Its sad and pathetic that ZOS are hiding behind the same TOS their failing to uphold. While @ZOS_JessicaFolsom you did post the to be expected generic unhelpful resposnse and then locked the thread , its simply not good enough. Until a person of actual importance comes on here to address the situation and actually elay our fears and answers our questions I'll continue to not renew my ESO+ . I'll also visit every review site i know to warn potential players of your willingness to allow cheaters in this game. I'll also try and acquire the names & contact detail of as many of your shareholders as possible to inform them of the detrimental damage your doing to their name and their investment. You have made alot of mistakes in your journey up until today but your actions/inaction over the past number of weeks is what will be talked about most when this game and your company fails in the not so distant future.

If cheaters spend money, then cheaters get to play. ZOS likes their money.
    make-it-rain-dollars.gif

So this game isn't Pay2Win, its Pay2Cheat? I didn't know there was something worse than P2W but I guess this is it. If this is truly the case then I am really disappointed. Again. ZOS seems to have inconsistent enforcement policies and that can really kill good will between players and the dev team.

What I'm tripping on... Is how do you as a company have: Admins, moderators, etc. for your forums, who were appointed to be of help to the forum members... You know, the people who lace the company of these staff member's pockets... And yet, 9x out of 10 they're hushing important topics up, and sweeping critical things like this under the rug. MEANWHILE! They ban and warn people who've been supporting the community and game, for: Naming-and-shaming, and for repeatedly bringing up "controversial" and "sensitive" topics....

Hm... What if the people who were appointed to assist us, are only there as a front, and to collect a check or whatever form of payment they receive. All the while, they either don't even play the game themselves, and or aren't even truly interested in what's plaguing the community and game at all... I mean, with all the changes some of these developers are doing — I've been truly wondering if these cats are truly active in the game.

I have played a hell of a lot of online games and this is the first one ever that has actually given known hackers a second chance like seriously think about that for a second, and to top it off these known hackers are back in game and gloating about SMDH ZOS

nah, playing runescape back in the day I had 4 manual permanant bans, 105 mutes, where 1 or 12 of them were susposed to be per, anant. But then again zos is headed in the same direction. jagex did not care if they lost 80% of their playerbade overnight. I guess the difference is with eso you can't see how many people are pk=laying, so I guess we wont ever know foe sure.

Now you could say - Hey anyone could say that in zone. Maybe they where messing around and really didn't cheat. Well I blocked out their name because I don't want to be banned and I know the name and they did cheat and where caught and posted youtube video of them during the unlimited ult debacle.

I guess if you pay your $15 a month ZOS really doesn't care what you do after all.

You just figured that out, haven't you? Welcome to the game! :D
But seriously ZOS needs to get some real GMs who will be logged on and actually present in game. In WoW there's always a GM who can help you out or find and punish a cheater.

Seriously, send in a tip here if you actually want to see change made. All the forum rage in the world won't force ZOS to do anything, as nobody checks these forums but people who already bought the game. IGN is seen by many more people, and an article describing ZOS completely dropping the ball on stopping hackers in the game would be such bad press (especially so soon after their E3 announcement) that ZOS would be forced to do something.

I've recently gotten a warning on these forums (bigger punishment than what CE users got -_-).

I also said I would stay away from inflammatory topics and not get baited anymore. It's just.....

You all wouldn't believe how much I seriously...... dislike...... the way ZOS handles cheating.

If no one is too busy, spreading the word of how ZOS deals with exploits and cheating to other forums and news article writers may help with pushing ZOS out of their snug little comfort zone. Creating more threads about it will also help others who do not visit the forums often at all see it.

Tarnish some reputation, threaten sales, and all of a sudden we will see real action take place.

I know for a fact that if I had heard about these issues before starting ESO, I would immediately have gave up on all plans to even try it. All these actions have taught me is to exploit the next raw material exploit we find, since:

Maybe those cheaters are being watched? :-/ I mean, maybe they are given a 2nd chance, but if they mess again, they'd be banned for good.

I myself haven't seen a cheater, but I do trust they come around every now and then. Anyway, they are pitiful little creatures with no values. I know they wouldn't stop me progressing my own game that I play. If they are in Cyrodiil, well, the guilds and other players can always report them. Still, they are not the majority, but small, pitiful, minority.

Jessica already clarified that permabans do not mean "permanent".
we may decide to give a player who has been permanently banned a final chance after investigating a situation and speaking with them.
Please take careful note, this is not talking about cases of wrongful bans, this is "giving second chances" to people who have been permabanned simply after "speaking with them". Nothing is even done to their accounts.

And yes, the evidence is players seeing people who were permabanned now in game and gloating about what they did. I don't know what you expect from asking us for the specific evidence on these individuals, since anyone who provides it for you is liable to be banned for "naming and shaming".

well I would really like to see a reply of someone from ZOS to this tread!!!

In my opinion for deliberate hacking there should be no mercy, no second try, no first warning for people who do it, THEY REQUIRE A PERMABAN FOR THAT, OR AT LEAST A HALF YEAR BAN!!!

All I can say is the threads were locked and deleted. As these will be as soon as they are seen. We can't even point you at the proof. Apparently some of the people have been given another chance. I can assure you that it is not about trolls, but real people that were perma banned and are now back in the game. This isn't strictly a PvP issue, other things were impacted. The forums have been lit up for a good portion of the last few days over this. Mostly here, but not only under General. They may open a new thread after the dust has settled, we were informed that it was too heated. You can go to the dev tracker and it is on the top of the list if you want to see the response given.

So I am making a solid attempt to not be so heated, personally.

yes, they have locked my thread about this too, because for spamming (I tagged all zos employees that I could find) and for bumping.....but I believe they are also pretty annoyed about the reposts.

That quote from Jessica does indeed sound like they unban those people yes, but I'm curious what is talked about to lift a ban.

If we really got unbanned players running around, that's awful already and very questionable to say the least, but I'd love to know what allowed them to enter the game again. That's more valuable information to judge on than a dev answer containing almost no info.

If someone talked with a unbanned person and the reason he's back is because he said "I'm sorry i won't do it again", then yes, this is a very disappointing way to deal with cheaters, especially since it's been done since the beginning and those could harm the game too long anyway.

    Yup,

I yanked my sub and I'm done for now. No point in even logging everything is tainted by this. This has destroyed all the credibility the game had left. You can't let people who cheat go unpunished. This has set a bad precedent that will just further embolden cheaters.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom why should someone who deliberately is hacking the game server receive a second chance??? that is not "trying out if some exploit works", or "I accidentally discovered an exploit possibility and I did it few times" or "I am cheating using an exploit that no-one cares about", that is HACKING.

I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT A DELIBERATE HACKING REQUIRES A SECOND CHANCE AT ALL!!!

What I don't get is... ZOS hopes to 'make up for the bad reputation' they suffered at launch which included cheats and exploits with this whole 'One Tamriel' "relaunch"... but yet here they are admitting that they will continue to allow cheaters and exploiters to remain in the game 'after talking to them'. So a player who breaks the ultimate gaming rule, the worse offense they could possibly do, is still allowed to play the game... what does this tell potential new players who might want to play ESO?!? I'm sorry but ZOS, you can FINANCIALLY AFFORD TO LOSE these cheaters as a means of letting the gaming world know you take it seriously... but instead it appears like you care more about the almighty dollar than you do about maintaining the integrity of your game!!
