New heavy armor suggestion

Hey guys,

Heavy armor is definitely improving. But there is one thing really holding it back. The disparity between stamina and magic tanks.

Magic tanks can continue to generate thier resource while blocking. But, stamina tanks can't. We all know why this happened, it was due to damage builds being able to hold block permanently while casting thier own spells. So the fix actually hurt stamina tanks most.

I would actually suggest a passive that gives you 10% of your stamina regen, per piece of heavy armor, while blocking.

It's a simple elegant solution, you can only ever get 70% regen, but that's with all heavy armor. If your running 5 light or med, you can get a max of 20%, so not enough to change the game back to what it was.

I think with this little change, in addition to the changes on the PTS, tanking may become more enjoyable, giving us more tanks.

What do you guys think?

But heavy armor is supposed to be heavy, wouldn't make much sense to have stam regen.

    On that note...

    Constitution
    Passive
    Rank I
With one or more pieces of Heavy Armor equipped:

Increases Health Recovery by 2% per piece of Heavy Armor equipped.
Also restores Magicka and Stamina each time you are hit, but only once every 8 seconds. Amount restored is increased per piece of Heavy Armor equipped.

    Bracing
    Passive
    Rank I
When a Heavy Armor set of 5 or more pieces is equipped:

Decreases Stamina cost of blocking by 10%.

Are these info outdated ? because between the passives and the shield passive/def posture, you shouldn't have any issue, unless you're just blocking all the time, and, in that case, magicka builds are actually way worse, because of the lower stamina pool.

Not trolling, really interested, I want to try to tank at some point, and it would be nice to know.

Those passives help both magic and stamina build tanks.

You should not be blocking every attack, but when you do block, there is then a period (of a few seconds) after that, before your regen kicks back in. During that window, stamina tanks are not generating the resources they use, but magic tanks are, as magic regen is not stopped by blocking.

    That's the disparity.

Also the heavy armor does not provide any stamina regen (not that I suggesting it should) that comes from other sources. But blocking stops that regen.

And in the next update they are going to take Bracing away from heavy armor. It sucks.

And they moved the blocking cp passive into the green trees, which are already the most important one for tanks, another nerf.

And they forgot to move the shield expert passive too which is now stuck in the useless steed constilation.

I want a heavy armor set for tanking that looks like this:

    2 pieces: +X Fire Resistance
    3 pieces: +X Lightning Resistance
    4 Piece: +X Cold resistance

    or

    2 piece: +X disease resistance
    3 piece: +X posion resistance
    4 piece: +X Magica resistance

or some combination thereof. The 5 piece bonus could be many things.

No ideas are original and I know I have none. But I saw one suggestion and if I could remember who said it I would credit them, but either way I liked it and thought it was unique.

Slotting the HA Ultimate would grant the same block stats that Brace did at five pieces, as well as a nice boost to defense and resistances.

The only other thing I could suggest is a mechanical change and that would be to do as they did with dps and remove the caps on defensive stats. Let us stack to the moons and back.

Not to sound like the Antichrist against your idea. But shouldn't Heavy Armor tire you out faster than someone wearing leather or cloth? You shouldn't be able to do somersaults or flips easily in heavy armor either.

Look at the souls series, you can equip heavy metal but you can't roll dodge as fast until you meet a certain low weight threshold. Speaking of that game a poise stat would be nice for determining what a shield can block.

I think they should find ways to improve the survival difference from other armors aspect when donning Heavy armor and two handed should hit harder but slower.
