Give Console Players A Way To Fluidly Weapon Swap

This kills me on the PS4. That brief moment where I have to ditch mobility (using left analog) to swap to my other weapon (pressing left on the D-pad), literally, kills me. Especially in the Maelstrom Arena.

ZOS, please offer a more fluid option to weapon swapping on consoles.

I'd love to swap my Track-Pad button on my PS4 controller with the Left D-Pad function so that my Track Pad button becomes my 'Weapon Swap' and my Left D-Pad button becomes my 'View Map' function.

I've trained myself to use my right hand thumb to weapon swap. The problem with that, is that sometimes, I chuck a potion instead of swapping. Especially when I need to swap fast. But that way, you have a little mobility still.

I would like to switch weapons with a thumbstick press instead.

Mhh maybe switch left dpad with r3, depends If you crouch a lot.

I have customized the Xbox Elite controller and have the paddles set up for stuff like this - works like a charm!
Maybe scuf(?) or something has something similar?

I swapped the dpad weapon swap to R3 instead. So stealth will be in place of the previous weapon swap button. I think that is the smoothest way to play. You would just have to switch it back if you play another game. But luckily for me, Eso is my only game atm lol.

Unless they allow button mapping within the game client this will always be an issue because even with an xbox elite controller there are limitations. I can swap which buttons act as "Y" and "B" but I cannot make synergies use something other than "Y" and "B".

I want a better way to dodge roll or use ult or bash.

2 buttons to ult, 3 ifi want to cancel it.

2 button to dodge roll one of which stops my stam regen ticks.

2 buttons to bash one of which stops my stam regen ticks.

I changed my buttons in the eso controller templates in options->gameplay. Only problem is that trying to synergies now makes me crouch and weapon swap because they button share. It would be great if the synergy was the same as cc break, just synergy when there is a prompt and cc break when there isn't....

Not easily and it seriously messes up your controller.

They need the same key bind feature that is in the game moved over to console.

So you can assign weapon swap or anything else wherever you want it.

I want the interact button moved off the jump option, it's frustrating trying to jump on your mount and dismounting because there was butterfly somewhere in your general vicinity.

The templates are terrible.

The PS option is better but still poor.

They need to just allow console players the key binding option that's already in the game.i

I play on PTS on a Alienware Alpha on a X box elite controller and I can assign keys wherever I want using the key binding menu options it is awesome.

Go into ps4 settings and you can change it there, not sure if xbone has this too.

Yeah.. playing stamina on console is pain in the ass. Just like you said, in order to roll dodge/bash/ use ultimate you must block which stops your stamina regen.

I really hope one day Zos can fix this. Or at least for the console platform, create a 1 second cd while blocking before regen stops to prevent stopping regen with these other actions.

It can be done on xbone also.
You can swap your R stick click with left on the dpad but make sure you assign both to each other.
Go to all settings> devices> choose controller> options>button mapping
1. Select r stick mapped to left dpad.
2. Save
3. Select left dpad mapped to r stick
4. Save
5. Beat Vet Maelstrom because you are now elite.
6. Curse the Rng gods.
7. Come back to forums for a cuddle.

I know your ps4 but for any xbox players out there I'd highly recommend getting an elite controller it's upped my game big time. Much easier to use, far less potions wasted

Ive tried to do that but ive already mastered the dpad switch. Switching felt so whack.

Using PS4's button remapping to swap left arrow and R3 works for me, but then sneaking is slower.

Ideally I would want: weapon swap down arrow, sneak R3, change view left arrow.... or weapon swap R3, sneak down arrow, change view left arrow. I can do that with PS4 remapping but it makes navigating menus a huge pain using analog stick.
