I put out 4.2k wpn dmg buffed with sword and shield on my stamplar plus the benefits of being less squishy while only losing around 200-300 wpn dmg. I don't even use full kena just shoulders with 3 piece night mothers and 5 piece hundings and 3x agility all weapon dmg enchants.(5 medium 1 heavy 1 light) You also get great skills like defensive posture and invasion which is probably the best gap closer in the game with a hard stun (unless you are a stamblade lol). Not to mention the shield is another piece to throw a stam glyph on and divines or what ever else. It's extremely viable. 58% crit with 33k stamina and 1700 stam recovery and 19,000 health. I'm an imperial and use shadow mundus for huge crit hits. I have my jabs so i don't need any skills from dual wield. Sword and board feels very natural on a templar dps.

If you PvP in a group, especially a small man, it's preferred. Assuming you know what assisting means.
