Turn in any level Writs anywhere -- Why not?

Why can't I turn in my crafting writs anywhere I want? Just have any rewarded surveys directed to the appropriate leveled map, but otherwise what difference does it make? The reward containers should be leveled to your skill no matter where you are.

With all the beautiful locations in the game, I'm pretty much forced to "live" in Wrothgar because I do writs every day. /annoyedface

You bring up a good point. Wrothgar/Orsinium crashes so often on me that I have to craft my writs in Craglorn then go to Orsinium to drop them off. Any more than a quick in and out of that city and I'm getting dumped to the main menu. Xbox NA.

This has been brought up before and would be a nice change. Most of my characters don't like hanging out in covenant zones just to do their daily writs. They would much rather stay at home somewhere in the dominion and not have to travel north every single day.

I support this idea as long as the crafting survey maps still follow the mat tier skill points invested (and aren't modified to follow the turn-in point).

I think the reason is they want to spread out the players. But, it still would be nice if we could drop off in any of the Alliance zones we are in.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I agree 100% with this. Surveys can stay in the appropriate zones but writs should be able to be turned in anywhere. I personally hate the layout of most writ turn-in cities for crafting, so I end up leaving characters elsewhere and just doing a lot of travelling. There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to turn in at any city in which we can pick up the quests, and only have to travel for surveys.

That lady NPC in craglorn near the wayshrine complains enough about her deliveries. Imagine if she had to deliver something to Glenumbra or Auridon. But I'm all for this. The worst crap is leveling alchemy with anything else. For instance, I can craft enchantments up to level 45. I can craft level 40 potions. I have to travel one zone back to a level 30 area to drop off the potions.

It will probably be another 5000 crown item in the store. Now for 5000 crowns you can call your special delivery writ servant!

Probably. But if I'm paying 5000 for a servant, it's not for deliveries, ya feel me

Probably an issue local to your machine. On PC NA I've never had anything that resemble a regular problem with any of the zones.

Often regular crashes are the result of a local issue when it's not wide spread issue like when TG launched.

At that, wrothgar turn in works just fine for me.

I suspect they were originally tying to tie this into your character level to make it hard to become a master crafter with a low level character. Now sure why as I don't see why having a crafting mule would be a bad thing. Of course, there are plenty of ways around it so if that was their goal it was not effectively implemented.

But whatever their original reasoning, at this point they should just open it up.

Agreed... I hate having to go to Colharbour only to drop of some potions, mainly due to the place where they located it on the world map. Maybe I'm lazy, but it's too much zooming in and out. And this city is so dull, with no background music whatsoever.

Yes, it makes perfect sense, after all all caravans are heading to Cyrodiil (it's where all the NPCs tell us the materials are going).

I'd like to build a little on your idea. Personally, I think it would be nice if we could complete writs once per zone tier:
    • The tier-relevant rewards/maps would be tied to the zone you picked up the writs in.
    • You deliver the materials for the writ in the zone you pick it up.
    • Once you complete writ/s in one zone you could go to the next.
    • All zone would give a chance for base rewards, such as glass motif scraps, etc.

So in essence, the daily writs are only tied to their zones. This would give many benefits I think, for example:
It would give crafting-orientated players something more significant to do each day if they liked.
    - If a crafter really wants to spend significant time going through and doing all of the writs across all their alliance zones in the game to increase their chances of, for example, getting scraps for the glass motif, then I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to.
It would increase the demand for lower tier materials.
    - It might just be worthwhile to go back to those lower tier zones for a bit of harvesting of materials if you like to sell to crafters or use for yourself.
It would provide opportunities for guild traders in appropriate zones to stock items relevant to that area.
    - There would be niches that open up for perhaps smaller guilds to corner a part of the market of lower/certain tier items and set up a guild trader in the appropriate zone.
It would give players options, in-turn spreading the player base out somewhat.
    - If one zone is particularly laggy/over populated for you, or you don't like it for whatever reason, you have the option to go to another alliance zone of your liking to pick up and complete some daily writs there. Perhaps you just love a particular city/town? Now, you can craft there everyday if you like.

Crafting is (should be) a significant part of any MMO game, and giving crafters in-game more things to do, I think could only be a positive.
If you can be anything, be kind.

The fact that you didn't see any form of acknowledgement from ZOS doesn't mean that they are not aware of the issue.

For example, pc users do have the /bug command allowing them to fill a bug report. At the end of the process, it tells you that Zos won't tell you what they do with the report. What you only know is that it created a new ticket in their bugtracker.

It seems to me that one should return the writ to where it was picked up and that any surveys should also match where the writ was picked up. Anything else seems like odd game design and contrived.
