I have never had that much gold. Apparently I'm a cliche female that loves to spend... Even fake money in games

I have to agree 100% with Miss Bizz. I have been here since pre-launch and have never had more than 100,000 gold. I tend to spend it or give the valuable things away to friends and guildmates. I know that I have given away 6 Imperial motifs back when they were going for 100k a piece. The only bad part is none of those players who I gave the motif are still in the game. Oh well. (Yes, it might be a female thing.)

When I first hit 1mil gold I was completely stoked. Since IC released and the majority of droppable equipment turning BoP, the ridiculous amount of mats needed for crafting now I've worked down to 300k.

Sadly 300k isn't enough for even a fully crafted V16 legendary set.

Having more gold than you need for your play style equates to a lot of gold. For example, I'm approaching 5m gold, but I rarely buy anything other than motifs from other players. I have a lot of gold, since it's way more than I need to support 5 active characters. On the other hand, my 5m might seem paltry to someone who buys mats, tempers, and equipment for multiple characters.

IMHO, it depends on how much time you've played and how : ESO+ players have upgraded everything with real money (crowns given each months) and should have far much more money than non ESO+ players. Scales are really not the same in each community.

10 mil seems like a lot of gold. Personally I have never been over the 500k mark because whenever I start amassing gold I find the need to craft new armor or go after a new set. I have about 400k-500k of assets right now with maybe 20k gold. I like to buy and sell. Lol

If I count the total gold i have across all my alts, I have between 4 and 4.5 mil, but I've been in five trading guilds basically since launch. I would say that "a lot" for me would be at 10mil; I agree with the assessment that if you're really gunning for it you can hit 1mil pretty easily, but man, hit 10mil or heck, even 5 mil has been like pulling teeth for some reason.

I just hit 2.6 Million in the bank. However, I won't spend more than 10K Gold on the last Akivari Chapter I need, nor the 20K plus for the Alliance Motif Chapters or Ancient Orc.

Not sure why, its not like I can do anything else with the gold. But, I have a feeling that player housing is not going to be cheap.

Alot of gold to me is over 200K. The most gold I've ever had at one time was 600K after they removed a lot of the provisioning ingredients in game.

Someone asked the other day how much gold would it take to be rich in this game. I think if you can buy the most expensive single Item listed across all guild stores and still have "a lot" of gold, then you are rich.

I've been playing this game for over a year now. Guess how much gold I have?

    Just a little over 2,000g.

Now that is sad. I think the most I had was 40k for selling a modif. I might as well just create new character named "Broke Emily" because I am always broke.

I have 2 Vr16s, and never had over 150k gold, I spend everything because I always need things and never am able to let it build up over time.

Although my bank is packed with all kinds of materials and I have several sets of armor.

Any tips on how to make gold? I haven't even upgraded my inv past 100 or bank past 130 because I don't want to spend everything I have just for 10 spaces

I just don't understand how you Scrooge Mcduck characters have managed to get enough gold you could go swimming in it! Since the gold vendor came out I've been trying to have 100,000 gold in the bank in case Kena appears, and I feel rich if I've got that.

But seriously how do you do it? I never pay for travel, I have the champion passives that reduce the cost of armour repairs and increases the gold found in chests, and once I actually made some vet 15 gear that was sturdy just to keep the upkeep cheaper!

A lot of people actually play the market. Its a whole 'nother meta game that I don't even want to get into but the buy low/ sell high thing actually works for them. There are guilds that try to control pricing and store locations, people who got rich over ZOS bugs and have been able to finance their market endeavors, etc.

Selling drops, excess mats, and crafted items will get you SOME money. But if you wanna get and stay rich you have to treat the stores like you treat a trial. Learn it and learn how to manipulate it.

@Jim_Pipp @psychotic13 Here are the ways I make Gold:

    1. When leveling a character, I sell everything they loot (as I have all crafting maxed) This nets me 20K to 50K per zone.
    2. I have 6 Provisioning Hirelings and do Writs on 4 to 6 characters each day. I take the Ingredients and make foods. This nets me 30K to 50K a week. Note, I have an addon that lets me make multiple orders of multiple foods. Just this morning, I made enough to sell to the NPC Vendor for 24K, but it took 20 minutes with the addon, I can't imagine how long it would take without Cookery Wiz. I could just sell the ingredient stacks, but I would probably net 500 gold per 100 stack that way.
    3. Sell Alchemy Ingredients
    4. Sell Intricates in the Guild Stores
    5. Sell Looted Motifs I don't need
    6. Sell Rare Recipes I don't need
    7. Grind Public Dungeons. I can get 100 to 200 Gold per mob group, along with loot to sell and I am leveling skills I need to level. This can net me 5K to 20K per run before I have to repair
    8. 6 Writs can net me 3600 plus gold per day on each character, with a decent chance for Gold Tempers and Intricates to sell. Note, do low level writs as the mats are cheaper, but the gold payoff is the same.
    9. Legerdemain. This is probably the easiest way to make money. I grab every item that sells for 40 gold or more when I am out and about. I could also focus on just Greens and better, but I am not really farming this. Anyway, this can net you 5K to 15K or more, depending on how many Greens and Blues you find, per day per character. Their is a TG Achievement you get for Fencing 4K at each outlaw refuge. A nice achievement to chase that will net you 60K when you are done, and it should only take you about 2 hours. Also, the TG Dailies are a great way to make money when you fence the loot you get for the jobs.

So, without playing the market, and without buying low and selling high, I can make 20K easy per character, per day and not spend a lot of time doing it. If I focus, this can easily hit 50K per day, but I don't have the time to do that on multiple characters. But, if you only have one or two, that is the route I would take. Its also not like you have to do this every day, I don't. But spend a week focusing on gold making activities, and 200K is not difficult at all to acquire.

To me over 500k is already a lot. Thing is I craft everything so i have little use for gold other than repair and buy soul gems. I also gather my own materials I don't buy them as people have the tendency of overpricing everything.

i make gold from recipes. when i was trying to collect all of them i spent hundreds of thousands on them. then when i only needed 5 more blue ones to complete my list, i noticed the prices on some of them were crazy. so i started selling them instead. the most i have sold a blue recipe for is 50k. but it only cost me 800 gold. so now i buy recipes and sell them. i also sell columbine because you get it for free but you get good money for it. i buy anything i can get cheap and sell for a profit. as the other person posted, its a whole other game and very time consuming, but if youre a money hungry *** like me then it can be fun.

Trader Guilds for the most part.

Max crafters can make a lot. I do the max level and get a tad under 5k per day per character. Since I craft a weeks worth of stuff all at once it takes like 5 minutes per day.

    Gold mats sell really well.

I sell all gear unless it's blue or higher. And my guild goes grinding a day or two every week so lots of gear and gold earned there.

But basically once you buy all the bank upgrades and personal inventory there is no longer a huge call for money.
