, somehow, where I could not change my hair style anymore. My character appearance did not update. Reloading the UI did nothing. When I exited to character select, my character had the last hair style I tried, and one that did not show on my character when logged in. Upon login, the hair style was the same as the character select and I was able to change hair styles again. I have been unable to recreate it. It happened after purchasing new hair styles in the Store when I immediately went to collections to see them.

It would be nice to be able to rotate the character in the Collection-Appearance section of the collections UI so that we can see the back of the head.

I tried the style with a pony tail on my wood elf, and I ended up with a buzz cut and no pony tail,

I started a new discussion on the PTS forum only because I didn't see this thread but here goes.

Any chance you guys could revisit Center-Part Long which is currently a male only hairstyle? I understand not every hairstyle can fit every character model, but as females have narrower faces than males there should be no clipping issues.

On the plus side, I really like that you can change your hairstyle at any time like a costume.

    Thank you.

The hairstyles are awesome, but it would be good to have the styles more organized, instead of having to scroll through everything

THANK YOU ZOS for giving us this 'pack' option... for whatever reason the Short Imperial hair is not available for male Bosmer in the character creator but it's the style I've always wanted for my character since other Bosmer NPCs have this hair style... with this pack I can now have that option!!!

I'm actually extremely excited about this next update... I can now not only have my favorite hairstyle for my Bosmers, but I can also dye my costumes so they work with each individual character concept. MAJOR KUDOS for ZOS on this!!!

This was such a brilliant move, I am 100% behind the direction you took with it. Being able to buy it all once and unlock it across the account, then switch freely between them as desired, is just such a good model. While not something I'd use on my main, I'm not so attached to the looks of my other characters that a little experimentation with hairstyles isn't in order.

I can only think of a scant few suggestions to pile on this already-stellar system.
    1. More hair colors for all races.
    2. Add packs for all standard accessories, head markings, body markings, etc.
    3. More. I mean not right away, it's already a very intriguing selection, but much like how new costumes come out all the time, it would be great to acquire new beards, tattoos, accessories, etc. over the course of play.

I would like to see a filter option to show only those hair and adornments I can apply to my character given their race/gender. Over all in collectibles I would like there to be a text search function implemented so I can find specific collectibles by entering their name.

I thought there were a lot of good options for the beast races (Argonian, Khajiit).

However, for the man and mer races, it seemed like there was an underwhelming quantity of new styles to choose from. Sure, all the styles from character creation were there ... but there were not a lot of new styles.

EDIT: I see some of the new styles are sold separately from the basic hair style bundle in the crown store. Will purchase those separately and give it a try. It might be good to give players a "heads-up" (no pun intended) that the bundle contains very few new styles.

All that said, the new styles that were there in the crown store were very nicely designed ... so kudos there. I settled on this one for my Bosmer Stamplar (pictured below). Will post some more pics with other characters later on ...

We really need to be able to at least filter what our character can use. There are just too many hair styles. I am most likely not buying the bundle when this DLC hits live if a filter isn't added.

Also, bigger and more distinct icons please!

Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.

We need to be able to spin our chars around and see the whole style. It should have the double arrow at the feet/bottom for us to turn the char around and look at the style from all angles.
Edit: meaning in the selector area before going live into game.

It was clear when I moused over items that I couldn't use them... but it really should just not show them when in my collections screen.

I caught myself attempting to turn my character (like you do in the crown store preview) to see the hair, but realized I couldn't. There was a lot of exiting/re-entering collections screen so I could view the back of my hair.

Once I accidently previewed the buzzcut hair in the crown store.. I couldn't get it to go away until I relogged.

I agree with many of the comments already made. I like that it allows most styles to be used on most characters, but it doesn't really say that's all it is. I thought it would be a big collection of new styles. I know, it is wrong to assume. Just wanted to point out that folks may be disappointed to find out after buying it, that it isn't new hair styles. Comments and suggestions:
    • Having the new styles available during char creation
    • non gendered/species specific styles, i mean clothes are mostly unisex/cross species? , why not the hair?
    • ability to 'dye' hair
    • more new styles, the 2 new ones for humans and mer were underwhelming imho/edit I only had the ability to choose 2 new styles, the others were not in the store for me until later tonight. There were some new ones that were very nice.

It is certainly a step in a fun direction for customization, but I think it needs more variety.

@MissBizz the addon "NoSpin" lets you twist your character around even with the collections tab open, though either my mouse really is on its last legs or this patch has reduced the amount I can spin the character per pull.

ZOS with an ever increasing inventory of collectables we _NEED_ a favouriting system where you can mark your favourite collectables to appear on top of the list for easy access.

Right click -> Add to favourite slot 1, etc.

Allow up to 5 favourites of each collectable item.

    • Did they work as expected?
    • Is there anything you would like to see changed and/or added to the experience?

Not very clear as I had to hover over some to discover that my race was incompatible with them (in the case of some humanoid races being incompatible with certain human hairstyles, there isn't really a way to know unless you try the style/hover over it to see what races can have them).

I'd like to see an option to disable showing hair styles that you can't use on your character since you don't really need to see your argonian and human hair style options when you're on your Khajit, making it harder to find the compatible styles for them among all those hair options. I'd also like it to be able to know what styles you can use by means of coloured icons instead of all being the same colour.

Edit: I forgot to add this to my post.

The Collections UI goes back to the top every time you change a hair and leave the window to see what it looks like, it's a bit annoying to have to scroll down to where you were every time you try out a new hair so it would be nice if the scrolling position was on the same point as when you left the window, and not at the top. I understand that in Live most people won't have enough hairs for this to be inconvenient though.

And finally, with all these new changes it would be great if you added the option to rotate your character while in the Collections window.

I found mousing over the styles, the popup wasn't changing properly, so when I select that style, it's changing to what's on the popup, not what my cursor is on.

I also agree that it needs to be sorted somehow & show larger thumbnails etc.

Not enough hair styles, especially for women.

Could we get long hair styles ? Curved, straight, etc... We really need more.

We also need an option to hide all the unwearable haircuts for a character (race limited). It's a pain to search for a hairstyle when you own them all.

    Thanks.

I agree with everyone else about Zooming In/Out and being able to hide unusable styles, that would help a lot.

I would also like to see more long- like ACTUALLY long- styles for both genders. Worn loose and not just braided and pulled back into pony tails.

My biggest issue right now is that the Tousled Bard style sits way WAY too low on a Bosmer's forehead. It looks terrible sitting where it is and this is the one I was most excited for. :(

Imo we need some way to sort the styles. Or at least "only show styles that current char can wear" option.
Also, I'd like to see more animated hair styles (well, not fully animated ofc, but responding to character movement, like the basic ponytail) and some long hair options.

P.S. Also would be nice if access to basic hairstyles was an ESO+ perk, not a separate cash shop item.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom I found a bug. I was previewing a individual style from the crown store and exited to check my previously bought "hair style bundle" and equip one of those. My hairstyle did not change (still stuck with the previewed one). I had to log off to see the new selected style on my character.
