What class is the most fun to level?

kehatchb16_ESO
First of all, I am not looking for the strongest leveling class. Second of all, I know fun is objective. I am looking for your objective impressions

I don't follow a build to level. Instead I use my skill points entirely on active weapon and class skills and level them all. That gives me the most varied experience and lets me try all of the skills. It also means I have them all unlocked for end game builds. I do have an ideal build in my back pocket in case I run into some tougher content, but for the most part I just swap weapons and skills as soon as they are leveled up.

Keeping that in mind what class do you find the most varied and fun if you were to level all skills going from level 1 to 40?

Ive only been a sorc but am recently trying a DK. Ive always heard sorcs are most fun for soloing pve, although really pve zones arent that difficult but end game pve is a different story. I've also heard templar is about the most versatile class.

Hopefully someone else can add more insight than I can.

The most fun has been DK for myself . Very tanky . The most practical was Nightblade . Easy to skip past NPCs .

It's hard to answer cause all classes are totally different with Magicka and stamina counterparts. I guess it depends on how you like to play and which class interests you most.

Thanks for the responses so far.

I haven't enjoyed the Templar when I have played one. Seems like a lot of healing combined with spamming puncturing strikes. There hasn't seemed like a lot of variety in the class and I really hate spamming skills. Maybe I am just playing it wrong. Even so, I haven't really liked most of the skills I have tried. Powerful for sure, just not fun. At least for me.

I have enjoyed the Nightblade a lot. But that is probably because I enjoy archer classes and I enjoy stealth classes. But I have a NB in the 40s and I am returning after a bit of an absence so I am going to try something new.

I am really stuck between the DK and the Sorcerer.

For the sorcerer I love the contrast between a traditional caster and a stealth based range build similar to the way I played my NB. I also like that they melee is a great option really giving some variety as I level. Unfortunately I just haven't loved the Sorcerer as I have leveled. One of the skill lines is dedicated to pets (yawn) and I haven't fell in love with any of the skills I have tried.

So far I am leveling a DK and I am enjoying it early. The skills seem varied and there seems to be some real strategic synergy available. My only issue is that I love playing the stealth based archer and it doesn't sound like that is viable for the DK like it is for the Sorcerer and NB.

Like many here I am an altoholic. I guess I am hoping someone is going to sell me on a class before I end up switching another ten times  Which is why I am asking what others enjoyed about leveling their classes.

I think templars are one of the most fun classes to play. Throw on the javelin skill and you try to tell me it isn't fun to throw a javelin at things and knock them off a cliff. It may not be the most powerful skill but fun is the objective.

Also try using dark flare, radiant destruction and repentance. You can always throw a destro staff too to mix up skills.

You don't have to just run around spamming puncturing strikes to use a templar. They have much more versatility than that.

If decision is between the sorc and dk I'd go dk. Sorc is renound for being a class with not much variety. I have a v16 sorc my main and I speak from experience.

IMO nightblade is most fun class, then I'd say dk next. Based purely on variety.

I played around a bit with all of the classes but I ended up back on my Nightblade and I haven't regretted it.

I really didn't dig the Templar at all. I just didn't like the feel of the class. I am sure it's a great class, but it wasn't for me.

I liked the Sorcerer but I was playing it like a Nightblade. Given the issues the class is going through right now I figured I might as well play my Nightblade. I don't really care for it as a casting based class.

The DK was fun enough. I prefer it over the sorcerer as a casting class. I am not a big fan of a straight up bruiser so I focused on the magic skills. But there wasn't enough variety for me.

The Nightblade just feels right when specced as a stealth class. All the classes have different ways to play them but generally I don't like the feel of many of the specs. But for the NB I like my range and melee build and there are other builds I want to try.

Anyway, thanks for the input all.

I cannot answer by class... because that's really not how I think of them.

I level characters. I really really really wish the class system would be dismantled and all skill lines would be open to all characters.

That being said, I tended to choose Sorcs early on (LOOVVEE summonable things) but eventually one of my characters ... well she's just a assassin (not evil... think necessary... um cross 007 and the Morag Tong)

From the Morrowind Wiki: "As known in the West, Mephala is the demon prince of murder, sex, and secrets. All of these themes contain subtle aspects and violent ones (assassination/genocide, courtship/***, tact/poetic truths); Mephala is understood paradoxically to contain and integrate these contradictory themes." — Vivec and Mephala"

Anyway, this character just was not truly a sorc so I had to re-roll her and am leveling her as a NB.

As far as "fun" when I'm not in that character's head, I work on/with another one. You can see a few of my fav's in my sig.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

My magicka Dragonknight took forever to level, but she was always surviving things she shouldn't have, and she made me a better player. She was my first character. She's VR16.

My magicka Sorceress was good at finishing quests above her level, but the playstyle wasn't really my thing. She's level 7 and holding my bank stuff right now. I fully intend to level her someday, but not in a rush.

My magicka Templar finds things easy. She only plays with my husband, and we have been focusing our mains, so she is only level 13. Not from lack of interest, though! I most recently played on her this past Sunday.

My magicka Nightblade is level 12 or so? She is a vampire, and I have big plans for her, but I am not really interested in playing her right now. I will need to respec her into something a bit different, to regain my interest, I think?

My stamina Templar is level 35. She is the youngest of all my characters, by I am very comfortable with her already. She levels quickly, holds her own in PUG random dungeons, and is only wearing level 10 armor. (It is purple, at least.) She is going to be a beast, and I love her.

I have plans for a stamina Dragonknight, but want to level some of the others first. Plus I have not settled on a race and name yet, which is important to me.

So... Dragonknight and Templar, in my opinion, are the most fun.
