I Hate the Assassin Personality when the Knife Disappears

If the knife doesn't show, the character just looks silly. And I hate even more when the PC raises his arm up to look at the blade (while it's invisible). It just looks like he's checking his fingernails. It's hard to believe a PC is a tough warrior while he's checking his nails every few seconds, and fidgeting his hands constantly, like he has "Spirit Fingers".

I use it on my dual wielding character, and it fits.

Doesn't look so cool on my magicka healer. :p

I haven't seen the figits without the Blade showing, though.

I don't mind the idle stance... it's the walk that drives me nuts. It's obviously modeled for a guy, and my assassin is a very curvy lady. She has wider hip-bones than a guy, so there should be a little sway to her gait.

A pity. I'd love it if it weren't for that one really awkward animation.

(Though, yeah, the personality is pretty fidgety. XD )

It IS meant for a guy...

My initial reaction was the same. The idle stance without the knife just looks silly and unnatural.

Why couldn't they just have the PC pull out a cloth and wipe the blood off the knife, every so often? There is a lot of killing after all. Or make them sharpen the blade like we've constantly seen NPC's doing, while standing idle throughout various towns?

Don't get me wrong ... I like the flipping of the knife, but Zen, you didn't have to make the PC look like they're in love with the blade. I could have done without the "Let me look at myself in the reflection of the blade animation.

I can hear the guards now. "See that guys right there? Yeah, the one covering his face, and drawing his weapon constantly in public? Why is he looking at his knife like that? Yeah ... he's up to no good. Watch him, carefully!"

"There he goes again ... looking at his knife! What's wrong with this guy?"

Oh yeah, I hate the running animation, too. It looks like they were going for a ninja-like animation, but failed. The PC just looks elbow stiff; like he caught Bursitis in his arm and never got it checked out.

The posture of the assassin personality really bothers me too, and I think it's how my character leans back even though there's nothing behind her... just doesn't look natural. And then there's this stiff arm just being held out in front for no reason - looks tiring actually.

I thought personalities would be really cool, just needs tweaking.

They should have left as it was. With the knife showing on the hips when not drawn and with the knife drawn when running. @ZOS_JessicaFolsom can you please ask the devs to bring the personality back to the originally intended one?

I've noticed the knife disappears if you change costumes. You can toggle the personality off and back on to fix it. My real complaint about the assassin personality is the character doesn't just do it while you are idle. It does it all the time. So I could be walking or jumping and they'll still be flipping the knife in the air. Looks so stupid!

I think it was interfering with some other animations (like call mount) and instead of fixing it they disabled a few parts because, you know, logic...

But see, that's exactly what I want! I want my lady to be able to use this personality, but I can't, because when she's using this personality, she walks and runs like she's got something between her legs. We women have a lower center of gravity and wider-spaced hips, and thus we move our weight a little differently than men. I don't need her hip sway to be sexy... I need a hip sway to be female. That's all I'm saying. XP

Honestly I don't really like the assassin personality at all. I've only tried it on my Khajiit murder-cat, but it makes her stand and move around really awkwardly. I can't decide if she holds her arm away from her body because she has a bad rash she doesn't want to irritate or is trying to pantomime holding an invisible beach ball. And the running stance is just weird, IDK why anyone would walk around like that without a physical disability. I don't think I've seen the missing knife problem because I stopped using that personality really quickly.

Really hoping future personalities are a bit more subtle.

Ohhhh... that explains the really ... weird looking guy I saw in the bank the other day.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Yeah the Assassins idle stance without the knife looks silly especially if you have the Mercenary helmet on like I do. I don't see the resemblance of an assassin in that idle stance which has my head tilted looking like I'm having a "what was that" moment to some annoying person.
