Turn in any level Writs anywhere -- Why not?

It seems to me that one should return the writ to where it was picked up and that any surveys should also match where the writ was picked up. Anything else seems like odd game design and contrived.

I could live with this as an alternate approach. More logical I suppose.

Newish player here - so where do players without orsinium turn in their writs? Or is it because your alts are too low level to enter the actual area? Im really hoping its the latter.

The writs you get are based on where you can turn in first, then proficiency.

If you don't have Orsinium you can only get up to the writs that turn in at Craglorn

If you aren't at least VR 1(needed to enter Craglorn) you only get up to writs that can be turned in at Hollow City in Coldharbor. Keep in mind any level can go to Coldharbour, you just need to get a group or guild port there if you haven't gone via the main quest yet.

If you haven't visited Hollow City(don't have the wayshrine) then you can only get writs up to the last zone in your faction.

And unless they changed this within the last few months. You can only do a writ tier if you can do the one below it. Like you can't get the Orsinium turn in writs if you have not been able to visit Craglorn and can't do Craglorn unless you have been to Coldharbour.

This was the original reason for leveling all my alts to VR 1. When Orsinium hit I was expecting my level 6's with full provisioning to be able to turn in at Orsinium, bypassing Craglorn all together. Alas it did not let me, Coldharbour was still the only place I could turn in till VR 1.

Agreed. I hate going to Wrothgar due to the crashes and numerous load screens. @ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom, please see if this can be a possibility, thank you.

I like riften because everything i need is generally around the bank and easy to access. Lately ive been busy so i try to log in and do my daily writs real quick but not having to travel to turn in would be great.

My preference would be each zone has the appropriate writ level for that area, with extant writ areas for folks with DLC. So if you go to Auridon on your AD too it's writs from level 1 to 17, Grahtwood would be 18 to 27... etc. The vet zones shoild offer the appropriate vet level writs. Craglorn would offer the only void/ruby writ except those in the DLC, giving more incentive get the DLC.

This would still require you have mats to do all of these writs, making low level mats valuable again.

Hew's bane would be nice to craft and hand in writs. It's the best farming zone.
