Can Scatter Shot and Morphs knock down instead of disorient?

I'm not sure who decided that disorient was a good idea for CC, or even who decided that an archers CC should be a 10m ability, in any event both morphs are pretty much garbage as they are currently. There is almost a 0% chance that you will use Scatter Shot or either morph on someone who does not already have a dot effect on them, not because you don't want to but because dots are so prevalent and two of the best ones are both bow skills. At least if you could knock them down you might have a chance to shoot them, currently they don't even need to CC break 99% of the time.

Magnum shot as a gap creator is kinda garbage as well, the gap created is at best 12m and often less due to terrain or cc immunity, while the best direct damage skill on the bow snares the caster. Melee don't even need to gap close with that small of a gap and the archer snaring themselves. Even if they did a 28m gap closer always trumps a 12m then 6m gap creator. Shouldn't the range on this be something like 18m, so at least for a second you might be outside of gap closer range and be able to cast a snipe that will be dodge rolled, reflected, blocked?

    The whole concept of Scattershot and morphs really needs to be scrapped. It was a nice thought but ZOS executed it so poorly that its almost completely worthless, even with the new heal morph.

    The absolute only way this skill would be worth it would be if the range on it was 28 meters so that gap closers couldn't hit you and you'd actually have a chance at keeping the fight at a distance but the *** poor 10 meter range on it does nothing in a PvP environment and in PvE the enemies you'd want to knock away are either immune to it anyways or die so quickly anyways that it really doesn't matter.

    Since I highly doubt ZOS will ever grant this skill the actual buff it needs to be any good, this skill just needs to be flat replaced entirely.

    Something that grants major brutality would be a nice starting point but I feel that's beating a dead horse as countless others have suggested that buff already. Knock down idea works because Stamina really needs more GOOD hard CC moves that aren't Wrecking Blow/Dizzying Swing. I'd even take another DoT skill.

    ANYTHING is better than what Scattershot is now.

    Well, with a little more damage, major brutality added and a 15 meter range for the base skill while keeping the knockback, it can be a really good skill.
    One of the morph can improve the distance (the idea of a gap creator is good but TESO is too buggued at the moment to be really efficient) to at least 22 meter, the other could heal you for X% of the damage after 3 second (so even a cc-immunity target would give the heal).

    What makes Scattershot so incredibly useless?
    A ) The Range
    B ) The disorient

    I understand what The Concept of that skill Is tho


    Concept:

    "You Should have a way to Keep The distance, if someone comes too close, and fight back".

    That sounds great, but the point is: it does NOT work, as expected.


    Why does it not work?

    If someone attacks you, let's say with crit rush, you can already see him preparing the wreckingblow. Now, you can scattershot him, disorient him and effectively interrupt him. Nice.
    But what now? he is disoriented and either he will break free and have cc immunity to carelessly start another Wreckingblow OR you attack him and break the disorient YOURSELF.


    What has to change so the concept works out fine?

    A ) The Range must be increased, atleast 15m.
    B ) Disorient needs to be replaced with a CC, you cannot interrupt yourself.
    Possible CC's:
    - Knockback + Stun combo (Like wrecking blow)
    - Knockdown (like Invasion/Silverbolt on vampire)

    Or my favourite:
    - Knockback + Immobilize for 1 sec

    This is more effective because the knockback takes away Melee range, and immobilize will still work, even if the target has cc immunity.
    Now, also the damage should be a little lower to prevent immobilize spamming, making this more of an heal/utility ability.

    Let's also not forget the new heal we get with 1 morph in the coming dlc.
    Currently you get a 7k-ish heal when cc is broken. That heal will now be granted if a target is knocked back.


    So again the concept:

    Is this accomplished with my described changes?

    Yes, you can knock someone away and attack him without breaking your own cc, also stopping him from crit Rush spamming you. If you still received one, you scattershot him, have distance again and healed some of the damage + prevented a Wreckingblow to the face.

    I vote for replacing disorient with Immobilize, so if your opponent wants to gap close, they will need to dodge roll first (well, except if they are NB). In exchange, lower the damage of Scatter Shot and maybe increase the cost. If you have enough regen you can keep your opponent at bay and kite with root, force them to dodge roll and burn their stam. A fight between an archer build and a stam melee build will become a regen measure.

    I don't like the immobilize because we already have one of the best immobilize AOE's in bombard. I'd much rather have a knock back + knock down, it gives us something we don't already have and something that would actually be significantly useful in pvp and pve.

    As far as getting Major Brut, I wouldn't want that tied to a short range ability, if anything attach it as part of the poison from poison arrow. It would be even more interesting if instead of Major Brutality they gave us something like minor berserk on a poisoned target.

    All that aside though, scatter shot is abysmal as a skill and the simplest and most effect change is to have it knock down the target as well as knock them back.
