Ignoring Dodge Roll

So I get hit with surprise attacks, heavy attacks, light attacks, venom arrow initial hit, incap strike... So what exactly is the point of dodge roll if it doesn't do anything?

It looks cool, makes you look athletic. Being serious though it's probably lag unless you've uncovered some bugs in the new patch. Dodge roll does avoid light and heavy attacks.

Yeah but it was in the middle of spamming dodge roll, I kinda presume it is lag but dodge roll never works with this one guy specifically. As in I've never actually dodged an attack

Dodge roll does not give you i-frames the whole duration. It negates incoming attacks on activation and that's it. But due to how the server treats your actual position versus displayed position, you may as well have i-frames the whole duration. But you don't. As long as people attack your actual position, you will be hit mid roll.

Erm, wat? I'm pretty sure none of my attacks are able to hit dodgerolling players, i mean you can even dodge a *** cone attack and dragon leap... and don't even get me started on evasion. Dodgeroll evasion builds are *** horrible to fight against, not being able to land 80% of your attacks sucks arse...

its the timing tbh all oh those are dodgrable with rolls. an example of this is casting wb or dizzying swing shortl after someone has dodge rolled it will still hit

I'd say lag? Or some newly introduced bug?

All that can hit you while dodgerolling is heavy shock staff/resto staff attacks and abilities which also are "channels".
