This is the official feedback thread for the Appearance & Race Change Tokens (Crown Store.) Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:

• Was it clear how to buy and use the Appearance and Race Change Tokens?
• Did they work as expected?
• Is there anything you would like to see changed and/or added to the experience?

When using the Race Change feature, I do not seem to be able to use appearance sliders when my character is turned to the side or back or else they are immediately put facing the front again.

How much does this cost I don't think I saw that anywhere? knowing this game it could be alot or very little I mean a mount cost 4500 crowns while a DLC area cost 2000 so what are we gonna see in terms of price.

Everything is great, except for the vampirism part.
Sometimes when I wear a disguise I look like a simple human, but should I take it off - pale skin and bloody red eyes return. It'd be great if I could toggle on/off vampirism visuals while I'm in character creation screen. It'd help to build a better face, knowing end result.

I love this, and I think most will agree that this is long overdue.

However, whilst changing appearance, it seems any change done to your character currently "centers" the camera on your face- a little annoying if you want to look at the side and see how the sliders affect your character.

That is all.

Side note, is there any news on Faction Change? I'm GUESSING that may happen when "One Tamriel" occurs, given that faction quests become more trivial because everybody has access to all faction quests at level 1.

This is excellent, very easy to buy, very easy to back out of if you change your mind, and it's got a lovely UI to boot. I feel like the lighting is even better than the kind used during the normal character creation process. Further, the sliders for your character don't return to defaults, they begin at what you originally put on the character, making it easier to make minor adjustments to appearance without having to try to remake the whole thing. Heaven knows I didn't screenshot my slider positions back during Early Access. That has since been amended, for which I am eternally grateful. The experience was so thoroughly streamlined that I do believe I'll be purchasing a token for Men'Do, who is perfect in every way except for his height. While I'd like to be able to make him more in the Nord height range for lore/breed selection reasons, being able to max out the slider at least puts him to where I had originally envisioned him during creation.

There's a few things I like to see added to the character creation screen that would be helpful for people aiming for very certain looks when other circumstances come into play, and it can also be applied to the appearance and race change windows as well.

While modifying your character:
1. Add option to display what your character would look like as a Vampire Stage 4.
2. Allow the display of Costumes(both collected and not collected) on your character.
3. Preview walk and running animations, combat stance, and select number of emotes.
4. View your character by personality.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom We really need to be able to hide vampirism while doing the character customization, a lot things like face/body markings eye color and skin color either can't be seen or are very hard to see when you're a vampire.

I would like to be able to "turn off" vampire skin like I can turn off collectibles, if possible. I mean, the best would be if the vampire skin overlay didn't cover all the body and face painting, but turning the overlay off while editing the character would be nice already.

There should be an "identity change" that gives you a race and name change at a discount over buying both separately, because you can have names that are appropriate for one race but not appropriate for another race. A name like Soars-Like-Cliff-Racer is not going to fit any race but Argonian, and with Argonian changes.. I feel like I'm going to need to change race, and I'm going to have to change name. So I'm getting ripped off.

I also feel that it was double dipping to charge for a race change and name change separately. As stated above, most ppl have a race specific name, tho many do not, it penalizes anyone who chooses a lore friendly name at character creation, and may prevent ppl from doing so in the future so they can change race and not pay for a new name later.

I also agree it would be helpful to have a 'live' preview before accepting the changes to appearance. Characters look different in the live game environment than they do at char creation. I know I have redone many new chars because of that. Bodies look different when they move, character expressions and features look different in game when the lighting changes, than just a static image. Maybe give someone a half hour in game before making the change permanent, or something like that? Especially if this is going to be expensive. Price will be a big factor for me if when something looks funky and I have no option to fix it, and I can't get my token refunded.

I haven't tried it on my vamp, so will remark on that in another post.

I love the option, but definitely agree there needs to be a way tweak your appearance after seeing it live. If the price point on these tokens are too high, I'll probably limit myself to one or two characters, or even none at all.

Agree completely about being able to toggle it off in character edit screen - a dog may be for life, but vampirism isn't, and it would be good to be able to see how body markings look on your original character without the vampire effects.

I think being able to buy the tokens with in-game gold (and having them bind on purchase) would be a good thing, and act as a gold sink. The game has a distinctive lack of gold sinks.

Seeing the rare craft style costs 5000 crowns.. I'm guessing this will be somewhere around that price point.. which I think is ok. It should be something people don't do willy nilly each patch.. choice should matter but with this you get the option to rethink your choice albeit at a cost.

If it only costs 700 crowns, Cyrodiil would only contain 2 races...

5000 Gold would be crazy! This is a 10 bucks feature at best. Especially since you most likely also need a renaming token.
But that is just my opinion. Still I'm very happy for the appearance chance possibility.

It'd be nice if we could actually see the real cost of things on the PTE. That affects our feedback. I mean the hairstyle bundle for all launch hairstyles? Sounds great, that solves the "barber shop" thing because you can freely change hairstyles from your collection thing at no charge once you make the one time purchase... but how much it costs may change people's feedback on it. New premium markings and adornments same thing. Cost will be the deciding factor between people loving it or hating it. IMO, individual markings or adornments should be less expensive than outfits (so around 300-400 crowns tops), the hair bundle? I'm not sure how much I'd be willing to pay for that but if it's like 5000 crowns? no way.

Name and Race changes.. well, I like that race changes are also an appearance change, but I don't like that name changes are separate. That punishes those of us that like to have a racially appropriate name. Race change might as well have Name change as part of it. Considering it's the character maker as starting a new character.. just with changing your name greyed out.. that's sort of insulting.

Why aren't name changes included with race and appearance changes? Many of us create names based on race. To change race that means we have to buy a separate token to change the name, as well. Why not just allow full recustomization with the race change token?

why is it all crown store?

why not like this?

A) basic appearance change, race change - in-game gold

B)special appearance change, name change, race change, special hair-styles and special addornments -crown store

exactly, I suppose that there will not be a character, that will be changed in appearance without a namechange. so they should be one token, not two separate ones!!!

I've tested it, and it is really simple to get a hold of and it's also clear what you are going for. I do also like the fact that name change has it own ui. Does feel really intuitive.

What I would hope perhaps, is to get one free token of each at release, not because race have evolve since beta and that some change might be in order, but also because of how this seems addictive.

so 4000 crowns is what you'd be willing to pay if ZoS pulls a fast one on you and screws over your race choice and you had a race appropriate name?

Cause I sure wouldn't be willing to pay that. They pull that load of crap on me I'll take 1500 crowns away from them every month instead.

I mean let's use some sense here. You're saying.. $30-$45, to change the race and name of a character, after ZOS threw a curve ball on you and changed your stats, after you made a decision on your race and archetype and name at launch when the stats were set up a different way. This is ZOS forcing our hands on the race change, and you being willing to pay through the nose for it is just ridiculous.

That's 3 months of subscription crowns, that's over $30 to buy the crown packs to afford it from ZOS themselves. I don't care what shady 3rd party sites you might be getting crown pack cards from for less, ZOS shouldn't base it on shady 3rd party retailer prices but rather the prices they themselves are selling crowns for and 4000 crowns is way too much for a race+name change.

Seriously if appearance change is anywhere above 100 crowns this game will be becoming a neverwinter like crap fest
The best wouldve been paying with gold but we theyre too greedy to allow that
