@ZoS Consoles Have the Wrong PTS Build

(Also posted in the PTS forum.) Can we get this fixed? So far I've noticed: infinite party finder ques (as a tank/ healer), insane lag/ chugginess, CP Thamaturge glitch. These are all issues fixed in the last PTS build, but NOT fixed on either console. I'm guessing the patches were sent and certified before the patches were applied. Group finder definitely does not work and leaves you in infinite q mode.

I'm on mobile, but if someone wants to repost with the ZoS tags that would be great. And we should keep this thread alive and complied with any further issues noticed on console.

    Consoles are always behind PC due to the STUPID process that requires companies to send in only one patch at a time and it must pass a 2 week or so certification process before it goes live else companies risk getting sued

    Better idea, companies don't send a patch for approval until its in a fully working condition. Its insulting to us players and embarrassing for zos that they are still doing this.

    Well group finder will be broken for the next week or two and that's ridiculous then. They also had two weeks to add the improvement and incrimental and chose not to. Not cool.

    Presumably they sent it to certification at the same time as they released on PC. Certification would have to start from the beginning again if they wanted to release the fixes straight away, which would have delayed the release of the DLC. (Considering the issues though, maybe they should have just done that...)

    FFXIV and DCUO (Warframe too) have no problems pushing iterative patches through when stuff is broken and needs fixing ASAP. So this is a ZoS issue. Not PSN.

    Truth! You speak facts! R* (Rockstar Games) and Blizzard both do this as well, with Grand Theft Auto: Online and Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls (UEE) if things are serious enough, or warrant enough attention.

    In fact, I remember when Blizzard did a huge screw-up and released an item called "Mortick's Brace" on console versions of Diablo 3 in 2015, that never were supposed to go live no matter the platform. Blizzard patched D3, and prevented it from dropping (by all means) within 6hrs. of the new DLC launching, and finding how the insanely grave mistake they made. Lmao. Those guys at Blizzard were scrambling, because the item is/was too far overpowered and unbalanced. To this day there's talks of how fast Blizzard patched that out, and did their changes to things so fast. As well as to how its unfair that now Diablo 3 on console will forever be unbalanced, due to how some people have such powerful gear in their bank/inventory, and Blizzard not removing the item from the players who were lucky enough to get their hands on it. So why it is that ZOS can't move as fast as those companies, and be as competent? I have no idea.

    On PC? I haven't seen such errors myself. Were they patched? If so, console's still missing that patch.

    Sound missing is not just on console. It is terrible on PC as well. Once you enter fights in Cyro all sounds go away.

    When things are broken they can hot fix immediatly this is their decision not a verification issue

    Nothing stupid about it, it's entirely practical to ensure the patches are stable and definitely won't brick anyone's console or anything like that, even one instance of one update bricking people's consoles would be an unmitigated disaster for the companies involved.

    Not that it needs to be so extreme to be worth avoiding, even if the patch just makes the Console run slightly less well that would be a serious problem, so it needs to be avoided if at all possible, which is what this process you call "stupid" is very intelligently and pragmatically trying to prevent.

    Casey, thanks for checking in. Specifically, when running CoH Vet pledge today, ALL of the below happened (all caps for emphasis, not yelling :) ):

    - Massive slowdown in FPS during random trash mob pulls.
    - Followed by: a muffling, then a complete absence of sound. No sword swings, sound effects, music. Nothing.
    - Mobs vanishing for certain players (including bosses). Other players could see said mobs, and hit them, but the individual affected could not.
    - Constant phasing. At least that's what I think is going on, where a load screen appears for no reason. Phasing inside a 4 man instance is certainly a new bug for me.
    - Sometimes, only sometimes, the aforementioned screen passes and the player is returned to the instance. Other times, a "this may be an unusually long wait" message appears and the player can only return by shutting down the client.

    Every one of these bugs in new, since the patch. At least for me. Other players, who were in chat, were also variously affected by the above.

    Hope that helps! Also, I reported these issues in game, via the help console.

    I will confirm that Activity finder is not working at all (XBOX NA). Since the patch it has not worked once.
    Before the patch it was working great (as a tank class).

    I think that the plummeting and random FPS drops certainly need to be addressed, too. Wasn't that bad before. I'm using an SSD as well.

    Add to list: NPCs often don't load for several minutes, sometimes they'll ghost-attack you for awhile before you can attack them back

    Last night I discovered swapped dialog in the dark brotherhood content.

    The female dunmer npc that gives me the litany of blood - her opening spoken sound does not match the text on the screen. The sound for that opening bit and the sound for a spot later in that same conversation seem to be swapped.

    Yea, most of these are pretty much normal behavior on PC ever since the DB patch hit.

    Maybe it's a spec thing then. I also play on a 6700K, SLI 980 TI setup (for PTS and a bit of live--don't laugh, I just prefer ESO on console lol), and I've never had these issues. It's possible the PS4 hardware just can't handle whatever effects DB may or may not have added.

    If that's the case they just need to reverse whatever they did since it's messing up all platforms.
