Rather dull sounding DLC really

Still cant see a reason to buy it or re-sub personally.

Honestly all I see when new things are added to this game are more things to go wrong. They seem to quite able to add to new content but near incompetent at making it all work properly.

How many weeks on PTS? and they found something obviously critical on release.. how does that work..

If it doesn't excite you, then don't buy it, it's really that simple.
Whether you like it or not, a lot of players really enjoy the quest/story-oriented DLCs, before the server went down for the unplanned fix, Anvil was extremely busy, so obviously plenty of people are interested in playing that sort of content.

DLC so far is fun. Crafting bag alone IMO is worth the sub. new area to check out and new questline = more content. pretty decent so far (I'm not doing too much atm out there to avoid the crowds).

And why do things like this crop up when they weren't found on PTS? because no matter how identical the PTS is to the live environment, stuff crops up on live that often wasn't even there on the PTS. I work in IT, we test dozens of updates that come across our test environment, and I can tell you that more often then not, something that works perfectly in test labs ends up having an issue on live. Even when both environments seem 98% identical. It's part of IT that hasn't change in a long time.

No matter how good the test environment is, there are simply too many variables that exist in a live environment that customers have access to. things happen. A good company is quick to catch these things during upgrade or release, and the better their tech teams, the faster and quieter it is fixed. But they always exist. and with the corners that many dev teams have to cut nowadays to make ends meet, often it's QoS that gets lost in the shuffle. This is another personal experience area.

But...if it's a concern for you, wait till they get things stabilized, and plunk down 15$ to try out the DLC. Personally, IMO it's not a huge loss.Your already riding for free on servers and tech that costs a great deal of money to keep going...even if they don't push out new content. content of this caliber IMO is worth paying 15$ for. YMMV.

In all honestly, I'm a supporter of people who talk with their pocketbook. Companies tend to pay attention to that, as no matter how much people gripe on the forums, forum threads do not impact a bottom line. income does. If enough people don't pony up, the company listens. I remember this happening very vividly on release. If enough people are unhappy, we'll know.

But I don't think that's the case. Its a good DLC. they just had some issues out of the gate. Issues like this are common enough in the MMO environment that most vet players expect it. I remember having these exact conversations back in my DAoC days. haven't changed much.

3 single player DLC's in a row. It's no wonder they don't appeal to the MMO crowd. Myself, a fan of ES, I don't even like these DLC's, if I wanted to play single player I'd go play Oblivion or Morrowind.

We need a DLC that will bring players together whether it be PvE or PvP.

Its quite obvious that ZoS doesn't do enough testing on these DLCs. Nearly everyone that has been released since the game went "B2P" has been riddled with game breaking glitches and/or exploits. Not to mention the balancing issues are ridiculous. If any ZoS employee actually played the game they would realize a lot of these issues within hours.

What is really upsetting is that players test the game on PTS and give plenty of good feedback. Most of which is thrown aside and never even acknowledged by ZoS. Sad really.

    I agree,

I liked Orsinium but Thieves Guild and DB are pretty lame and tiny compared...

Also the incompetence of ZOS is just getting worse and worse...they remove harmless effects from the game instantly if not intended but take months or years to fix game breaking exploits, bugs or issues....or charge 4000 crowns for a mount...it's disgusting...

I also refuse to pay more money for crafting bags when the should of been in the game years ago...

Don't blame those of us that test the game on the PTS. They gave us up to *.4 patch to test and released *.5 to live without testing it.

They made changes inbetween PTS and the version put on Live. It is probably there something went wrong, and these things happen, you should not expect them to fix everything with the PTS. I don't think it's something to be so crude about. They are simply ensuring we have the play experience. I for one am glad they are able to push out content every quarter, as I have played many MMOs in the past that had development time on content of the same size but with 3 times or more of a wait time.

As for the expansion itself, I have played it through and really enjoyed it. It has a better story than the Thieves' Guild (in my opinion) and I absolutely adore the new zone.
Sidenote: This expansion also has my favourite side-quest by a long mile, "The Sweetroll Murderer", very entertaining and full of surprises :p

Obviously there are different strokes for different folks, but if you liked Orsinium and Thieves' Guild, then you'll like this expansion as well. No doubt.

There wasn't nearly enough people on PTS. Really hard to test stuff like that.

The PTS is different from Live, too. It is impossible to find everything, even with enough people testing, let alone with almost no one there.

I suggest giving up playtime on Live to test the PTS yourself if that's what you think

Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

You think the game has been riddled by bugs since it went B2P? XD You were not around for the actual release of the game were you? When we had to wait 2-4 days for quests to be fixed so we could progress on the main quest line? For when Nightblades had about 40% of their kit so bugged the abilities simply didn't work? XD ZOS has always had serious issues play testing their game and they always, always release a patch that hasn't actually been tested in the PTS.

Single player dlc? The dlc's give players the chance to play on their own if desired, rather than being forced to group up. You are assuming all players want to play in groups. Also, mmo means massive multiplayer online, which does not equate to group play.
There is nothing stopping players grouping for content, if they have friends in game, are in guilds, or grouping with a random player for that matter.
Want to see the result of group based dlc? Craglorn would be the example. Outside of the initial rush when Craglorn released, a lot players had trouble finding anyone to group with.

db is really a last strike for ke, if they junk up another dlc in a tiny ass expansiom with no added content or progression its time for me to move on. I dont wanna, Inprobably shouldve quit eso ages ago. but I DO feel something good is comming this way[/url]

Actually db got less content than tg
Both had 2 world bosses, 2 open dungeons, 1 quest chain, some side quests, similiar sized area( a lot of the gold coast is cliffs so its not that much bigger), repeatable (boring) quest
But tg also had a comeplety new trial ( revamped sanctum is part of the base game patch and making a new trial from scratch is more wok )

you know the simple act of adding files can cause bugs. Sure they tested it and sure it worked but copy the files to live and you have a second chance to create bugs. It happens a lot i mean think of EVERY mmo out there and the bugs that come with each update. As for crafting bags needing to be in game years ago and free. i do not think that is correct, those of us who have subed need a reason to keep subbing. we let our sub laps we lose the DLCs and everything else. compared to those who buy the DLC outright.
