game breaking bug, stuck at molag bal....

when I meet molag after the final companion quest when I have god like power, when he suspends me, the dialogue stops after he tells me I am less than nothing. I cannot move. I cannot break free. I am hovering and cannot even abandon the quest. I have logged out three times hoping it would fix but nothing. I just get to the same point and it's stuck. Any solutions for this? Has anyone encountered it? I ends the game for me if I cannot pass this point. The character cannot move to other areas in the post game with cadwell if I cannot complete the final battle.

I have a toon that at the beginning of this quest and have put it on hold till I hear about a fix.

Please know this has been reported on PC about 10 times now as a game breaking bug. Hopefully you see this tomorrow and pass it on to a dev.

So we're stuck and we have to hope they get their act together? Good lord. What a waste. I'm reluctant to bother with my other characters now. Nothing like going through all of it to be stuck here. I cannot cancel. I cannot abandon. I am literally stuck here no matter what I do.

Submit a ticket ingame as well. If you want to do something else you can try loading into Cyrodiil just to get out of the quest until a dev resets and fixes it. It's a total pain. That last suggestion is at the risk all progress is lost on that quest. So don't do it if you don't want to take that risk in order to go free roam a while.

If you check the bottom of that discussion thread, they've seemed to have found a temporary solution. You could try it out and see if it works for you. I will try it myself and reply here and there with the result.

That quest was very minor by comparison to all I've done. The thing is that this character right now is my woodworking, clothing and provisioner for my other characters and I cannot do anything with her like this. I am literally trapped in this boxy map. As soon I am frozen by him, it all stops. I have had so many problems with their 'clever' little designs. They are the buggiest crap in the game for me and whenever I see press A options or fancy/unique game actions, I know there's like a 60% chance it will not work. Going to cyrodill might be my best option but I don't know if I can get back to the normal map after that. I'm not losing the one character I have dedicated three crafts to. No way.

Should be no issues using a wayshrine once your out of the quest from Cyrodiil.

I was able to fix so here is how --- what others mentioned basically....


BUT I had to leave through entering cyrodill campaign while trapped by malog bal, then I used the wayshrine back to the harborage, then through the portal and ran ALL THE WAY back to fight him through all the maps. When I got there, because he was still stuck, it tried to trap me as I ran toward him but it was like I busted out of it. Then I was free to move on that map.

I went toward him but on the left side and almost right in front of him on the left side of the map I got trapped as I was supposed to but the effects were screwy. I was able to fight him and finish the game and my character when I logged off last night was in post game after meeting with cadwell.

NOTE - this took SEVERAL TRIES TO WORK. IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK, I HAD TO:

1 - LEAVE VIA CAMPAIGN THEN RETURN BACK TO HARBORAGE AND ENTER THE PORTAL, THEN RUN THE WHOLE MAP

2 - THE QUEST CANNOT RESTART (meaning I had to run through and kill stuff again, and I have my companions again.... mandatory for this to work is that this cannot happen because I had the restart version twice when it restarted the quest you can NOT 'glitch' through the trap zone where you get locked and that is the whole key to this working - if the quest resets as if you are just starting it you will have to run it again, but will get trapped again most likely if you have already encountered this bug. However, once that happens just exit via campaign and rerun through it again asap because I suspect there is a timer that triggers the resetting of this quest and you do NOT want it to reset). So if you have this bug/glitch, exit to the campaign asap. There may be a timer that makes it reset if you leave the area before completing the molag boss fight.

3 - AFTER YOU GLITCH THROUGH THE TRAP ZONE AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS YOU MUST GO TO THE AREA ON THE LEFT RIGHT IN FRONT OF MOLAG BAL. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE ON THE MAP THAT SEEMS TO TRIGGER HIM TO TRAP YOU AFTER THIS GLITCH HAS OCCURRED. Wander around in that area. That was where it triggered for me. But it did not trigger the very first time I did this. So even this is not a 100% sure thing but it is you best shot. It was my third try in that area of the map that got it to trigger the battle. I was walking around in front of him on the left side right in front of the wall.
