Just get the mechanics down, eventually you won't use the sigils for most stages

Why you feel that you are entitled to personal playground in this game? We are all customers and for ZOS, I am sure it's important that everyone had a chance to finish every their released content. Too easy for you , get naked and run it without CP. if you wanna challenge. I dont, I have enough challenges in real life, I want to relax in video game and have fun. I dont wanna spend hours testing stuff and looking for what is actually performs better than tooltip says or what combinations gets you better dps. Self entitlement of some of you is sickening. How about older (age) customers, or customers with some disabilities? Not everyone just can Gid Gud.

As someone who's eyesight is not so good.... Vmsa is a major pain. With that said though... They can keep Vmsa the way it is, it gives a good challenge for those that have nothing better to do!

For the record.. I for one have no foreseeable plans to ever complete Vmsa... I don't need the added stress :).

That damn Giant *beep* keeps breaking the ice on me, especially when I almost finish her off. I keep dying on the ice water. need to increase my elemental protection or weapon damage.

Or take out the trolls that break them, the giant only breaks them at certain health levels.

@GreenhaloX - leave the platform with the defensive + offensive sigils for last and when you're there pop them and burn the boss.

Oh, I see.. so, is that damn troll is going around and softening the ice then. So, then that big giant momma is able to pounce and break the ice platform afterward. Cool.. if I can take out the troll before he does his thing. Yes, it's not that giant that kills me.. it's falling into the ice water and scramming to run to the other ice platform, then that giant breaks the others and I was pretty much toast in the ice water, over and over again. Although, I saw a youtube clip of someone showing going through Maelstrom, and he seems to breeze through the stages fairly easy and quick. Even in the ice stage, after he fell in the ice water, he barely receive any damage, as he dashes through to the other platform. He must have high points on his elemental defense. So far up to this ice stage, I didn't die once and whacked every beasties and the bosses to oblivion. After I get through this ice stage, I'm sure I will have to come checking back to learn what other crazy secrets to learn of Maelstrom.

Why do you feel YOU are entitled to make the challenge of Veteran Mode, which it specifically says it is made for those who like a challenge, if you can't beat that, then why are you doing it, and then you are feeling entitled to make it so you are able to beat it. What about all the other people who enjoy working for something in the game? Some people treat the game as a hobby and put some passion into it and show off what they are able to do. Zenimax have to accustom to those people too you know? And I am not speaking about myself here. But Veteran Maelstrom is not made for casual players, that is what Normal is for.

You are exetremly contradicting in this post, and you follow the stereotype, if it's too hard nerf it. Yes it is made for the 1% and sure it's hard as hell, I hated clearing it for the first time, but now there is a save feature, take your time with it, have some fun, take breaks, do what you have to. But don't ask for nerfs because it's taking more than a day to beat it, that is just entitlement and self centered attitude.

Also, not once did I mention myself, so to come out with an insult and pigeonholing me into a certain group that most look down on, even though we are the ones offering the most help, I didn't say git gud either.

That reminds me need to get the title on my new magblade.

@Bao1340 the content is hard. intentionally hard. There are lots of guides on mechanics, guides on builds. Every class can complete the maelstrom. All it takes is a commitment and practice. but dont feel obliged or compelled.
even BIS weapons will only last a few more months when vDSA is bought up to CP160
. but if you do want to do it my advice is:

Practice is better than any amount of CP or Gold Gear, most players think they are lacking. i often hear ill try again "when i hit the CP cap". or "when i have maxed my gear"I have yet to hear one person say "I struggled when i had 400 CP but as soon as i hit 501 CP it became easy, I had no further problems"

They already nerfed prison and WGT into dust casual level difficulty. This is the last piece of hard content outside of 12 man trials. I dont know why so many complain about it

Haaa, come on.. there is a big difference between 400 and 501 CPs, let me tell you. Those 501s running around are doing way more damages to the enemies and seems to be able to absorb more damages than those who are not 501. With another 100 CPs, that is a lot of points to plus up your character. Generally, yes, practice makes perfect, but higher weapon damages output and being able to absorb damages comes with leveling up your skills, armors and gears.. and do make things easier in the game, especially Maelstrom. I went in Maelstrom the first time when I was about 230 CP and I couldn't get through the Lamia queen stage because I was lower in poison defense. Now that I am closer to 400 CPs, I have boosted my poison defense and breezed through the Lamia queen stage. Also, in one of those youtube clip, the guy is 501 CP and breezed through all the Maelstrom stages whacking everything left and right with a few hits and barely taking any damages, even in the higher stages.

