GvG time!!!!!!!! Game modes and details!!!

Hello everyone! On 5/21/16 9pm est we will be having a GvG on Haduras! We will be making a guild for all the leaders to get into that way we can say whos up next and what not quickly!

RULES AND STUFF

Camps I assume you will be having more then 12 attending the event to watch and cheer on your fellow guild friends. They will be doing the rezzing instead of camps! That way our location isnt out to everyone on the factions. This will help with the pugs showing up and ruining the event. Ant extra people go on the field the fight will be halted quickly. Then we will all zerg down that one person. Only time to use camps is if judges say so

Group size It will be 12v12 just like last time. You may choose what to have in group as far as class and whatever. No restrictions! If a guild shows up with less then 8 we will try to get you guys in. The 12v12 will be priority though when it comes to matches

Fighting We will be having two game modes! One will have rezzing and two wont! Also under no circumstances will there BE SIEGE! NONE! NADA! thank you Pots will be allowed! As far as starting with ults are yet to be decided!

Judges? There will be one helping out during each fight making sure nobody rez's.... I think thats it. May need more volunteers for help! Pst me!

EMP As far as emperor goes. If one is crowned day of or during we will continue the fighting. Its really not that big of a boost i think and will make the fights more fun. If scrolls are taken then maybe we can go for them. This will be decided by all Groups lead prior to the event. Nobody can stop pugs pushing for it.

Rematch! If a guild requests a rematch with another guild we will put it on the list to make it happen. This all depends on if we have time or not.

GAME MODES!!!

12V12 GROUPED

1. This is a normal 12v12! For the first few rounds
2. NO LOS
3. NO REZZING
4. Will be held on flat ground! Basic stuff for this
5. You will be in your group. (That means you will have your raid box)
6. This will be held on the flat white snow near the crossroads besides dragon claw.

12v12 Non grouped

1. 12V12 fight again!
2. LOS allowed
3. No rezzing!
4. Rocks and trees will be used!
5. You will have a 12 man group! BUT you will not have a raid box. That means you will not be grouped group. Only 12 of your people on the field but your not allowed to have a group. This will show the guild coordination with each other and be allot of fun to see people freak out and adapt to the situation. AGAIN sportsmanship!
6. This will be on island near the dragon claw lake.
7. Going in the water will resolve in an out.(Not decided yet)

12v12 Burn the camp

1. This will be held at a mile gate with no third floor
2. Camp on both sides.
3. You choosing to leave somebody to guard it is your choice
4. rezzing allowed
5. No repairing camps
6. 10min timer( Group with the most dmg on camp or wipes wins(No pick yet)

Yea would be nice to have 2-3 on each side, make it a big event like the first one was.

I recommend setting a time limit on flipping the flag, for example whoever controls it after 10m (or until one team wipes).

Flags flip very easily and quickly (if one side takes control of it faster other team cannot stop the capture unless the ones who control it die within 10s or so)

How could we use a GvG event like this to encourage people who aren't affiliated with guilds to come and apply to join some of the up and coming ones, or to get excited about that kind of organized combat and make their own PvP guilds?

Most of the people running around Cyrodiil right now probably don't even know what organized guild combat looks like from the inside... Instead of hosting private events with secretive locations, I wonder if we could do a public event for all to come and spectate without getting trolled or zerged down. lol It's one player's opinion, but I feel like we need to attract more people into the organized PvP lyfe right meow before we lose the guilds that are still left and in many cases dwindling away.

I do agree with this sentiment, I feel like GvG style organized PVP is slowly but surely dying and has been so for a while. You see this night in and night out, there really aren't many organized groups to fight anymore even with only 2 servers. Instead, most of what you see is hording on all 3 alliances from the pugs and 1vxers and small scale guys mixed in between.

Hopefully publicizing this well will attract more people to this type of PVP that used to dominate the game in the early stages but has slowly but surely been reduced.

Its because of disruption, gvg's dont work if people interfere, and the sport of it gets lost the moment some guild shows up with 40 people to wreck the event.

Benefit of the doubt cant even apply here, because some guilds are known to do it, as well as gank duelers with 20+ and the like.

It only takes a few jerks to ruin an event.

We can always change it. I just didn't want to put it out until game day. Mostly b/c last time there was someone trying tp put up siege during the fights to ruin it.

I'm talking with a guild i'm a part of about putting a team together for DC, mainly focus on PvE content, I just want to see if I can peak their interest in organised PvP to swell the deflating numbers.

I think the chances of people ruining it are fairly low. The last event had a few people try to be idiots, but you have some of the best PvPers in the game at an event like this. It's pretty easy to handle something once it happens. The players trying to ruin it will be killed and probably KOS'd if it happens again. The downside to having a lot of spectators is shown in the first EU event where the amount of people caused the server to start lagging (if there's even that many people still playing the game interested). Last event had videos from two different sides if people want to see what it was like. Hopefully someone streams the event.

As for the actual event I just want to point out a potential issue. The CTF resource mode had some issues in EU because the strategy quickly became just stack on the flag and even if your group wipes entirely you will win if the flag flips. Several times the team that killed the enemy team lost the round because they couldn't stop the flag from flipping. The fights became a lot less interesting once team realized that. Another issue I just remembered was the resource flipping = continuous attack, so you will have to somehow make sure people spec out of it or do a quick trade to give both teams the buff before each fight.

I would rather see an adjustment to that mode assuming an EP vs AD match... If AD caps the flag, but EP is contesting (on top of the flag) the fight will go on until EP is no longer contesting the flag either by moving off or dying. This gives the AD team the ability to move around the resource and the benefit of guards (dat negate) while the EP team is restricted to only fighting on the flag. If EP starts flipping the flag the same rule will apply if it flips with the AD team contesting.

The idea of the resource CTF to me is to force a point of contention between the groups instead of having a really spread out fight. No kiting and whatnot, get back in the fight quickly or lose the round.

More guilds please I dream about this evolving into a complicated NCAA style tournament bracket with tons of illegal side betting! Then I dream it's the night of the tourney, except I overslept by about 12 hours and have to race out the door to the undisclosed location & lead my guild in my underwear. After that I wake up in a panic, sheets drenched with sweat, and realize we'll only be fighting two groups.

More guilds tho! More illegal side betting! This is a great opportunity for larger/newer guilds to hone their craft and peddle their wares. The deadliest wares of them all. DO IT

Definitely seconding this. That village is a great location too. The giants' village north of Bleakers could be good too if you want to be more out of the way. The giants would die quickly. Heck, any little village on the outskirts of the map would be awesom compared to an empty field imo.
