...and be frank with me, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom , am I going to need to upgrade my rig before we get Murkmire?

Because I noticed a not-insignificant drop in framerates with all that animated shrubbery and waterfalls and such.

I built my comp in 2011, it was medium-high end then and runs ESO fine everywhere else. The question is; is ESO going to continue to require more and more system resources as it grows and you guys push the limits of your game engine? Or was this just a fluke of a not-especially-optimized area?

I'm not complaining, I just want to be prepared.

Yeah, it's not impossible that the stuttering was a result of me mashing the screenshot button. lol.

But, seriously, yes. Super cool. Better than even I expected and I've been fantasizing about Blackmarsh since Elder Scrolls II.

I was really disappointed that the quest immediately took me inside a building because I wanted to stay outside.
I probably spent an hour trying to find a way over the various hills and rocks blocking me from seeing more.

I know.I stood there and turned my camera around several times just staring at the surroundings.
Wow.Why cant they add that look into the game more than the look in Grahtwood? I mean,Grahtwood is lovely, but it would be amazing if it looked that lush!

Blackmarsh does share a border with southeast Cyrodiil, so perhaps it was simply very close by?
Now I wish I could go back and look. :(

    @hingarthuub17_ESO

This was probably a Map Mechanic. The game knows where you are based on the last overworld place you were at. When you are sent to an Interior Cell that does not have a reference point on the overworld map, the game will report your last known overworld location.

There are a few places in the game where you are sent somewhere, but the map shows you back at the original location in some cases.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

The zone maps are currently bugged too. Reported it several times already.

When you're looking at a zone map and zoom in and then close the map and reopen immediately, the map will be offset by a large margin.

I hear what you're saying. The only way I know of to get into Blackmarsh was via a quest. You travel with a caravan that's located right outside of Anvil.

Right, and what he's saying is that, despite appearing to be outdoors, the game may have it coded as an interior location with no map reference.

I built my PC this year 5780k i7, 32GB ram and using x2 GTX970's, all watercooled and running sweet as. Nothing really gives my computer jip, even editing or processing 4k video in Final Cut Pro.

I log onto ESO and im getting ~200-400 latency and FPS can be anywhere, game stuttering while in combat with more than a few people. I dont even group anymore with people outside UK as i think this impacts me also - I don't know why.

Latency isn't really a system resource issue, though. Unless you've just got a junk network adapter; otherwise, that's all in the cables and routers.

The game map in Oblivion kinda messed our concept of distance and locations up due to Bethesda dev's trying to cram a lot of stuff into the area... but yeah Black Marsh is listed as being right next to Cyrodiil.

I have to agree with this as well. I really felt that the foliage should have been more dense in Grahtwood, although it could have been a hardware issue perhaps. It makes sense though, considering it is the heart of the GREEN PACT in a land of carnivorous elves who revere the green things.