After around 360CP you start to see some diminishing returns, there really isn't huge noticeable differences if you're just trying to clear it.

The trolls will break the ice platforms if you leave them so you have to smack them, because the boss will break 2 platforms regardless, and you need the last one to finish her off.
The big giant momma boss has health thresholds when she will automatically break the platform she is on (I think first is at 75% and the next is at 50 or 45%) - she will glow red and you have to quickly move away to another platform or her platform break attack will most likely kill you.
Just darting through the water to the next platform shouldn't hurt too much - just don't linger in the water for too long.
The reason I tell you to leave the platform with def+off sigils for last is because if you grab those 2 you can ignore the ranged mobs and just burn the boss down. It really helps when you're just learning - the ranged mobs are a pain in there. :s

It is pretty sad that an adult is making this argument. I could see this one from a teenager, but come on sir!

I don't go to the gym and expect to bench 300lbs like someone who works out harder than me because I paid my gym membership dues. The bench and the weights are there for me to use and work on since I paid for my membership, but how much I actually lift is based on my effort and natural abilities. If I can only bench 75 lbs because I have a disability or I only have a little time to lift each week or lifting 75 lbs is relaxing to me, then we shouldn't take away all of the other weights from everyone else who wants to lift more. If I cannot bench press at all, I could go do 100's of other types of workout in the gym that my membership helps pay for and leave the bench pressing to those that find that activity and type of exercise enjoyable and satisfying.

The current game offers myriad opportunities for those that just want to relax and play the game outside of their real stresses in life. Remember though, some of us find spending our time min/maxing every tooltip, testing stuff, and working really hard to beat hard content relaxing and fun. Just because that is not your idea of fun, please do not ask for the extremely small percentage of the game that does cater to that play-style to conform to your personal playground.

There are probab;y older and more disabled (medical or injury) people beating maelstrom, could just ask for help. So are you telling me that there are often both visual and audio queues to game mechanics?

Like when the Overfiend in vICP yells, "Lord Warden, aid me!" it isn't a coincidence that a Harvester spawns every single time?

Or when Matriarch Runa yells, "Ra um ra ra ra!" it might be time to know the exact location of the ranged mob spawn so that you can target and kill it immediately? Maybe paying attention and noticing this might make the fight 100x easier?

I'm not trying to be a sarcastic jerk here, but that is really is the reality of it. This stuff isn't impossible for anyone, it just takes a little bit more effort and thought.

ikr. So the guy has vision problems and might not see the giant red flash. I bet if he turned on subtitles he'd know when platforms break. He could've jusf made a thread asking about things like this, but 'nerf it cuz i hav issues' seems to be the only response.

I'd say let's make a thread about it, pearls beforw swine, though. It'd get lost in all these trash threads.

I know there is a lot of account sharing going on right now....at least on ps4/NA. I hear it in area chat and even in guild chat. People are offering their services for a large amount of gold to log into someone else's account and run vMA for them. The rate I have heard is around 100K-150K per run and a bonus if they get you on the leaderboards. It is bad enough you need someone to play a game for you but what really gets me is that people are just handing out their account info. I just do not get it. I have even seen some people running around with the title that I know for a fact have paid for this and then they brag about how great they are and tell others to get good and finish it. Needless to say I have deleted these people. Even left two guilds for people doing this and AP farming with characters on other factions

You're welcome and keep at it - with good gear and perseverance you'll beat it.
Take advantage of the save feature and if you feel like it's getting tedious, just leave the arena and take a break - you can always come back later.

And look up some guides if you get stuck on something. @Nifty2g and many others have taken from their own time to help the community so it's kinda disheartening when those of us who want this challenge are being told to *** off.
All the help you need to complete it is out there, from gear to builds to strategies - good luck and remember to have fun! :)
