What is it with these forums? Most of us whom never complain about anything try to come here and read the forums for tips/news etc only to find (Nerf NB, Ahh muh Sorc Shield, Nerf siege I was hit in the face with a big rock slung from a treb and I expected to live)

I know the game has it's bugs or things you do not like, but most just shrug it off and game on, others will find anything to complain about. If you get ganked by a NB, Sorc, Templar or DK just deal with it... Try to figure out what they did to gank you, if not message them and they may just let you know.

Enjoy the game and stop all the negativity, after all it is just a game.

This place tends to be a tire fire the first few weeks after a DLC, it'll settle down a bit after a couple more incremental patches. Then it will go nuclear again once the next DLC hits the PTS.

The purpose of the forums is for news, tips, etc. as you mentioned, but it is also here as a service, to encourage feedback and criticism from players. However, there is a difference between constructive and non-constructive criticism, but that differs from thread-to-thread.

From what I've seen though, is that players who are frustrated aren't the "trolls" that people brand them to be, but are instead customers and fans who want to see this game achieve its true potential.

Nah, it has always been like this, maybe a tick higher like you say after a DLC, but I always see posts complaining about something in the game somebody doesn't like, or they get killed by a certain class/ability.

I don't post here much, I just mainly observe.

These forums are a bit of a powder keg lately.

My big issue right now is the state of the Xbox. It was buggy before the update (and ticket answers generally blamed my Xbox or Internet even though there are countless threads on the issue), and now it is almost unplayable due to lags, crashes, and characters getting stuck in populated areas.

There's the DLC, the nerfs and buffs, the cheating issue, the frustration about the drop RNG... Lots of places to drop a match and get a giant reaction. Some of these issues need to be addressed or it's unfortunately going to stay volatile.

On the plus side, PvP seems to run smoother at the moment? I am hoping this was the tweaks they did, rather than everyone playing DB right now, because I am loving it! Only place on Xbox where I haven't crashed yet...

Indeed. Many of said players have played a number of MMOs and have noticed that there are patterns of behavior that usually indicate things aren't kosher, and that makes them concerned about the state of the game. Especially when these issues are brought up and are either met with silence and/or are deleted/locked/etc. . When the community doesn't feel like it is being considered, when feedback gets ignored, when bugs and exploits linger for months or years, it's bound to get more than a couple of players wondering what the heck is going on.

The discontent arises BECAUSE the players care about the game and want to see it succeed, not because they hate the game.

Don't judge ESO's community by the official forum threads. Most of us are pretty mature and reasonable. You will get the occasional 'Oh mer gerd' post... But the info is here if you do a thread search.

The complaints about bugs/exploits is good feedback and I may look at some of them as trolls just by the thread title and thats my fault. The Nerf this class, Nerf this skill or So and So is OP zOmg I was ganked, is what I mainly can't stand. I have played MMO's for a long time and I hate when they Nerf a class or item instead of adding something to counter it.

To the people who care about the path the game is on, keep up the constructive criticism. To the trolls who get mad when they die to a certain class or things don't quite go your way, it will be OK, it is just a game. And if you need a safe space, I don't know what to tell you..

I agree man, alot of moaning / ranting on here. But that's true with most forms of 'social' media these days. Unsure social is the correct term anymore!!

For new comers to the game this forum is pretty damaging. Imagine buying a game, signing up all excited and all your see is Caps Locked ranty click bait subject lines about 'the end being nigh' hopefully most can see through it but I've seen at least 4/5 people asking things like 'ive bought the game and made a sorc am I wasting my time as I've read all the hate' so new comers do read all this junk

Rather than post how useless this class or that is people should add definition, it's actually just not as good as they want it to be for how they want to play, and win easily....ha!

But GAME BREAKING BUG OMG OMG reads better they think.

Don't get me wrong game is buggy in Xbox right now, but support have acknowledged it and are working on it. Stuff happens. Half the moaners on here don't even open a support ticket.

You are right tho, I come here for the wealth of knowledge but trawling through the hate seems to take longer and longer

Oh and by the way, the negative people HATE it when you put up a post about negative people. Expect hugely ironic backlash.

When I was new to the forums I remember someone saying, there's the people that go to the forums and then there's the people who enjoy the game. The longer I stick around, the more I see it's true. Word of advice: Get out while you can!!

I agree!!!! People need to just play the game and stop the pissing and moaning! But here I am pissing and moaning about people who *** and moan! Whatever! While they are sadly hating every minute of their eso lives I'll be gaming away completely content! Sucks for them!

I found out it's about six or seven shills/other MMo fan boys that simply hate everything if you read their posts in the comic shop guys voice they're quite amusing.

Seriously though, the ignore option and the report option work great on these forums. Nothing pisses them off more than to be left screaming with no one to hear them.

Most people don't post on the forums if they don't have a gripe about something. That's typically how it is with ... everything.

I agree OP. And it is not only just when there is a DLC, which is when you should expect a couple of hiccups. Any patch is constantly received with a plethora of complaints and griping about what was fixed or altered. I have never seen the kinds of problems that I hear about on the forums, at least to the extreme that they are represented. I have had Anvil be a little laggy but nothing I can't survive knowing that patience is a virtue and the problem will more than likely go away. I have also been dashboarded, but only once since DB came out. Guess what? I reloaded and went on my way.

With that being said, i do play on Xbox and not PC, which is where i think most of these complaints manifest. With modding and the ability of cheat engines, I just think they are more susceptible to problems. I'm glad consoles are weary to sign up for such things.

There are always people that aren't constructive in anyway and just like to b**** when things don't go their way, or when things aren't the way they think they should be. It must suck to be like that. I wish they weren't and could actually enjoy this game the way it is meant to be and how I have since I started playing. I do remember the forums being more about actual gaming and advise. Hopefully someday they will return to that.
