Skills Reset Confusion

Forewarning, I'm on PS4.

Been excited for the DB release for months. Veteran ranks finally removed and so many changes to the game that make it feel somewhat brand new and upon logging in, all my characters get the same message that "Your skill points have been refunded;you will need to go set them again. "

... Only they haven't...

So what gives? I see that resetting the points is easy and the cost is 1 gold per skill point (from the looks of it) but if I reset my skills will the game just automatically reset them again in a day or two? Or is this message incorrect and it should have read "Your Champion Points have been refunded..."

Help me out someone would you?

They have not been consistent on this (reset skill points or not reset) and as far as console goes, we didn't know it was coming for sure. Unless you are in the forums (and most Xbox players are not) you got surprised. Mournhold was full of people asking whats going on.

Perhaps it is a communication issue on the company's part. I would like to see some sort of oversight on communications, that would help with the confusion you had.

    This.

CP were reset. Skills were not, although characters between levels 5 and VR15 received some extra skill and attribute points to adjust for the change to align the 16 VR points into a level 50 scale. (If you ever had any skill points "bug" on you and not credited to your character, you got these as well. Husband finally got the two he had been missing since February.)

Thank you. Crisis averted, though I have found another...

A little off topic but was there any reason that when browsing the Guild Traders, and picking a specific champion points level you are allowed to select a level NOT in a multiple of 10? There are no items of non-multiple of 10 yet when you pick one, it only shows you items rounded down to the nearest 10??? Obviously not game breaking but annoying and unneeded in my opinion.

This is probably one of those things where there were two ways to do it. They probably went with the one that would confuse the least number of players as they would put in their current CP Rank and the game takes care of the rounding. Otherwise, they would get the inevitable questions, "Why can't I find CP145 Gear?" because it would not return any results, in this case CP140 gear

I do agree that it would be better to have 10 point steps, especially if you have to use an Up and Down Arrow and scroll through the various levels (on the PC, we can type in the number)

Is it unfair that toons get free skill points that are unearned?

Or are they kind of infinite now?

It's just that I know of people who made the "wrong" choice in the mages guild who were moaning over just one lost skill point.

They did earn them. Now, the Skill points you used to get during Vet Ranks are assigned out during Leveling Ranks. There has to be a mechanism to give those points to those already leveled, but did not gain Vet16 to get those points they would have if they had leveled under the new system. No one is getting anything they did not earn or rather, should have earned.

As for the Mages Guild, that is 2 Skill Points for being a jerk with regards to Valaste.

After console release the first big patch they reset skills.

And the cavalcade of console players lighting up the forums like fireworks show on the fourth of July complaining because they couldn't remember their build or skill point allocation.

So not the just reduced the price to use the skill reset shrine. It's one gold per skill point.

Gear only exists in multiples of 10s, that's why.

That's what I mean. Gear exists, only, in multiples of 10 but you can select a champion level of, lets say, 73, through the Guild Trader.
