Should the New Blocking Icon be on a Toggle?

I guess not everyone will be agreeing (and that's fine).

But when I first saw the new block thingy, I was like "that's pretty cool".

Yes, more customization is never a bad thing. Keep it turned on if you like it!

I can see why some might enjoy it, but it gets in the way of things like screenshots. Unnecessary in practice, and undesirable in a variety of situations. A toggle lets those who want it enjoy it and lets everyone else do as they will.

    True
I can only see it being useful in PvP.and also there only on others, it on yourself.
Same with the *** bow indicator.

And we told them this on PTS. Toggle.

Seriously, they should not implement anything like this without a toggle.

If my tank is using a sword and shield, I'm just not sure why she needs it? It's already obvious when she's holding up her shield. So for that case, no, not needed.

I'm fine either way really. I still like the idea of being able to customize it though. Like if you have cold resist on your shield, have an ice effect, etc. Maybe have them based on alliance, class, etc. Maybe sell custom block icons in the crown store for a small amount of crowns, so that people have something they can get with that lingering 100 crowns. :)

If it was only for shields...

Yes, you should be able to toggle it, the blocking indicator is big and looks really bad, it looks out of place. No one asked for a blocking indicator, I can see that you are blocking from across the map, I don't need an indicator to show me.

voted yes just because, even though I see it's utility, I personally find it mildly distracting, and I would prefer it to be gone for most of my PVE gameplay experience.

So I found out that I still do have the blocking visual, but I play on such low graphical settings that it only appears to me when I am zoomed in very close to my character.

One of the selling points of the game in it's early days was the minimalistic, immersive, unobstructive, undistracting ui.
It's focus on questing, IT'S FOCUS ON ELDER SCROLLS STYLE AND GAMEPLAY made me buy it...
But day by day... It's less and less of a TES game

Yes its intrusive and immersive breaking, however the option shouldn't be to just disable it but to allow it to be disabled for 1st or 3rd person or both.

Zos irritate the *** out of me with this crap. Many of us want an IMMERSIVE experience why they thought to add this without a toggle just completely blows my mind. ALSO, the basic attack animation has been bugged for ages now and I been fighting tooth and nail to get that fixed. Even got them to say they were working on it on eso live, months ago. For those on console, both consoles have this issue but it's not on pc, hold down your right trigger for a few full basic attacks, after the first one your toon will glitch out at the peak of the swing. Yet another immersion breaker preventing the game from true glory

To a noob or someone just learning to block and bash it is great! Very helpful. But after this learning phase it's just in the way. A toggle is the perfect solution.

But... Can't said noob see he is blocking by the blocking animation? or the stance? or the way he moves when blocking? Or because he is pressing the button?
