Too scared to go to Wrothgar

This place crashes more than the drivers in my state of Virginia!
I can't even enter the city to do anything without crashing to the dashboard. I can only get to where the writs area is, but any further...BOOM. Crash.
Seriously? And I PAID FOR THIS?!

Xbox players have been complaining about this Since the DLC launched. They're not going to fix it. They have NEVER even acknowledged the issue.

its not unusable on xbone just a tad annoying. doesnt happen all the time but at least once near boss daily or inside the city.

Now I wonder what is so different with Orsinium compared to other regions, that it is causing such problems on xbox. On PC this DLC runs like a charm, not different to other regions.

Well having the server side data travel very far doesn't help at least I believe it doesn't. @Lysette

This could be a problem with Xbox 1s hardware. If this was a PC Problem I would ask for DXdiagnostic but if it was mac I don't know its equivalent.

Probably because Wrothgar is highly detailed AND really big. Base regions don't have such number of artifact for their constructions (especially for Orsinium itself, who ask a lot of ram), and other new regions aren't that big.

most of us run Wrothgar with absolutely NO PROBLEM, and almost NEVER crashing... consider the idea that it just MIGHt be on YOUR END.

Its probably the Trophy room. The assets are not culled, but are rendered where ever you are in the zone, all the time.

Seriously though, it is the place where I get the biggest FPS drop in the game...

I have to do my writs as soon as I get on. I have to use the wayshrine north of the city and run into the writ part of the town. The wayshrine insode the city is asking for trouble.

If I go to orisinium after more than half an hour of playing it's guaranteed crash.

The rest of Wrothgar will sometimes crash (not often) but the main city is like a no go zone.

We used to have the same problem with Rivenspire when the game first released they fixed it but it just moved to Wrothgar.

I have about 13,000 km to the server and no issues with that - distance cannot really be an issue here.

Well, playing on PC and Wrothgar is trouble for me too. Crashes are not an issue (anymore), but lags, FPS drops and ping (latency shoots through the roof) are annoyingly often (more so in orsinium). Adding to it, I encounter problems with phasing ... i.e. getting attacked by NPC mobs before they are actually visible (which is probably related to lag and FPS drops - however in most cases my FPS and latency is displayed within normal range when this occurs).

I do not know how to work around this problems and other PVE regions to work fine. This is letting me conclude its not a problem on my side of the line, but a glitchy (buggy) performance issue related to the DLC.

I'd turn down your graphics settings. Since I've done that I've not crashed there once in months. Hopefully something like that will help you too.

Hm, NPC attacking before they have visually spawned - I had that a couple of times, but I was sprinting through a rather densely filled area with all kind of critters and lots of fights going on around me. So this was related to latency most likely. To me it is anyway rather high due to the distance to the server.

Depends @Lysette I was in Wrothgar doing a few dailies last night and I felt the lag, it is real...

It felt like The Gold Coast felt on day 2 ( server pop was so high the ping spiked ), now IDK why Wrothgar would have so many people ( perhaps farming mats for new gear ? ) but the population on EU at least did grow tremendously.

Or the influx of "max level" characters / toons that now want to complete the quests in the zone perhaps ( another theory )

@gamerguy757, are you on PC or console? Is it just within Wrothgar that you're having this crashing issues? I'm on PSN and had crashing as well as bad lagging issues for about 2 weeks straight, but going strong for about a week now without any crashing issues. I think the crashing issues has something to do with DB being installed for release. If you're using PS4, it could be the CD issue. I had to reorder other games before a fews time cause I think the game CD was corrupted. When I got the new replacement CD, it normally works fine.

Wrothgar performs fine on 2 of my gaming rigs and performs *horribly* on my 3rd. They are all identical hardware (and have all unnecessary Sound Devices disabled).

After I get all the pieces for the psyjiic ambrosia recipe, my crafter will no longer be doing writs so she never has to log into Wrothgar again.

I used to love the zone, but it always crashes, and the drops ate coded to give you the least useful items for your character, so there's no point.

I wish Wrothgar was what it looked like it was, but it's just a zone of shattered dreams and forced hard resets of the Xbox. I wish I could disable it, so my writs were in Craglorn instead.

Sent a ticket in--they finally sent a message saying they are aware of the problem but do not have any plan to correct it at this time.

Every time I go into teh middle of Orsinium for the first time it is a guaranteed CRASH.

Writs are a pain, most time you can get away with the north of the city wayshrine and slip into drop your writs off.
But if you go too far into the city your crashing for sure.
Relog in and your back on your way most times. Very annoying.

A charm is something else^^, but yeah it is like any other region in fact.

Well, more character slots for sale now means that there is suddenly a bunch of new alts around. And a lot of those will not be leveled in normal base game zones, but in level-scaled zones. I think, that is where the sudden increase comes from.

I defended my Xbox One for a long time, but going to PS4 has been a much better experience all around.

I may have misspoke. It isn't Wrothgar...it's Orsinium. Any place in Wrothgar I go to is absolutely fine. It's only when i go to the city of Orsinium is when it's a problem.
