Returning duo (already champ 100 and 50)

Hello there community,

I just want to start by saying that I'm sorry I failed ESO and stopped playing :( my friend and I had some other friends that all stopped playing so we kinda were pissed and stopped too.

But now is a new day and we are thinking of coming back. I still follow the news about ESO and it got me back here.

I'm so freakin lost about what changed in the game though! It all looks soooo good :)

I'm probably not the first one asking some of these questions but I looked through 3 pages and I've read some stuff but I'm still a bit confuse.

I know you guys might think I'm *** or that I should try and see for myself but I'd like some guide lines.

TL:DR
got back with a friend to duo this awesome game until we can do late game stuff and wondering about some game stuff.

Any info or anything will be greatly appreciated. I'll keep browsing the forum for info though :)

Ok here's the real questions:

1 - I'm champion point 100 (or Vet 10 back then) how can I duo with my friend that is lower lvl than me?

2 - What can I do at that lvl. I'm past 50 I can probably try some vet dungeons I guess.

3 - fastest way to get champ point is probably questing, PvP, grind maybe!?

4 - I won't ask about set items since I'm no where near the lvl to use them :pensive:

5 - Damnit I have no other questions in my head right now -.-

I really hope it wasn't too bad for a comeback :pensive:

Hope you guys have a nice day.

Best regards,

Canadian friend Arothorn :)

You can always play with others of different levels/champion ranks, but currently if the difference is huge one player will be OP. Later this year the One Tamriel update will make it even easier for you to play with others of different levels and even of different Alliances. There are lots of quests and dungeons to try at your level, and if you are subbed or buy DLC the new zones scale you both up to that additional content.

As for broader/additional questions from being away that you might think of, this will help:

    Hey Tinythinker,

Thanks for the really short reply. I saw that link in another post it's some great stuff.

I'll probably sub for a month to try the new stuff.

We decided to return because of the One Tamriel update. but we didn't want to wait too long so we decided to start right away :P

I guess there is no shortcuts to exp right!? best way is to quest!? I know about the exp pots/scrolls so if that can help I'll probably be using that :P

Thanks again for the answer :)

Well, also for grinding and for questing (since quests also include mobs) there is the fact the Training trait now gives bonus XP for mob kills. That can stack with the ESO+ bonus to XP earned and your XP pots/scrolls.

The best source of XP is the daily random dungeon 100k+ XP, but obviously can only be completed once a day. CPs should come pretty quickly for you due to enlightenment (a CP catch up mechanic if you're not aware).

    Hey Danksta,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I noticed that I was getting a bonus exp. That's awesome for returning players :)

Another questions. This time about set items.

I started reading the bonuses and all, but I might have not read enough about them and I probably should google it. But since you guys answer soooooo quick and with so much knowledge I going for it :P

Can I craft the set items or it's drop only?

Is it only in some instances or everywhere in the map!?

Is it a lot more OP than crafting items directly!?

Damn I know I'm annoying with questions but thanks anyway! :)

    Good day all!

Because of the CP catch-up mechanism, if you and your friend both get roughly the same XP he/she will get fairly close to your CP level reasonably quickly.

If your friend is just starting out then they won't start getting any CP untill they get to L50. If this is the case then I strongly suggest that you start an alternate character to go through the levelling process with your friend. Once you both hit L50 then you will both start earning CP and the aforementioned catch-up mechanism will do its work as described above.

You can't craft the dropped set items but you CAN craft items with a trait once you have researched the trait. The trick is that you need to find (or buy) an item with the trait you want so you can use it for research. The other drawback is that you need to research the trait on each item that you want to create. If you know the training trait on swords for instance you can only use that trait on swords, not daggers or axes until you research the trait on those as well.

The short answer to traits is to start researching immediately and never have a research slot going idle - ALWAYS have something researching in each craft.

You also CAN craft some set items, some of which are amongst the most desirable sets in the game - Hundings Rage and Law of Julianos for instance. To create these you need to find the special crafting locations scattered throughout Tamriel as well as have a certain number of traits (as described above) researched. A bit of judicious googling will point you to where these crafting stations can be found. This is the other reason to get that research going ;)

    Hey Elephant42,

thanks for the reply and sorry for taking so long to answer. Stupid work is getting in the way of gaming. :P

Thanks for the info. I think we'll be alright to start again. We'll do some quests for my friend that still has some zones to do before catching up to me. Then we'll try finding some stuff to craft and all.

After that we'll start working on group dungeons :P

And also we need to find a guild that can invite us so we don't play all by ourselves :P

Thanks again to everyone that answered my post.

    Regards,
