This is the way ESO Plus benefits should be done, good work!

Not that it bothers me because I'm subbed but the crown colour pack options are terrible colours which dont look good on most costumes... Partly because they use the basic colour range I guess.

    Yes.

Though it only has TWO dye slots for some reason! And the leather parts dye exactly as poorly as you'd expect. It's not unmanageable, you just can't do nearly as much with it as some would like.

There are costumes I would buy that I haven't because of the colors. Putting costume dyeing behind the ESO+ paywall just means I'll continue to not buy those costumes. Personally I think you'd sell more costumes if everyone could dye them.

I guess the fact that I hate it being an ESO+ perk means it must be a good one, although it's not enough for me to become an ESO+ member. My crafting is maxed so Inspiration boost is worthless, XP boost is a handicap since I like to PVP in the 10-49 campaign and the bonus XP just means a I Vet out quicker and have to reroll. Access to DLC doesn't matter since I've bought the ones I like. So is the ability to dye costumes by itself a good enough perk to sub, answer is no.

An alternative solution would be ESO+ members can dye costumes earned in game but everyone can dye costumes bought with crowns.

I totally disagree. I want to dye the darn thing cause even if I never see it -it's gotta match.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Yes yes yes and no . Should be sold as an unlock in my opinion . XP bonuses are enough reason to sub while grinding champion points or levels . I would add different perks like reduced travel costs and repairs for plus . Dyes are expected in most games .

I found most of my costumes to dye quite well; Very impressed with this feature.

I couldn't dye the Dark Shaman outfit though, was that just because it's new and I can expect that added soon? :p

I enjoyed dyeing my outfits and hats very much.

I did find that some areas of certain items do not dye, like boots and bandolier on the pirate gear for example, but it still looks great even with the limitations. I was a bit disappointed when doing the jaunty new hat with the feather, that the gold lining on top does not dye, so it looks a bit odd with certain combos of colors, I wanted silver or grey on that bit.

I think the description of the outfit in the Crown store could state what parts do not change color. I think it could help avoid issues later with ppl complaining that they couldn't do what they thought they could , since some folks mentioned they might buy things now because changing the color is an option.

I haven't done everything in my collection yet, but so far, I'm really pleased. <3

Yes to all. Seriously, this plus the craft bags got me to resub.

Being able to dye costumes, I was able to fix a few of the more drab ones, e.g. Julianos white on the pants of the Sun-kissed costume. The pants of the pirate swab outfit no longer has to blend with my Khajiit's fur. Several of my characters wear a color theme, and now have greater options.

Exact same situation here. I bought the dress counting on them letting us dye costumes eventually, and now I got this:

I'm sorry for the quality. I think I will make a "Houses of Westeros Collection" now that I took a second look at the combinations.

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Spoiler
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I've had a sub since day 1, but I agree with this. Since ZOS presumably hopes to sell costumes to people who are unsubbed to bring in cash, it seems to make no commercial sense to have any paywall for costume customisation. It makes costumes only really worthwhile for people who are already subbed and providing regular income to the game as they are the only ones who can get full optimal use from them, and may actually work to put people who don't sub OFF spending money on costumes (I don't think costume dyes are enough to convince anyone who doesn't sub to start doing so, if crafting bag didn't do it, costume dyes won't) - which just seems daft.

This! @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Please, please, please, let the people who have to use templates be able to use all/most dyes, the ones unlocked are barely enough to see a full effect of dyeing (be it costumes or new gear).

I'd like an option on the Dying Station itself to hide the helmet while dying your gear. A little icon to toggle show/hide next to the helmet seems good to me. I do want me helmets to match the rest of my gear, but I'd also like to see the impact of the new dyes without the helmet on since I usually hide mine.

It is a good work but...

I do not understand why you do not do directly an enchantment system for each parts of the equipment to bring the look you want in. When I say parts of equipment it implicates shields and weapons also. It could take form as another window in gear ui where each place of equipment can be complete with appearence we want. You will go in that windows with a tab at top of usual gear windows.

I do not want a satin dress I just want heavy armor that makes the warrior. I have enough to have a pickaxe at place of my one hande axe.

Currently, if you want to look like something or you put a full armor crafted with all the disadvantages that occure either you put one of the few that offers disguises. Even worse for shield and weapons because there is no disguise and u have only to craft them if u want a nice appearence.

Why graphic artists paste time to make beautiful armors and weapons for crafting and u decide to ignore all of them with these desguises?

And now u make dye systeme for that...

    A french was here.

I was able to successfully recolor costumes.

It was clear how to use the dyes and it functioned as expected. However, if the first costume you pick cannot be recolored, it can be confusing until you realize this. A new costume in this updateam cannot be recolored. I do not have the name of that costume.

This is a valuable addition to ESO Plus.

It have not gone through many costumes, yet, to see how well the different costumes can be recolored, or to see if any others cannot be.
